  • WARNING video contains extremely long slow motions sequences of paddling.
I guess this is "Part II" of the slow motion videos. This video is only made since my slow motion video from 2010 was pretty popular and this kind of video is easy to do. This is quite a long one so for hard core paddling enthusiasts only I suppose.

I am interested in finding out the time between when the blade tip touches the water and when it is completely submerged. I'd like to figure out how long in milliseconds that is, but I don't see how that can be figured out without knowing the framerate of the original video. Is that information available?

Interesting how long the paddle is in the water, you don't take it out till well past your hips. From what i can see on other videos this varies though paddlers. Why do you keep the paddle in so long?

I don't think what's wrapped around him is a bungee to make his rotations harder. Take a closer look at his paddle and his hands. You see a lot of wires/cords all over the shaft and around his hands. Also there's a box on the back of his boat that the wires connect to. It's indeed interesting to find out what it is....

I don't know about Kayaks, but I wonder why they don't use a paddle that mimicks the effects of a bent shaft canoe paddle. I see him pulling alot of water up out of the lake.
