Feel like I have to clarify, mansplaining is when someone over explains something in a condescending way. The only reason why it's called MANsplaining is due to the long years of women being considered unable or invaluable. Truth is we all seem to do it, no matter the gender. Unfortunately, not all social stereotypes and habits have left our society and as such its still a prodominantly male issue. Say thanks to your parents and their parents and their pare- you get the idea.
That is all, please stop getting upset when someone uses the term. Instead, try to not do it, as such no one will hold you at fault fellas.

No disrespect but it’s a little weird that you accuse someone of “mansplaining” something to you when you ask a question but then go straight into “I need to be talked to like a child when it’s something I don’t understand”. Those statements together don’t make sense, if you’re asking a question about it, it is not wrong for the other person to assume you’re confused about that topic and try to explain the topic as a whole. Most of the time I can bet the person is only trying to be helpful and nice but you’re taking it as hostile for whatever reason. Accusing others of “mansplaining” is toxic in itself, imagine doing something nice while the person you’re helping thinks you’re being hostile. How would that make you feel?

how did you put them up tho?
I just used some tape and folded it in half to make it double sided and most of the time I used 4, 1 for each corner! Some of the smaller prints tho came with sticky tabs that I used to hang them up

woah this comment section is crazy, came here to get some tingles and y’all decided to go full anti feminist!! i’m not sure you guys know what mansplaining is. mansplaining is when a man explains something in a manner than can be considered sarcastic or as if you’re simplifying it down on purpose for the fact that you think they won’t understand your explanation already because they are a woman. Of course you can’t automatically know the intention of what someone says, but using your pattern recognition skills is useful especially when someone lies about whether or not they mansplained. Some of you got mad because she said something along the lines of being needed to be talked to when it comes to explaining like a child. This is different from mansplaining. Usually, this idea of needing a simplistic explanation is because of a neurodivergence situation or a lack of understanding or communication skills to understand what the person is saying. There is a difference between a man doing this once you told him you needed a specific explanation, rather than when a man automatically does it without asking because he thinks you might not be as knowledgeable in the topic because of your gender, especially if the topic is a common knowledge situation where you need a quick and precise explanation. Mansplaining can also occur when a woman is explaining or about to explain, and he interrupts to “fix” or “explain for her.” Mansplaining isn’t “woke” it’s a real think, and the lack of understanding of what mansplaining is really shows.
How would you know when someone is talking down to you based on your gender tho? I'd always go in with the assumption that someone might not know enough about something so that they clearly know what I'm on about (I'd ask them if they know) and the thought of gender never comes to my mind. Also, I feel like the term mansplaining is getting out of hand these days bcs I sometimes hear girls say that a guy is mansplaining when really they just don't like what the guy is saying but I don't think that's how you use the term correctly?

The term refers to when men condescendingly talk down to a woman because they assume that she will be less informed or intelligent. I understand that it is hard to grasp what I am saying without having experienced it, but rather than having a respectful, direct tone, it is mocking and devaluing. It can be very patronizing and often resembles how an adult would speak to a child.

I didn't know if you had tried any character-based videos, because I had the idea for a masked ASMR superhero (in the style of The Incredibles or Batgirl) that I think could be fun. The premise would go something like this. The viewer would be injured or distressed by a villain, but you would show up to help, using your superpowers of ASMR. Throughout the video, the viewer would ask who you really were, but you would tell them how important it is that you wear your mask, and keep your identity a secret, but, at some point, you would trust the viewer enough, to unmask yourself and show them who you really are. I think you would do an awesome job. Keep up the great work.

I was wondering why the likes were removed until I read the comments. I think a lot of people are exaggerating so I still left a like as I wouldn't even have noticed that line had it not been for the comments. However, they are right in the end. Most of those people who are "mansplaining" are literally just trying to help. The thing is, especially with calculus, what you're not understanding might be something that's quite obvious for us. So, explaining everything from the start can seem helpful to us. And when I say us, I mean everyone, not just guys. I got "mansplained" a lot by a couple of girls and one guy in particular in high school because they were the best in the class at maths but I never saw it as a negative thing. As a general rule, if you're the one whose asking a question, it's very rude for you to then say "thank you for mansplaining". Not trying to hate or anything, I'm just giving life advice

It's just bizarre to assume someone is being condescending when you need things to be explained to you "like a kid". Regardless of gender, if they answer your one question about something and you don't get it, people will explain from the top (if they happen to be helpful). This is especially true for process-heavy things like maths.

@bridgette7635 The issue with this is making it about men, when it isn't. That's the issue with the term "mansplaining" in general. It's used in a way that dismisses actual explanations. The only situations in which a person explaining something (even if they're being condescending) would be "mansplaining" would be traditionally male roles. People can be condescending males without mansplaining. Unless someone outright says something like "because you're a woman", then it's just a harmful word to throw around. Men already face enough sexism as is (women do as well; I'm not saying only one side gets this), so if you have to use a discriminatory word, it's best to at least use it at a time when it's appropriate
