My late husband liked going to auction houses..they cheat. They have a friend bidding against you..on one side of the room. Jacking up the bid for the item They want. No where is safe. I got burned for gold jewlery at a pawn shop. Idk who you can trust . Coin shop will be like pawn shop. Look at Pawn Stars, they don't want to be fair. Try to low ball ppl. So THEY can resell the item..sad!
It looks some older guy was a collector and never informed his family, unfortunately. I would maybe try to hunt down the previous owners. There must be a way to find out. Maybe the descendants need some of that money.
First of all, congrats! Im very excited and happy for you! Im just curious though. How could you not do just a bit of research on the internet to know what you have? The coin shop does not have your best interest and you should not have expected them to be forth coming. Information is power and you armed yourself with zero. Hate to say this but you got incredibly taken advantage of by them and left 100xs of thousands on the table. Calling the police and trusting the coin shop has to be the most naïve thing ive heard all week. I guess congratulations none the less, it is indeed better luck than any of us will probably ever have. This message is intended for the case if you are to be so blessed again. ✌
@@Ryan-iz4bc I would keep some of it because i'm a collector. My collection is probably worth 12 grand or something, but i've collected over a long time. I have lots of world coins and notes.
That old dollar bill can fetch you over $100,000 if it's in mint shape and that's just the first bill. Your find could be in the Millions. If the jewelry store gave you a little more then the face value of 45000 you got ripped off potential millions of dollars.
+++++++I would love to hear an update on this. You should really have had a reputable "coin appraiser" give you a written appraisal even if you had to pay him/her etc. 500 bucks. I have a gut feeling that some of those large notes could be quite valuable......especially the gold seal ones.===============
Don't congrats too far though, he's stupid, because the total in face value was around $11.3K, they offered him $75K for it, which is a profit, but the truth is that so many rare and very valuable notes (also coins) were in there, that's was easily worth $400K+ at the minimum!!
Damn! I never knew that George Washington was on the $20.00 bill. Ever since I’ve been around he’s always been on the $1.00 bill. Definitely before my time. It seems that there were a lot more bills and old coins underneath the floorboards, too bad that guy didn’t wait until he retrieved everything before he shot his video. You have to wonder who left all that treasure there. Maybe that will never be known, but someone - if they are still alive - definitely lost out on a whole lotta loot.
I found a stash in a box that was built onto the backend of a drawer. Was during my sons Birthday party. My dad was looking thru my tool drawer in the basement and I told him to just pull the whole drawer out. So when he did he saw a leather bank bag in the box and boy did his eyes light up. I ended up splitting it with him. He had been so good to me all my life I figured why not.
You now what you can get for the old bills the ones with the buffalo and the funny backs you found a fortune a good day at auction you will be rich that's the nicest find I seen on RUclips yet I been on a lot of coin channel When I was younger we use to play in this old shack we called it we ripped down the celling and all these bills came down we got like 300 a piece just old bills nothing like what you got they are collector notes nice find
I don't understand all the haters, he said in the video the house is only 10 years old. He probably purchase the house and the previous owner stashed some antique bills between floors, I do a lot of restoration work this is not uncommon to find
There is no way that this currency spent 15 years in a floor space without any protection and came out looking like that. This video looks like a fraud. And the previous owner didn't know anything? And you called the cops? Hope that the cops will pay you? None of this makes any sense.
Oh wow congratulations!!! I would have been very happy, I just recently started collecting coins and stuff and that would have probably made my month and probably more x3 Congrats!!!
A lot of those bills were United States Notes not Federal Reserve Notes. That's when money was worth something instead of being fiat money as it is today.
Dude! Congratulations! I’m sure everyone has wished for the very same thing to happen to them. I know I would be jumping for joy! Good luck, take your time and make sure you get the most you can if you sell it!
Did you keep any of it.? Just to have for your on collection. I have a collection of old monies, I take it out now and then just to look at. I will pass it down to my kids.
I really hope you didn't get ripped off that was a huge collection definitely worth thousands. Just one of those gold certificates is worth around $200

I would not have called the police . You bought the house you've got the right to whatever you find . Awesome ! Take to a collector and sell the vintage stuff
That's a new one one me, finders keepers is't your house. I think you better check the state laws as it looks like the owner died and the relatives sold the house without knowing about the cash.
As a long time collector of old U.S. currency I see........silver dollars: Peace Dollars and Morgan dollars, Gold Certificates, Red Seal five dollar bills known as "United States Notes", "Fractional Currency" : bills for under 1 dollar.....like the Fifty Cent Note, old style "Federal Reserve Notes", two dollar bills. BUT HERE IS THE BIG QUESTION......the house is only "ten years old".....so whoever stashed it had to be a collector of vintage U. S. Money to some extent. Another question.....clearly the person who stashed it knew what they had (unless they stole it).....so.....why would it not have been put in some kind of protective container....metal strong box etc. as paper currency can degrade and can even be chewed up by rodents to make their nests. Personally.....I would tear the house apart. There could be more.....much more.
First he said the previous owner was murdered in some store, then it's a car accident.Started believing at first, now I think it's a bunch of made up BS.Like he can't reach down there and grab those last two stacks of cash that does look real.

Cops were like were about to retire...money was lost in transit
It's the po po, scram!!!!!!

If I found this I would “die” from the sheer joy and happiness of being the proud owner of a beautiful antique currency collection.
