Great advice. I used my Action3 for the first time in a museum with obviously low light conditions and was so disappointed with the outcome. Stand still...okay. Slowly move around and it was as if there was a focusing problem with a blur followed by more sharpness each time I moved. I was hoping to find the reason for this and a solution...Thank You!
Hi, can you please tell me the best setting for Arora light. Australia will have the best seen tonight. Thanks
Good clear information, thank you!
No problem!
Thank you! I will give that a try for sure
No problem! Good luck!
Great tips! I've just got my Action 3 and was completely unprepared for the blur caused by EIS. It's obvious in hindsight of course. I found that when walking around I need a shutter speed of at least 1/240th to keep it looking good, which of course is useless in very low light. So I've come to the same conclusion as you, that a gimble is the only option. You're also right, we have action cameras partly because we don't want a gimbal, but we end up needing one anyway! :)
Thanks! It’s a challenge getting usable low light footage from an action camera especially when you’re moving around.
the blur is only at night or also during day?
because with decent light its stabilization seemed quite amazing!
@@manishgoyal7677 only at night
Yeah same happens with my gopro, my shutter speed is set to 1/240, otherwise when in shadows the stabilizer goes nuts and the image gets all messy. Decided to buy a gimbal and get rid of digital stabilizer altogether, if i need to stabilize more i'll use reelsteady or gyroflow.
very helpful informaiton - thnk you very much
Thanks! Glad it helped.
I want to take videos mostly inside my house, will this camera be good for that or will it not give me good clarity due to shooting inside. and will Instagram ruin the quality even more
i canot find meniu in my osmo 3 where is meniu !!! how to change iso and other

3:38 when you say "there's NOISE" what does that mean ?
The image isn’t as clear.
Awesome videos. That being said. I am soooooo new to these action cameras. I race dirt bikes and going to use the Action 3 for that. What setting would you recommend I use?
Thanks! I would try 4k, frame rate 60 you can slow it down a little if you want, stabilization set to Rocksteady+ or HorizonBalancing. You should be good setting the exposure to automatic assuming it’s a sunny day.
Awesome. Thx again.
@@a.v.withrodney does this have wind cancellation or?
@@matbailey85 Yeah it does
The image quality at low light is iffy. I did a night time video and some parts were so dark I had to get rid of em. The ones I kept, I added a lit which made the video look kinda cool, but overall it’s terrible at night lol I’d rather use my iPhone 14+ instead at night. Depends on how I feel
Are you using the Osmo action 3 in your studio to create this video?
No. I use a Sony ZV-E10 with 15mm F1.4 sony g master lense for my talking head shots.
Alot of ppl are mistaken this low light blur for a bad camera and returning it. From my experience it is a nice camera but really struggles in low light compared to my gopro hero7 . It almost seems the coating on the lens is to dark. I have kept my osmo 3 and enjoy using it in the day time.
I agree. The OA3 performs really well in the daylight.
@A.V. with Rodney after closer inspection dosnt look like a 2.8 lense lookes like 3.8 arpeture lens .
Have they fixed the focus issue? I have returned my osmo action 3 combo Sept 22 built I am. Contemplating wether I should buy it again in three months ou get the Gopro 10 combo about the same price.. Wish you well
Yes the focus has been sorted, I have 2 one from 09/22 and one from 11/22.
@@mrmutna6842 for some even Nov batch is terrible. I will wait for Jan or Feb batch which means I can buy only in April may
I’m not sure if the focus issue has been fixed. Some people say it has been and some people say hasn’t… similar to the 2 replies you’ve already received. It seems like it should be fixed by now… I would definitely buy directly from DJI so your hopefully getting the newest batch.
@@mrmutna6842 I have returned my osmo action 3 adventure combo and got my money back I will be most probably be getting another osmo action 3 in a couple months.. Thank you for help wish you well
@@roninr8199 I am making a trip to UK in May I would like to have a smal camera inicial a was thinking in using my phone but I use the phone for banking and uber and maps I may ran out of batteries so I decided for an action camera.. I was undecided in gopro 10 ou osmo action 3.. I was blown away with the magnetic mount.. Arownd March I will get another osmo action 3... Thank you for your help
How abt white balance?
I left it on auto.
Great video idea and tips! Maybe a collaboration one day?!
Thanks! I’m always open to a potential collab!
Frames per second has nothing to do with light - light is based upon iso, shutter speed, and f-stop. Using a slower frames per second improves the low light performance only because you also are using a slower shutter speed to match the recommendation of the shutter speed being twice the frame rate.
In action cameras some shutter speeds are locked depending on the frames per second selected, that's why the lower fps, the slower you can select the shutter speed.
3:34 doesn't look noisy, my gopro hero 9 looks a LOT worse than this 🤣
