MiG 35 is a modernized / improved / updated version of MiG 29. Improved avionics, thrust vectoring, improved manouverability, and relatively cheap are its main traits. Soooo beatuiful, soooo deadly.
It's the most beautiful fighter jet airframe ever built so far. Great form, great function. Aerodynamically, there are very few planes more maneuverable even in its MiG 29 guise.

I was trying to make a point that most of the technology available today in the US, already had existed before in some shape and form. well- when you want to justify an inferior design - good idea is to talk about modern features, technologies - in this case stealth. Russians were able to detect all these "stealth" designs long ago. Not to mention all the problems with F-22 - and these are not Russians who are talking but americans themselves including president, F22 Raptor Exposed - Why the F22 Was Cancelled - stealth coating which does not withstand rain?, 1 hour flying vs 30 hours maintenance?, critical failure every 2 hours? nearly 400mil cost? - yes that's really superior plane. American and its allies deign high tech combat aircraft using high tech methods and materials, and are more capable, but are more expensive to build and maintain. Reminds me of the WW2 tank comparisons. Germans had the biggest and baddest tanks, but were a nightmare to keep running and had relatively lower production volumes. One Panzer could take out 9 Shermans or T-34s, but there were always the 10th or more to take out the Panzer. Complexity versus quantity can be an important deciding factor if in a war of attrition. For blitzkriegs however, go with superior speed and technology.
I believe it's the tactics used and the people manning the machines that will let you win? Stealth will play some part, but whoever has the better army as a whole will win.. still, MiG-35 is a beautiful machine, my dream is to fly something like this!

The thing about the F-35 and F-22, is they will change how air dominance is achieved, 5th generation tactics against 4th generation. its about initiative. Even in Serbia and Iraq, there were small engagements between equal number of aircraft, but the initiative had already been lost.
I know you said Soviet pilots. The ratio was around equal. The US at one time claimed the same win/loss ratio that the Soviets did, but later studies showed the results about equal.

Not really! Pilots are trained to avoid missiles. Fighters have something called "flare", a decoy for missiles. I'm not even mentioning jammer systems.
Did you actually look at the airplane? Look at the lower fuselage of the Mig-29. Compare the placement of the Engine nacelles to the eagle, do they look the same? Also does the Eagle have LERX (Leading Edge Root Extension) like the Mig-29? The Mig-29 design was influenced by the Sukhoi T-10 design. Now if the T-10 Design was influenced by a western plane, then that might rather been the F-14, F-16 or the F/A-18. Besides, planes that are built for the same purpose often look the same.
Check out the stories of Luftwafe pilots that flown GDR inherited MIG 29 against US fighters in practice. I' ve talked to them personaly while I was a test pilot myself. MIGs usualy loose in "US against small country" war, because they are outnumbered, with poor mainterance and flown by pilots with lack of training. I've met a Serbian pilot who's MIG-29 didn't even a fuc*in radio station working and he was easily splashed by a Dutch F-16. I wouldn't call it a "victory", bur a "target practice".

One Panzer could take out 9 Shermans or T-34s, but there were always the 10th or more to take out the Panzer. Complexity versus quantity can be an important deciding factor if in a war of attrition. For blitzkriegs however, go with superior speed and technology.
I believe it's the tactics used and the people manning the machines that will let you win? Stealth will play some part, but whoever has the better army as a whole will win.. still, MiG-35 is a beautiful machine, my dream is to fly something like this!
Su-37 is a technology demonstrator based on Su-27 Flanker and a predecessor to Su-35 Flanker F and a MiG-35 is based on a MiG-29 Fulcrum M and an advancement on the M version also to enhance performance both Su-35 and MiG 35 got engines with thrust vectoring nozzles 9 (3D nozzles)

whats funny is we all trash the other guys jets like we know something but whenever I have had the chance to talk to the airforce pilots they have always talked about the russian jets with respect.
Understandable, but here's the thing about arguments on these kind of forums. Everyone compares the plane without thinking about the flight strategy. Most of it is flight planning. The thing about the F-35 and F-22, is they will change how air dominance is achieved, 5th generation tactics against 4th generation. its about initiative. Even in Serbia and Iraq, there were small engagements between equal number of aircraft, but the initiative had already been lost.
I know you said Soviet pilots. The ratio was around equal. The US at one time claimed the same win/loss ratio that the Soviets did, but later studies showed the results about equal.

Who knows that Russia isn't producing more weapons than US?Just because it invests less doesn't mean the production cost is same as the one in US.IN US everything costs a lot more,worker,parts,resources-everything's much more expensive.Just example:F-22's parts come from 100 different factories,some even from abroad,it's main parts(wings,engines,body,tail)are assembled in 10 other factories.That's why it costs so much at the end.I have no doubt other US weapons follow suit.

Not really! Pilots are trained to avoid missiles. Fighters have something called "flare", a decoy for missiles. I'm not even mentioning jammer systems.
To which version are you talking about? With Phazotron Zhuk AESA Radar and engines Klimov RD33 with 3d TVC? If So you are "dead" wrong!
Did you actually look at the airplane?
Look at the lower fuselage of the Mig-29.
Compare the placement of the Engine nacelles to the eagle, do they look the same?
Also does the Eagle have LERX (Leading Edge Root Extension) like the Mig-29?
The Mig-29 design was influenced by the Sukhoi T-10 design.
Now if the T-10 Design was influenced by a western plane, then that might rather been the F-14, F-16 or the F/A-18.
Besides, planes that are built for the same purpose often look the same.

Check out the stories of Luftwafe pilots that flown GDR inherited MIG 29 against US fighters in practice. I' ve talked to them personaly while I was a test pilot myself.
MIGs usualy loose in "US against small country" war, because they are outnumbered, with poor mainterance and flown by pilots with lack of training. I've met a Serbian pilot who's MIG-29 didn't even a fuc*in radio station working and he was easily splashed by a Dutch F-16. I wouldn't call it a "victory", bur a "target practice".

Its considered to be deep modernisation of original Mig29 design... This is just designation for export, its in fact just somewhat improved Mig29M/M2.
U-2 and SR 71 are strategic planes, MiG holds record for the jet fighter class.

Yes with a radar there were problems. But these problems were eliminated. As I know ф35 and ф 22 too have big problems. But it don't mean that over time these problems will be eliminated.

there's also the expense of flight and how many maintenance hours vs. hours in the air, which tend to also have a negative impact on pilot quality.
a pilot needs to fly in order to get good and simulators, while great teaching/learning tools can only do so much.
as for it's qualities as a fighter, I can't judge because i haven't really cared to look that much into the F-22
