Do you have a favorite performance? This one sounds fantastic. It took forever for the Cure to percolate through Mt. As a kid. I was lucky enough to have worked in a record store when KissMe/Disintegration came out. Then you know without musical prejudice. Would love a great Disintegration era or focus concert to look out for.
@@GIBKELI really love The Cure “Show” it was a live recorded concert from 1993. Some of their best live performances ever. You can find some of the videos from it on RUclips..if you’re lucky, you can find a VHS of Show. I’m still hunting. I would also recommend “Play Out” from 1991
I thought I remember reading that he was sixteen or seventeen when the band started. But it may have been that's when he was writing song's that would become Cure song's? Come to think of it? I think it was the latter... But yes, when they got started, they were pumping it out. If you've ever seen their very first TV performance, I think it's in 79. It's amazing version of a forest
I’d love to just watch a full behind the scenes of Robert doing things. Maybe my quality of entertainment has dropped - but watching him fuck around with chopsticks is very captivating
I would love a show of just Robert Smith doing things. Robert Smith gardening, baking bread, dusting and wistfully paging through books, making drinks for Mary, driving to the post office...
I used to have this vhs. It was stolen by a girl I was dating. This is perhaps one of the rarest and best of the cure.thank you to the person who uploaded for us to enjoy.
The back stage scene between 59:02 and 59:37 is hilarious. There are Chris Parry and Perry Bamonte running around and opening some bottle of wine or champaign, and Lol refusing to take a sip because he wants to get back on stage :)
My favorite band in my favorite country ❤ I had the chance to meet Robert Smith and the band ( Simon, Porl, Lol and Boris) in France in 1986 and spend an afternoon with them. Probably the best day of my life. I could have a picture of me with Robert. Wonderful souvenir ❤
@@BraxtonWages To me, Orange live version was impecable, this one in Tokyo was way intense. There’s also an amazing performance in Münich’s Alabama round those years. The sound is quite good and the line up were the same (Andy Anderson and Phil Thornally). All dress in black and a very sinister atmosphere.
This version kicks ass, but if u really wanna hear one hundred years, check out Bosch de maasport 1984 and Washington Ontario theater 1984 versions, those two are just divine
I started listening to Cure when I was in high school. The first album was Standing on the Beach and then I tried my best to buy all their back issues and new ones. I had a letter written by Robert. He was cute and funny.
Amazing concert! I saw them in Nottingham at this time. Arguably at the top of their game! But the Head on the Door tour was brilliant too! Saw them in Leeds tram shed!
I was in Japan about a week ago and it came to mind, "wow watching the cure here must have been such an experience." now im here, loved watching this. I saw them play in nyc about a year ago.
I like this because it's the Top tour, my favorite album. But also because it's the first time the early albums and the synthpop hits were both performed by a full band. Special props for them working out the arrangements, especially Andy on drums, who worked out 100 years, The Walk, the Caterpillar, Lovecats (which he recorded but it's so dynamically different), and all the old songs. A dizzying variety of drumbeats.
This concert featured more guitar work from Robert Smith than any I've seen - live or recorded. Porl Thompson usually carries more of a load on guitar.
Para los que gustamos de la música de The Cure, este registro es una joya. Agradezco desde ya por compartirlo. La conformación del álbum "The Top", ¡en vivo, genial!
Excellent - I've seen so little video of this lineup and such great coverage of The Top. The audio is great and sounds a lot cleaner (less distorted) than "Concert". Excellent vid Thanks!
...and right after that last clip ended of Andy counting out Robert, Andy lost it on the security guards and eventually everyone else and was out of the band before sunrise...

Robert looked so cute at this concert
Rip Andy Anderson
😢
I heard that.
Epic like a drum machine but with swing
It's impressive when you think that Robert was just 25 in 1984. How many of us achieved so much, so young.
Yes. THE pasos of time, non stop🇪🇸😝🥃🤔😆😅😂😂
Sooo good! I was just a dumb kid at 25, oh wait, still that dumb kid 😂
I got off with a girl when I was 17... POW!!
I thought I remember reading that he was sixteen or seventeen when the band started.

84 i think

Best version of One Hundred Years. Robert’s improving on the guitar towards the end is mind-blowing.
And a great translation on drums by a great drummer.
Came here to say the same. It just rips.
Absolutely insane 🔥
What a great set. Love it ♥️
Bring back the 80s in general, an amazing time for music.
Awesome concert...when concerts were 100% about the music. No special effects.
Apart from the flanger pedals.
This is the 1984 I wish we were living😩
I used to have this vhs. It was stolen by a girl I was dating. This is perhaps one of the rarest and best of the cure.thank you to the person who uploaded for us to enjoy.
It’s like $3-400 if u wanna buy a copy 😂
rock and roll.
It was a Dream! when I saw Roba_Smi (The Cure)played in front of me at Osaka. This Film is so important to remember beautiful era❤.
Best Cure concert ever. That's a fact!
@@musik_non_stop I think he means best set list and I agree
Before The Cure in Orange, there was this... If you were lucky enough to find it !
They were in Better from here than in Orange.. Especially Robert..
38:37 chill bro... (I love him)
It was such a powerful lineup ! Its to bad it didn't get more time to grow...Always had an ear for Andy Anderson's drumming. RIP
The back stage scene between 59:02 and 59:37 is hilarious. There are Chris Parry and Perry Bamonte running around and opening some bottle of wine or champaign, and Lol refusing to take a sip because he wants to get back on stage :)
Andy was a fkn machine 🔥
My favorite The Cure drummer so far

Saw them in ‘84. My first concert and it was so cool. I was right up front.
A hundred years performance is just dazzling. This line up was amazing.
Dare I say better than In Orange?

