I feel (just my opinion) that Ted played the greatest Jason I ever saw on film & I've seen all of them. An amazing stuntman/actor. No disrespect to any of the other actors who've played him before or since. (Rest In Peace Mr. Richard Brooker, another favorite of mine)
Had the pleasure of meeting Mister Brooker back in 2009. Nice guy. Loved scaring people with the machete. I was off across the way talking to I believe Scout Taylor Compton, and we heard a loud crack. It was Brooker, smiling as he held his machete. The lady next to me(who was pregnant) said it made her unborn baby jump lol.

I fundamentally agree with everything you said in your comment. In fact, imo it's not a subjective statement. People confuse Kane Hodder being the "best" Jason, but it's only because he played the part more than anyone else. Ted White's single performance stands out as the definitive Jason Voorhees.
Ted White (pt 4) and Richard Brooker (pt 3) were my favorite Jasons. Two tall, hulking dudes at the time.
And CJ Graham in part 6. Those are the three best Jason roles.

My favorite Jason. He brought a ferocious physicality to the role that nobody else could ever touch. And he was in his mid-fifties when he did it too.

@@MadBrosMedia Yeah, he's great in Starman and Against All Odds. And he does a great job as the creepy cowboy at the beginning of Romancing the Stone.

joseph monaghan My favourite Jason too, had part 4 on vhs in the late 80's. Ted White 6ft 4" I'm 5ft 11". Would love to meet him he'd make me look short. He's 90 now. Hope he lives to be 100 and then some.

Met Ted last year, age 92, still sharp as a tack.

Ted White was the best Jason! He played the role the way Jason was suppose to be played, which was a hardcore lunatic, every seen he was in, in Final Chapter was brutal, personally love when he goes through the door!
Yea it's the little things in that movie like before he has the tv smashed over his head. The way he reaches down for the door knob and quickly looks back up at Trish and Tommy.. Richard Brooker and Ted White had the character played with a passion for being scary. Ted busting through that door in the final chapter and Richard in part 3 after throwing Rick through the window just grabs above the window and stares in at Chris.. epic! Loved the way both ran too. Strange after the final chapter that Jason ran no more. I guess it was the Final Chapter of him running.. he hasnt ran until the 2009 reboot. Lol.
Ted and Richard are my favorite Jason’s as well, for all the reasons you’ve named. My third favorite would be CJ Graham in part 6.
One of the best scenes in horror movie history. Jason's brute strength and tenacity was captured in that one scene.

@@am17877 honestly imo, it wouldn’t have Jason’s creepy looking eyes in part 4 and in part 3 it would look weird as hell. In part 9 Jason’s eyes look fucking awesome with Kane hodder, but it wouldn’t work with part 2, 3, or 4

Ted played a Jason that you really did not want to encounter. He was downright brutal, ran you down, and did not stop. Fantastic. He, Kane Hodder, and Derek Mears were the best in the role.

Definitely the best Jason. He brought a brutal aspect to the character that the others lacked.
This guy as Jason used to scare me when I was younger. But after hearing him talk and hearing and seeing what he's like outside the mask and make-up. How the hell can I be scared of this guy now? And I mean that in a good way. Especially with his "It's nothing personal, just my job." attitude of things.

Even though Richard Brooker from part 3 had the best face under the mask, Ted White was a badass Jason in every other way including the mask and how damaged it was. Ted White will always be the number one Jason. Derek Mears number two. CJ Graham 3, Richard Brooker 4, Kane Hodder 5, and Freddy versus Jason. Warrington Gillette was not the Jason that we know and love lol. More like klutzy Jason. Thank you for serving our country Mr. White.

Though I came as a fan of Ted's portrayal of Jason (a role it seems he's not especially partial to), really enjoying the anecdotes from his early career as a stuntman. Those who are bitching need to broaden their horizons. Good work.

My favorite jason will always be kane hodder, no question about it. However, Ted white played the only jason to date that actually scared me. That speaks volumes

I like Ted's Jason...the only thing I don't like about it is the way he moves. Looks great standing still until he starts any rapid movement..then he just looks a little old and uncoordinated.
