When I was 'younger' I put a lot of what little money I had into Amiga. I took a 1200, shoved it into a Mikronik tower with some janky Z3 backplate thing. I added a 1260 + ram and that had SCSI disks hooked up - IIRC. I had a PicassoIV + TV card, ariadne Ethernet, and Prelude soundcard. That plastic Mikronik tower had some metal rails, but the whole tower would flex and move around and that would unhook, or just make Z3 not work. I loved that setup in its crazy way more than pretty much anything else in computers, and I've had a bunch. But it was flaky, and that was the tower and Z3 even before the OS that was flaky too. But it was all fun.
Aren't there harder 3D printing materials you can use? Also I thought there was even a metal fibers blend or something. HMMM. Love seeing you mod this. Especially the ..fixing. :)
Chris here's an idea, why not straighten the metal backplates, tap the top down the other way, mark the center of the hole from the underside (exterior), drill a new hole & then paint them.
so what was the total cost of the build? its awesome, i wish i could afford one! unfortunately im still trying to buy my 1st amiga since the 1990's, and that one was lost along with my entire collection in a house fire.
Oh Man sorry to hear that. Go for it! They’re not getting any cheaper luckily we have Paypal Credit as far as the total cost of this Haha gotta wait For the third and final Installment.
@ would you recommend buying and populating the purple board or just using and original? Which one do you use the most? Should I be looking for a 4000 or a 3000 or any other model? Obviously I want the best one, but I’m not familiar with all the different models and their expandability. I’m just assuming that the 4000 is the most expandable and upgradable and can run the most software if that’s not correct please let me know before I make a foolish purchase L O L. For reference I have more fun, upgrading them to do things that they were never supposed to do then I have using the computer lol that’s why I want one that I can get all the accelerators bells and whistles for to give myself a project that I can use to hide from my family😂 I just want to be able to say at the end of my project. It’s the ultimate Amiga so I need to know the best starting point thanks I’m sure by now you know I love your show! And we have a shared affection for slayer as well! Lol
depends on what you want to do with it in the end, if your just a gamer and want a gaming/demo/music rig, just get an Amiga 1200, you can pimp them out and they were very popular, and not as expensive as a big box amiga. the 1200 and 4000 were the last of the breeds computer wise.
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration @ChrisEdwardsRestoration Yeah, I know the feeling. Family and friends are always asking what are you gonna do with all this "junk" when you do fix it? Break it and start over! 😁
Thanks again for another video on your sweet looking "purple MB white/clear Case" Amiga 4000! Very Cool! 😀👍
The combination of purple and white chassie is perfect 😊
Let's get on the next round! Don't give up, Chris!
Hi from France, Chris (where Mary went ;-) ),
Thanks for your very interesting videos.
Keep up the good work!
Thierry
😁 Thanks you Chris for add Audio Track Translation, is very comfy.🥰
Some of the jokes and humor may come across differently with the translations
OK so those fans with screen are pretty impressive!

And still is!
Calm down so you won't get a heart attack. We need you around for our future tech enjoyment.
Thank you Chris Cheers
Thank you for this great inspirational video and Amiga rocks keep up the hard work I'm sure the end goal will be worth it.
Thanks for watching. You bet it will be worth it, keep an eye out for new content!
Oh the nightmare continues... yikes. Will there be a happy end? Gotta watch!!

Killer case. White towers are so nice
If you give Dr. Chris a snorkel he will be able to live in the fish tank for longer periods of time.
are the fans at the bottom supposed to suck out the cold air?
Top blows cold down across the cpu and board. Side and bottom suck it. (Mona sound)
Sorry for your troubles Chris. Very depressing. Do you have a CDROM mount in it?
Nope

You put a PAL fan in an NTSC machine, that's why it's out of sync 😆
So I don't have to! Yeah, thanks, A1200 with PiStorm32 is good enough for me. For everything else, there's Linux.
This Amiga is .... cold. Probably why it is treating you like this.
But: Can the Fan run it „Doom“ 😅 I wish You and Your Family a merry Chrismas and a happy start to 2025 from Germany🎉
RTG - Real Trashy Goop :P
Re targetable graphics
Does anyone actually use Amiga for something productive, or playing games? 😏
I break them and fix them endlessly reliving my youth of doing the same

@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration Ok, so it is a hobby for life 😅
yes...I use it my studio to record music!
