- There are some tricky dilemmas for the quintet of courageous contestants as the rush to wins Greg Davies’s golden head hots up. Lucy Beaumont wonders if she should risk flicking a forbidden switch, Julian Clary wonders if he needs more than one pie, and Sue Perkins wonders if a deer head is preferable to a boundary line. Alex Horne makes copious notes as Susan Wokoma performs some interpretive dance and Sam Campbell rips off his own head.

In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.
Alex being genuinely befuddled by Greg asking about botox was a delight.
If Alex had fillers or botox, he wouldn't have been able to make all those facial expressions 😆
I love that everyone keep needling him as well. 😂
It's always so fun seeing him caught off guard since he's such a schemer with the tasks he makes. Everyone ganging up on him and keeping the botox gag going was hilarious.
Someone on Reddit said they were in the audience and apparently Greg did it the entire night so he could be sure it got in
Maybe he had a little tan? Sometimes that will tighten up the skin.
"Don't make me fart in the darkness listening to my own name!" Taskmaster continues to provide the English language with endless treasures. Sentences never before heard or even pondered

Wow I just had one of those wild moments where I was scrolling through the comments and hit yours at precisely the moment where Sue says that line.
It was like my internal voice became Sue for a second, very weird.
that task seemed like ACTUAL torture lmao
Sam and Lucy getting missing that high five and then getting right after being called absolutely deranged was just so sweet😂
Spoiler warning I guess for folks who read the comments before they finish the ep-
I adored that, but also how in the live task Sam seemed to immediately look at Lucy after the cooperating comment, then they just politely helped eachother
😂😂
Poor Sue had a rough show 😅😂
At what time is it?
@@Seyfert73 6:23 for the failed attempt and 35:04 for the successful high five.
The physical representation of Sam's continuity error (hair cut) during the cardboard cut-out task was great
I honestly think he did it on purpose to fuck with the show.
@@richardjones3827I feel like you're right, especially with the blond hair later in the series lol
Funniest part of the episode was when alex was asking lucy where she thought everyone else put their likness cutouts and he asked where she thought Julian put his and she pointed next to hers and says "there" and alex says "thats quite close to yours. Why did you put yours there then" and she said "psssshgg..i didnt know at the time".
I laughed so damn hard and i cant believe that part was completely glossed over. That may have been the funniest part of the season so far.
😂😂😂😂 right? She is such a genius of a loon.
Alex's and Lucy's respective weirdness just meshed so well there
Julian @42:20 trying to get Lucy back on her circle is just like when he reminded her to put her hands behind her back for the pineapple final task. I LOVE THEM.
And when he put last ball on her head he reminded her to say "ball" it is so sweet how he looks out for her in these small moments.
This seems to be just a wonderful group of sweet-natured people. I love them all.
yes, so sweet ❤️
The least “weird” I’ve ever seen Lucy was when she was told to act “weird” in this episode
it was weird to her
it's just as if someone asked boris johnson to act weird then he shows up with a tidy hair cut and a fitted suit. it would be weird to see him like that
She is not weird she is brilliant, she was acting from the first episode.
Weird and brilliant are not mutually exclusive
Lucy Beaumont going for Greg's Golden Head before going up to the prizes, I love her with all my heart, bless her
To me, that came off as an intentional joke. Does anyone else agree?
I assumed she was going to kiss the head again, like what she did when she won on the previous episode
@@sherryxia8362 It was definitely intentional. She kissed it when she won the previous episode, so I assume Greg was stopping her doing that this time.
Oh my god I totally missed that! I swear this cast is so weird I love them so much❤
The “Not that” sent me 😂😂
"Don't make me fart in the dark listening to my own name" Not a sentence I ever imagined hearing, but here we are, Sue Perkins is hilarious!
that live task just further supports the idea that this series' cast is the most friendly, non-hostile and cooperative cast out of the entire shos and i'm all here for it ❤
which is why this is my least fav cast....they simply do not give a damn.
@@getdavo1Honestly yeah, kinda ruins the live tasks when they help each other from the get-go. It’s one thing to help the person in last place just to finish, it’s another to decide “oh let’s just make Julian win for no reason.” 😂
I love how cooperative they are, the "winning" is so hilariously not the point :-). Pure comedy gold! I wish they would lean I to it more and do group victory celebrations when they defeat Alex 😂
Alex looked so annoyed when Sue asked him if they could cooperate 😂
The last episode too with sue sacrificing her points for Julian. It's wholesome and I'm here for it.
I know Lucy is talking about being in a NICU incubator, but the alternate image that she's some kind of unhinged gremlin who was lab-grown under UV light is so funny to me 😂
I am 61 years old and I was born 3 months premature I lived in an incubator.
I was also in an incubator and the idea that I could refer to myself as some sort of lab grown homunculus is wonderful.
I absolutely pictured Lucy in an egg incubator 😂
My mind went to the same place. It's something I could hear salad fingers saying
@@meloncholy428what happened before incubators?!
I love how they immediately helped each other in the live task. No hesitation just good vibes between everyone.
The editing of Wayne and our contestants’ gyrations was inspired.
An inspired creation
Sam is the happiest grown up I have ever seen. The way he laughed at 32:27 is just adorable.
Right?!
gawd i know that was too cute
There is something beautiful about a man in his 30s still being able to acess that impish childlike glee ☺😁
And then that laugh after the weird handshake at 29:55
This made me wonder how old the whole cast was, I'm shocked to find out Susan is 36! I gave her 25 max!! Damn
Who else hoped that Susan would win this episode, simply so she could win back all her crappy prize task items?
I'm pretty sure she'll get them back regardless😂.
