    I’m 15 me and my best friend recently bought a 16 foot job boat and we already had our elk hunting bows that we set up with ams reels and we spent our life saving on this boat and ended up shooting over 1000 Buffalo carp and 500 carp just this year we’ve never had so much fun in our lives thank you for getting me into bowfishing and I love your videos keep it up

      Start selling fish! You could make the money back for the boat in a couple years for 10-20$ per fish, times that by 1500 (750 for 10$ and 750 for 20$) and you get 22.5k, that is if you get good fish. Selling fish is a good way to make money! Even if you only get 11.2k a year that is still very good! You make money and hang out with your Best Friend, what could be better?
      If you split it it's still 6.6k a year. If you get 16875$ per year that is still very good, do that for a couple of years and you got a good apartment, if you both work jobs you can also rent an apartment and all that jazz, it is a fun activity and you make sustenance from it. You lose no fun and can secure a better savings account.

      @@BoaresAddja $10-20 per fish, for carp? And a good apartment for $16k a year? Firstly, bowfishing will leave a hole in fish, not good for the meat to say the least, plus you would need to keep them on ice etc to keep quality. And the fact its carp....

      @@stephencooper9753 I really dont know anything about Carp since they are not here where I am.

      @stephencooper9753 4 года назад

      @@BoaresAddja So you just assumed they are worth $10 - 20 each? :-) Yeah, not likely to get much at all for them for meat. Some places use them for fertilizer, and while a few people eat them, they are unlikely to pay much at all for it, seeing as how they are so plentiful usually.

    You dont really need to bowfish off a boat.
    If you cant afford one you can just look for a shallow spot near shore that is sunny. Carp love to come up in the shallows to "sun" during the warmest part of the day.

    A side people need to consider is the simple fact that hunting is not only either sport/fun or food. Some people, like myself and these men, are shooting primarily trash fish. In my area, we kill Gar and Carp (and carp fish IE buffalo, asian carp) Gar are a toothy long nose fish that dominate eco systems. If not pulled from the water, they will kill the eco system. Theyre like a sharks in a guppy tank. That is not an exageration to make a point.
    Furthering the issues of gar, they eat anything. That means all the game fish too. Walleye, bass, catfish, rare paddlefish, therer own, they don't care.
    Carp eat nonstop, focusing on algae and moss. Thats good, but in the extreme numbers these fish reach, they will eat it all and ruin the natural filtration of the stream or pond.
    So I, and a small group of econauts with spend all summer pulling these fish out of the water by bow, net and line, killing them quickly and and tossing them back in to promote the growth of our dwindling catfish populations. Numbers come back over winter and spring and we go back at it.

These people that piss and moan about harming animals just don't get that most of us actually know what these species are doing to the environment and we are actually encouraged to keep the population in control. (Well, in some areas near me at least.)

    Great video. I am new and just bought a reel for my bow it's a reel that you have to pull in by hand. How do you connect those reels to your bow. I have a Mathews mission craze

    Looks like fun, but at the same time I would get the feeling that it's too easy and takes the fun out of the sport of fishing. There is so much more that goes into play when fishing with just bait.

    These guys need to learn if they see the arrow tip has not fully penetrated the fish through both sides, to use their hand to thrust the arrow all the way through before they attempt to boat the fish. Only way them on board without the risk of loosing them.

      They are carp (junk fish) that's why it legal to shoot then and not the bass and pike (non junk fish) if the junk fish die its mor ever then it will ever be bad

      Carp actually are invasive, but I still hate wounding something and not killing it

    Do you eat any of them or how do you dispose of them if you don’t? I know some aren’t very good.

    Great video guys. Was wondering what draw weight you recommend for bowfishing. I use my deer hunting bow for fishing, but I don't really like pulling 70 lbs. all day while bowfishing

      We typically start around 50#. If the fish are deep we turn 'em up...shallow we turn 'em down.

    Hey can you send me a personal video on how to attach a fishing reel to a bow? What did you use for line, arrow, and the arrowhead?

    do you need to aim high or low to compensate for the refraction of the water? ive never tried this but would really like too though im not that good with a bow

    • @WHEELZ1
      @WHEELZ1 9 лет назад

      Megalixer84 low. also depth of the fish comes into play. the more you do it, the better you get at guessing the depth of the fish, and knowing how low to shoot.

    pretty cool video. no need to get fancy to have fun. the great thing is, a person does not need to spend much at all to get started.
