The most enjoyable part of playing a card game for me is sending my opponents to the shadow realm. Ooops! I mean kicking them out of the Digital World. Thanks again for the games! It was super fun and intense and some day I will challenge you again!
The best part of playing card games, for me, is for interesting and unexpected events to happen. The winner and loser are less important than what happens during the game. The twists and turns, the close calls, the clutch comebacks. A quote from a book I read recently sums it up quite nicely, imo. “The point isn’t to win?” I asked. “The point,” Bredon said grandly, “is to play a beautiful game.” He lifted his hands and shrugged, his face breaking into a beatific smile. “Why would I want to win anything other than a beautiful game?” -Patrick Rothfuss, The Wise Mans Fear.
I personally play card games because it's a type of game that allows me to pick something I can relate to and battle it out against others who do the same, which of creates a great sense of community. That's why to me the most important is the art/card designs, fundamental mechanics and the people I play with
There’s a series a Yugioh RUclipsr made called Duel Nights. I think it would be cool if you tried it with Digimon. They start with the first booster yugioh released, and get 3 copies of all the cards in the pack. They have 4 piles and 4 players that grab a pile and grab 1 card and rotate the piles until all cards are gone. Then they make a deck and battle. I think they follow the rules of the packs release too. I think it would be cool if you did it with Digimon one day. Nice video
No more side stacking Steven. (I realize this is for funsies and doesn't matter, so I dont mean in these kinds of vids, but like in tourneys and official stuff) Side stacking is illegal. Its a convo that came up recently, and everyone was pointing at you. Maybe just follow "best practices" especially since ppl use your videos to learn how to play.
Yes please!! It looks gross and isnt how the game is supposed to be played, I love your videos but the side stacking is a real turn off unfortunately! Please go back to regular stacking
@@trentedwards6444 its not allowed, pr the rules. The inheritable need to be fully visible at all times, and side stacking obviously makes that impossible.
I love you both, but you both have weird ways of playing: Steven with the side stacking, and Jeffrey with memory move before he actually makes the play. It's a tie for me on playing and box opening. They're both enjoyable.
It would be so cool if you could pretty please talk about Force of Will? We definitely could use more hype for the game. Would be greatly appreciated 🙏
Wait, he used labramon and demiveemon at [13:09] and again at [14:20] during the same turn, but those effects are once per turn. Am i missing something?
Only if you cannot draw during the draw step, so had I not been able to win on the turn I ran out of cards yes I would’ve have lost. Hence the drama lol
Uhm question, Me and my brother are starting to play digimon but we don't have a fully comprehend the rules, like what's considered "ON PLAY" or Do I draw a card every time I digivolve a digimon with it not haveing any effect?
On play is whenever you place a card on the field from either the hand, trash, source, or effect. On play is NOT digivolution or promoting from raising.
@@XxXShadowchanXxX ok but I watch a lot of digimon and uses the 'ON PLAY' effect when digivolving, and is breeding area to battle field considered on play ?
@@MartinJoshuaSChua Moving from breeding to the play area is not considered "playing" the card. Some people call it "promoting". And are you sure they are not use a "when digivolving" effect? The only thing I can think of what you are are describing is either the Digixros mechanic were on play you can stuff certain cards under the digimon and things happen OR a very specific deck that can use on play effects when digivolving BUT ONLY if a certain tamer is in play that has the ability to allow it. Do you remember what deck they were using?
DNA digivolving ignores the summoning sickness on its sources. Equally if the source digimon had negative effects on them (like -DP) those effects would also cancel as the new digimon, paildramon in this case, is considered a NEW digimon
35:39 why did you randomly draw a card when you played the Agumon? Is that a cheat I see? (Not on purpose) But I dont see why you would have drawn a card for hard playing the Agumon
Not in Digimon. It's unlike Yugioh and I believe Magic. In Digimon, you can only lose would attempt to draw from an empty deck during the draw phase. Attempting to draw empty during the main phase does not result in a deck out loss.
@@MickeyYeahbaby every other card game except Weiss schwarz I think 😂 Digimon has some really backwards rules compared to a lot of games, like the winner of a game getting to choose who goes first next game instead of the loser
@@danieledwards4310 Actually, loser does choose if they wanna go 1st or 2nd. Look at @10:22. Steven won with MelgaX but next game, asked Avault for turn order. Ever since I learned the game, it's been that way. But yes, Digi does have some interesting rules. No limit on hand. No limit to security stack. Every color allowed. It's something alright.

I would say the term sending someone to the shadow realm is acceptable in every Card game
@@MasketGaming in digimon it would be sending them to the dark area
