      No anti-matter in Andromeda or anywhere else in the observable Universe. Small amounts of gas and dust drift between galaxies, creating an intergalactic wind. If a galaxy were made of antimatter, any small amounts of matter from the intergalactic wind would annihilate with antimatter on the outer edges of the galaxy and produce gamma rays. But none were detected so far.

      YES it would be no problem. Put it (ionised) into a FT-ICR (fourier transform ion cyclotron mass spectrometer) and you dont even loose it upon detection. i guess the storing is done in a somewhat similar way of trapping anyhow, but i didnt read about it.... If they managed to store the neutral that is even more cool ;).. anyway, if anyone in the moment is able to store it, I am quite sure they know how much they have.... this video is such a crap, suggesting really weird "applications" that are not what the story is about - but sell good on youtube...

    2:23 If you are going 50% light speed it depends on which observer, with how long it takes. For us on earth it would be way more than two years, it would be eight years (if the speed of the ship was constant). But it's not (obviously) and you have to take into account the acceleration and deceleration times. It would be more like sixteen years instead of eight (relative to earth observers, that is). From the ships observers it would be way less time.

    • @massimocole9689
      @massimocole9689 2 года назад +1

      At 50% the speed of light time dilation makes the trip seem 86.6% as long, so still be way longer than 2 years, 6.928 years for the constant speed trip and even longer for the trip with acceleration deceleration time. I think he must have multiplied the 4 light year distance by 50% instead of divided.

      @@unskeptable I was saying that at 50% the speed of light the 4 light year trip would feel like 8 years to people on earth and 6.928 years for people on the ship. And it would be even longer if we take into account the time the ship would need to spend speeding up and slowing down. So the quote in the video that the trip would take 2 years was a mistake.

    The nearest star from Earth (other than our sun) - Proxima Centauri is 4 light-years away, so it would take 8 years for a spaceship travelling at 50% the speed of light to reach that star, not 2.

    • @1OkiePackRat
      @1OkiePackRat 7 лет назад +10

      Perhaps he was thinking about the subjective time experienced by the passengers of the ship. I have't looked at the math, but at 50% of C, there would certainly be SOME Einsteinian time dilation experienced. Subjective time would slow for the passengers as the ship got closer to the speed of light.

      1OkiePackRat
      Actually you are correct if the spaceship was travelling at light speed it would appear to take no time for the person in the spaceship to reach the speed of light. For 50% C I used a time dilation calculator and found time would move at 87% the rate of time on Earth, so it would take roughly 6.96 years to reach the star, still not 2. Also the point still stands that 8 years would pass for anyone on Earth.
      Good point tho.

    A lot of people are asking this, so I feel the need to address it. In the video, he states the current prices for the listed drugs. People are saying these facts are wrong, but they are, in fact, correct. The value of a drug can often vary, and is determined by its purity, especially with the drugs made in a lab that were mentioned. The drugs that are found on the street often only contain a small content of the drug themselves and things such as baby powder are often added to increase the quantity. This does, however, decrease the potency of the drug and allow for it to be sold at lower prices. When these drugs are bought, you expect to be getting a large quantity, when, in fact, you are only getting a small amount, bulked out with additives.

      Even high grade uncut Colombian tea, aka cocaine is never worth that. If cocaine comes back 1-1 on making crack, it was it was 100% pure. Pure cocaine only costs like 500/oz from the cartels, or if you're not well connected it pushes 1200/oz, but it's never worth more than 100/g. Anything more than that you're the white kid who is getting finessed because his dad is a lawyer.

    • @Patan77xD
      @Patan77xD 7 лет назад +10

      Well also technically the nearest star to Earth is our sun and its only 499 light seconds away so travailing 50% speed of light would only take 1000sec or about 16.67min ;) but yeah traveling to Alpha Centauri would take about 8.5years at 50% speed of light, but that's without acceleration and g-forces, realistically assuming you want humans on the space ship you would accelerate at 1G as a way to simulating gravity then when you decelerate you flip the rocket and decelerate at 1G as well, it would take about 175 earth days accelerating at 1G to hit 50% speed of lights and then the distance you would have traveled would be ~0.12 light years so still have 4.13ly to go, then you would travel at 50% speed of light without accelerating for about 8years then start decelerating this would take another 175days so in total realistically about 9 years. or if you wanted simulated gravity by acceleration for the whole journey you could accelerate then decelerate then re-accelerate going back and fourth between 0 and 50% speed of light but you would use a lot of fuel that way also take a lot longer so probably better after the 175days of acceleration switch to a rotating space ship mode, but yeah who cares. nerds

      The starting price of a Toyota Corolla is $19,395.
      25,000,000,000/19,395 = 1,288,992
      You can buy One million two hundred and eighty eight thousand nine hundred and ninety two Toyota Corollas. Totally, worth it.

    • @ganaraminukshuk0
      @ganaraminukshuk0 7 лет назад +4

      For anyone wondering, a Toyota Corolla's weight and dimensions (at the time of me looking it up) are 2840 pounds and 183*70*57 inches, and its top speed is 117MPH. That should be enough to make proper conversions from metric and imperial to Corolla, and a lot of SI units depend on meters and kilograms, and meters per second shows up many different units as well.
      You can imagine creating a new unit called a Corollawatt, for example.

    Okay so a few things need to be clarified, to store it is actually easier in theory than in practice, but it still is relatively easy we just need currenting vacum (vacum that changes density), to produce it faster is actually the HARDER thing not the easier like the guy said in the video, we somehow need to get far better in changing electron and proton sizes after that we pretty much did it, you just reverse matter (they are doing that rifht now, but they need to find matter of the correct size) and adjust the size, as for how we use the anti matter is actually easier, you make a container of aerogel (really low density) and hold the anti matter inside. (Inside is clear vacum of course) Thats for transporting it while for using it you need to just crush a even a slightest bit of the container. Boom thats it, but we do not have the techonology to make currenting vacum and we cant change size of anything nor any scientist is trying to develop such a machine (not that its possible with our current knowledge and techonology). If you have any questions you can ask me, I am more than willing to explain anything I said.
