The thing is, black culture as we know it in the UK was really curated by Caribbean people who came over to the UK after WW2. They came to help rebuild the UK due to a post-war labour shortage. They are called the Windrush generation. So a lot of black British slang or tbh, British slang in general comes from them which is why we say things like ‘wag1’ or ‘peng’. Trendsetters.
There is no black culture. There’s individual cultures like Jamaican or Nigerian (Jamaicans aren’t all black either. Native Jamaicans aren’t black). The US started this whole ‘black culture’ because a lot of them don’t know their own lineage. But it’s just a self aggrandising circle jerk supremacy. Even the fact this comment will get comments like ‘This ain’t pass the vibe check’ Or ‘He ain’t invited to the cookout’ With others saying ‘Wow I love us’ etc, this comment has no malice in it. I love a lot of black cultures, not everything within every culture, but there’s great things in all cultures.
@Burner-td4cu Aren't all cultures created by a group of people? Even ancestral cultures were once a budding set of norms created by the people who needed them, right? If we're talking about a rigid, homogeneous set of norms that stays the same across the globe and over hundreds or thousands of years without change, then I guess there's no such thing as culture at all. You only have to look at migration patterns of different groups of ppl to see how and why cultures change over time. Of course Black ppl in the US created our own flavor of Black culture - our families literally weren't allowed to practice the original culture they came from. And while that may be different in some ways to the culture of Black ppl across the planet, there are certainly similarities that persist within them all. How that equals self-aggrandizing, I can't understand. Is that not the nature of all cultures everywhere?
@Burner-td4cu I suggest, that you don't try to Burna boy this. Stand on business... you said what you said. Black American culture is known all over the world and emulated, so there is in fact Black culture. There's also diasporic culture. It sounds like you should get into sociology.
@@Burner-td4cu There is indeed a rich and diverse Black culture that spans across the global African Diaspora. This culture encompasses a wide range of traditions, arts, music, languages, cuisines, and philosophies. These elements are not only profoundly interconnected but also uniquely varied, reflecting the diverse experiences and histories of Black people in different regions of the world. This cultural mosaic offers a testament to the resilience, creativity, and enduring spirit of Black communities worldwide.
James REALLY dialed back his sus activities and love for Fuhad to be in front of company!😂😂 When dude asked them how they felt about being sus with their homies... James could have been more honest cuz he made it sound like him and Fuhad don't play that shit when we know he's all butterflies for Fufu! I understand tho; loved the episode!
As an American, I LOVE Fuhad and James. When I saw them collab with Americans I literally ran over to see how they would interact I loved this dynamic 😭❤️
I like this collab because it seemed more like a conversation. You gave James and Fuhad a chance to talk. A lot of these podcast hosts just talk over them. Great segments too!
Im not going to lie to you men. But from all the podcasts that they’ve been a guest on the chemistry was not there! But this right here!!!! Finally! This interview and KevOnStage’s interview were soooo good.
I’ve had a friend for 21 years. We may not speak every week but when we do, it’s like no time has passed because that bond is solid. So there are some strong female friendships out here but I agree, totally different from male friendships. Respect to y’all.
That comment about not being able to argue with a Brit and take the accent seriously...FACCCTTTSSSS. Love them, but bruh no way you speaking to me in the King's English and think I'm about to be scared! You cussin me out in KJV and think I'm gonna fold?! 🤣
I'm a Brit who came here because of Shxtsngigs. I LOVED this so much!!! I have subscribed and shall definitely, start following this Channel. As a woman, it was nice listening to your take on the difference between men and women etc. Great Show!❤👍
This was the best collab ever! Once I stopped drooling at all of that FOINNESS, I was actually loving the content, and best believe that I'm a new Don't Trip fan❤
This is such a legendary collab. James and Fuhad have introduced me to Don’t Trip and the laughter in this episode is so wholesome!! I love the discussions about differences between American and British culture and the fact that Josh and David were keen to learn British slang etc .
I love how my algorithm is set up. Every single time I’m up to date with their episodes, older episodes they did with other podcasts, pop up. I love itttttt! And this episode was awesome
They did well with the UK translations under pressure tbf lol - I would say most of those. You can also say ‘buff’ for good looking and nice (peng/leng also) … you can also say ‘what’s good?’ as a greeting (they said ‘wa gwan’).
I appreciate how unselfish y’all are as creators and leaders in your world. The is how we love to see our black men, uplifting, supporting and protecting one another. Nowwwwwwww two things, whispering in my ear in our native tongue always hits different and I’ve got 5 friends with friendships as long as yours and longer. Merde! Rude! ❤
Fuhad is ALWAYS so awkward on these guest situations like bro relax, speak with your chest😂 ,you're the celebrity guest here own it. Then James is just top excited jumping on every question getting ticklish 😅
He’s mentioned that he struggles with anxiety in other interviews so I’m guessing a situation like this would be quite overwhelming for him. James is more extroverted and helps him stay calm 🥰🥺
This felt very reminiscent of watching shits n gigs. So big up these guys on bringing segments which would really engage them. Cause alot of the other collaborations cldnt do this. Well done.
I been having the same friends since the beginning of secondary school. 25 years, we don't have the time to talk everyday, but once we make time for each other, no time has passed. It's great! We all understand each other ❤
I just wanna know what the real temperature was in that room was because Fuhad is sweating and I see a winter coat and a beanie. Was it hot or cold guyssss!?!?😂😂😂
I am now a fan of Don't Trip. I love this collaboration. I can show you five girl friendships that are longer than yours, and they don't talk every day; some live in different states.
Love it. I was trying to think of other words too 😅 Tbf We mainly use Patois because our Jamaican parents came over to the UK and settled. Its Patois that's become common slang.

I agree! There was mass migration at one point, now their influence on the syntax is clearly evident.
Look at our boys … touring the USA … I’m about to watch every podcast they hit 😂
Why do they look small with all USA man
If fuhad screamed talent.
The way james would scurry over would be hilarious 😂😂😂
Scurry 😂💀💀💀
Literally saying ‘scuse me, pardon me all the way from one side of the club to the other

Fuhad has said many times he suffers from anxiety, I’m guessing the reason for the sweating in the beginning. He seemed to calm down later. ❤
We need this collab AT LEAST three times a year… love this energy !!!
