    When I started to get more tarot decks I unconsciously did this (even though I already mixed Tarot and Oracle before getting more tarot decks) so in the end, my decks get along well together, sometimes don't... Just like a family hahahaha. They all have their roles already lol.

    I started doing this with my shadow work oracles, as I noticed each of my shadow work decks function a bit differently in ways that compliment each other. One is great as an emotional check-in, the other addresses my faults bluntly, and the third is best at telling me how to recover and heal. Together they all compliment eachother well. For daily readings I like using a tarot for business related stuff, and two oracles as an emotional check and giving me the general broad message for the day.

    Yes! I create deck families too! A combo of tarot and Oracle for similar artwork or similar energies. I usually don’t like buying a tarot or Oracle unless it can pair with something else I already have or another deck that I want.

    Thank you! I tried finding a family and chose the Tarot of the Trees for the center, Runes of the Northern Light for the spiritual above, Magic of Flowers oracle on the left and the Dragon Tarot (kind of a pip deck) on the right, and the Liminal Nature Spirits oracle underneath. I could not believe how well they worked together! The styles were different, but all the bold colors were compatible. I'm going to keep playing.

    Oh, that's a great video.
    I learn a lot from your videos for my tarot practice.
    I personally did not pair decks until now. But I will definitely give it a try. It fascinated me. the fact that you can give different aspects of your life or different people /family an extra deck can help to separate by picture or energy and create kind of a boundary from me to over people /stuff. Setting boundaries is very hard for me especially in my family. This might help me with this issue.
    Great, thank you.

    I haven't really ventured much beyond pairing a single tarot deck with an oracle, but my collection definitely has some clear groupings that would work well with this technique. For example I have my "pagan" decks - Druid Craft, Wildwood, Witches' Wisdom, Druid Animal, Sacred Ireland Celtic Moon, etc - that I pull out for sabbat readings, so it would be great to combine three of more of these to extend my practice.

    • @DawnMichelleTarot

    Always love these videos! You remind me of techniques or versions of techniques I've jotted down but forgotten to try, and help me to expand my practice. As you were explaining a random idea popped into my head, which is to actually use a card pull to decide which deck to use for something. I think it would work best with a deck that has pretty varied energy, maybe an artist collab deck (which I have but don't turn to often), but like, I can see pulling a super watery / intuitive card, a confronting one, a specific art style, etc. and using that to narrow down decks to choose from. *ponders*

  • @lauriemadsen9051

    Another fun video idea! I think in order for me to have many "large deck families" I would need to have a very large deck collection (which, I may have in a few years, given the rate at which I've been collecting, haha). The reason being that it bugs me too much if the decks don't visually work together. So, when I get a new deck in, I try to see what else I have that it pairs with visually and make note of that. And from there/with that as a prerequisite, I can see what really works together energetically (which may only be one other deck, if that). And I'm also, at least for the time being, trying to only buy decks that I love the artwork on and that can stand alone (i.e. I'm trying not to buy decks I don't love but buying them anyway because I love how they pair with a deck I do love, if that makes any sense). I do think this is potentially a fun practice to develop as my collection grows though, and I always enjoy seeing your pairings, thank you!

      @DawnMichelleTarot  3 года назад +1

      I try only to keep decks in my collection that I enjoy working with, it's just a bonus when they pair well with my other decks. 🙂 Thank you for watching. ❤️

    I dont really do that, though I do have two specific decks that I feel pulled to use for my sisters that I feel holds their energy. So if I read for them, and they are not around to choose a deck, I’ll always use the field tarot for one of them and the Starseeker for the other, as those deck to me a very simular yet also very different - my sisters are twins.

  • @clareozcbear2640

    Can you advise or recommend one of your videos that helps to identify that energy and voice for each deck that you are talking about? I am finding that part of the concept a bit tricky as i havent explored that concept of using a deck to represent a particular thing such as you described, the family, internal energies, external energies etc. I tend to use the question and journalling to do that so its a very intriguing concept to me to match that sort of intention to the actual deck and use multiple decks that way. Does that make sense?

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  3 года назад +2

      I don't think I have any videos that talk about that specifically because for me the voice, relationship and purpose tends to evolve over time. It just kinda comes out of working with the decks and finding that certain decks read well for certain things. I do have videos talking about working with some of my specific decks (there's a playlist for those) where I might touch upon it here and there. I'll give it some thought and see if can figure out a way to articulate it in a video. 🙂 Thank you for watching. ❤️

      @@DawnMichelleTaroti would love that, thank you. You really open my mind on how deep you can dive with tarot practice, i would also be interested in if you have done videos on the questions and placements as you have described briefly in this video. I will have to listen again and take notes but the heart of the matter, the subconscious part of self and the outer part of self intrigues me i would love to explore that more. Once again thank you for sharing your tarot practice with us.