play for today!
timeless music
god bless you robert❤
to me the best Cure Era
Thats a fact..greets from germany Dirk
In the dressing room Perry is there as a roadie! How cool!
Never thought the Cure would be rocking ZZTop Deguelo backstage 14:19 before a concert.
I started listening to Cure when I was in high school. The first album was Standing on the Beach and then I tried my best to buy all their back issues and new ones. I had a letter written by Robert. He was cute and funny.
Interesting to hear the faster tempo with this drummer. The Japanese ladies seem to adore Robert!
このライブに行ったおねーさん方羨ましい!
はーい🙌 ありがとねぇ〜☺
Amazing concert! I saw them in Nottingham at this time. Arguably at the top of their game! But the Head on the Door tour was brilliant too! Saw them in Leeds tram shed!
Head on the Door is my favorite.
Robert always was kind to his fans. He took its time in the end with them. Few will did that. Great musician all around
Never forget you, Andy❤️
I was in Japan about a week ago and it came to mind, "wow watching the cure here must have been such an experience." now im here, loved watching this. I saw them play in nyc about a year ago.
'Charlotte Sometimes' for the encore, I would have been losing it. 🤩
I like this because it's the Top tour, my favorite album. But also because it's the first time the early albums and the synthpop hits were both performed by a full band. Charlotte sometimes sounds divine in this live version
Can we just get this on Blu-Ray already? Best Cure show ever imo
I am so happy I experienced the 80s and 90s stream of timeless music and surreal lyrics. Long live the Cure ❤
Absolutely crying at how bad the Lovecats was 😂 forgetting his words all over the place! Love you Robert
Favourite era. I still remember the first time hearing "Shake Dog Shake".
Play for today so slow version...amazing like time stretching
I love that ZZ Top is being played in their dressing room! 🙂
Wish they had shown the japanese audience once or fucking twice, jesus Would be nice to see what Japanese cure fans looked like back then.
Oh ja.... Das waren noch Zeiten🤩😍😉Hammer,,,
One of the best Cure concerts from the eighties!
Saw his first American tour 1982 the walk....hooked
I can see why he was my first real rock star crush at 15 ❤
Just found this, c'est incroyable ❤
40 years later,Wow! Would’ve loved an anniversary rerelease box set of this show… until then this will do!!🖤
Grandiose! Iinimitable, j'enai les frissons❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I very much appretiate the struggle with the chopsticks
Same here I seriously can't use them
Концерты the cure не хуже альбомов,а порой даже и лучше) ))))
This concert featured more guitar work from Robert Smith than any I've seen - live or recorded. Porl Thompson usually carries more of a load on guitar.
That Stingray sound was everything in this recording, it cuts like a knife, this was a reference sound for my own Stingray sound on stages ! ;-)
Thanx for this ! probably one of the best The Cure line up !
Best band ever!! The whole band is on fire!! ❤🎼 ♥️
You know that I love you
Love 12:51 just to see Robert going over the set list
ありがとうございます。
Thank you so much to share all those rare and amazing videos archives, some I know for decades but only from the audio bootlegs
This is fantastic

Es increíble este concierto mi favorito
I remember when this came out! Rented it from Rocket Records in Saugus and had to leave a $75 deposit:)
Waow love love love
Robert looked really sweaty in this one
"no we aren't doing one called Robert because we'll give that one a miss but we will do one called the empty world"
The best Band ever!
Thanks for upload !
TROP BOOONNNN!!! OHH!!! THANKS JEYEM
Ese moreno en la bateria fenomenal y la voz juvenil de smith...muy buen concierto....
Andy “La máquina” Anderson, el mejor batería que tuvo the cure. Dios lo tenga en su gloria.
Excellent - I've seen so little video of this lineup and such great coverage of The Top. The audio is great and sounds a lot cleaner (less distorted) than "Concert". Excellent vid Thanks!
Holy hell what an absolute TREAT.
when they played the lovecats i thought it was funny how robert was forgetting the lyrics lol
Anyone want some tea?
Please add any quality kickass vintage CURE shows from 1980-1983 if possible

I really do love this show. Was a go to for cd bootleg at least once a week if not more.
Muito bom show me lembro quando ser fosse hoje, fui o primeiro show que vi do The cure desde daí virei fã.
Tremendo recital, hermanoooooooooo
Me encanta shake dog shake, abrieron el recital tremendoo jajsaj
This vid is insanely good. Thank you!
Thanx for this❤
thx and 💝
What a cool line up at this period. Lol was there, and Porl. I wish Boris had been on drums already, it’d have been perfect.
Amazing performance.
In my opinion, the visual kei style of bands like X Japan, Luna Sea, Dir en grey exc was heavily influenced by the aesthetic of bands like The Cure.
Many thanks for sharing this very unbelievable insane genious concert!
my fellow cure lovers, I need a tracklist *love heart emoji*
The walk by Robert Smith
진짜 60년대부터 일본은 실시간으로 당대 유명뮤지션은 다 간듯... 이거 진짜 부러움.
Thanks for this material!
Συναυλιάρα!! Το ξενυχτάω ακούγοντας, και την εχω καταβρειιιιιιι
I think this is Andy Anderson's last show with the Cure if I'm not mistaken
Wow you really love your 1994❤❤❤❤
...and right after that last clip ended of Andy counting out Robert, Andy lost it on the security guards and eventually everyone else and was out of the band before sunrise...
80 81 82 was their best....

Grande The Cure los mejores del mundo e inmortales 🇦🇷...
Is this Perry Bamonte who is coming in at 59:05 ???
Yes when he was a roadie for them.
You can hear Robert say "It's alright Perry, I've got some"
Yes!