They'll all go back to her anyways lol
lucy is my champion this season
came looking for this comment
I find it funny that Lucy won the water bed last episode, gave it back to Susan, only to win it again this ep. 😂
Sam and Lucy's failed high-five was so beautifully awkward! 😂
Then they high-five perfectly, when they are being pointed out as being awkward for a later task.
Let the memes commence
Autism/adhd solidarity lol
Somehow these two remind me so bad of those two in high school who clearly like each other but are so Incredibly awkward around each other you don't know if it's cute or terrible 😅
Lucy is like a nice cat and Sam is like a Shih Tzu 😂
Sam and Lucy are like weird siblings whose parents left them alone in a basement too often as children 🤣🤣
They must be children of divorce.
So you’re saying the weirdness is a coping mechanism for boredom?
The lady who used to watch Lucy in "Brother Alex" is (to quote Sue Perkins) "a concern"
"Uncle Julian managing the two lunatics"
Julian Clary is just so gently brutal, it's magnificent to see.
This episode's banter is probably one of the funniest ones, Greg bugging Alex about having surgery done or something was so funny, especially Alex's reaction! "I'm like two decades younger than you!" haha
EDIT: I love that they kept bringing it up during the episode...! The best one was Julian during the cardboard cutout task (the 3rd recorded one) the "that was before his surgery" that was so good and so cold blooded hahaha
He seemed so genuinely flummoxed by the question too.
@@Bedevere I know right?! That's how you know not everything is scripted hahaha
It goes both ways.. or three ways, really.. Sometimes Greg says something unscripted and catches Alex/the contestants by surprise.. sometimes it's Alex.. and sometimes a contestant will say something that breaks everyone, including Greg/Alex, and those are great cause no one expects it haha
That’s a dig. And totally funny
@@Bedevere this is unrelated but thank you for indirectly introducing me to the word Flummoxed.
It has a spot on my list of favorite words, right up there with the likes of Toodles, Discombobulated, and Sloop.
Julian is good at throwing barbs Alex's way.
The speed with which Lucy and Sam helped each other was adorable
Not to be sappy, but I had an absolutely awful day at work, and it's so nice to be able to come home and decompress with a bowl of hot soup and a new episode of taskmaster. Thank you for the upload, truly!!
For the Wayne task, the time only starts when they open the front door. I was certain someone was going to notice and go out the back door or perhaps even climb out a window
@o.b.7217in series 4 Joe Lycett got a time of zero by doing the task without needing to read the task
@o.b.7217 don’t remember the episode but it was to open a mayo jar covered in vaseline and they couldn’t leave the room
The more I watch this series, the more I'm convinced that Lucy found a secret task telling her to do at least one clumsy or silly thing per task and Julian probably found one telling him to insult Alex every time they meet. It just seems to happen too frequently to be natural!
interesting... i hadnt considered it may have been found already.
oh i thought that was their characters, but i'm not familiar with their comedic styles enough to know for sure.
Hmmm, something like that would fit TM 🤔
Oh with Julian it absolutely is natural.
Haha maybe. I really do hope someone did/does find the task. If it exists 😂
As per the allegory of the long spoons -- "In each location, the inhabitants are given access to food, but the utensils are too unwieldy to serve oneself with. In hell, the people cannot cooperate, and consequently starve. In heaven, the diners feed one another across the table and are sated."
In 16 seasons, against all odds and the set-up of the show, this group is the only one that has known heaven.
Yeah, this group is by far my favorite. The friendly vibe is too endearing. I had missed that feel since S12 and S9
I laughed so hard when Lucy was creeped put by her cardboard cutout.......and then it started walking! 😂😂😂😂 God this show is always so funny!
long time since we've had a painel with such "misbehaved classroom" energy. big series 7 vibes. the difference though is that this time greg seems to be another student instead of the teacher, esp with how they all ganged up on alex with the botox thing lol
This comment is making me want to go back and rewatch previous seasons 😂
I love the spirit of cooperation with this group
Inadvertent Parable Of The Long Spoons 😅
This episode again has so many funny bits. Just from memory:
-Susan offering up her past prizes (not the first time that's been done)
-Sam and Lucy missing their high five, and later on high fiving after Greg calls them deranged
-Sue getting no points in all of the filmed tasks
-Alex finally commenting on Greg's introductions of him and that leading to being accused of Botox
-Sam ripping his head off
-Alex clearly being unhappy when Sue suggests they can help each other in the live task
I swear this series has three times as many such bits compared to other series.
I love Sue and Susan for their genuine excitement and happiness this season just look at their reaction to seeing Wayne 😂
39:32 Since the beginning of Taskmaster, the editing team has always been competent, but this part makes me have an even greater appreciation for the team, very good.
Every once in a while, this show sparks a moment of pure joy, and when everyone (but Julian) saw Wayne was one of those moments.
Greg's intros have been insane this series 😂
Greg seems to be fed up with having to write intros…
Lucy Beaumont exudes both weird silly toddler energy and deranged indignant grandma energy simultenously. I love her.
the taskmaster team writing tasks always assume/predict there'll be multiple scenarii based on the participants personnalities, and yet this season everyone's unhinged. each week the participants are flicking a "DON'T" switch and fucking up the tasks, it's glorious
I had to google "scenarii" because I never heard of that being the plural and from what I can tell it's not a preferred plural form, unless in Italian but it loses the last "i". But it sounds way cooler so I'm going to start using it.
I love "scenarii"
The fact that they didn't have a ready to go tie breaker task tells me that they needed to use the tie breaker tasks in the show and had no extra because, I presume, some of the regular tasks were unusable disasters. I want to know what happened!
@@WonderWhatHappenedhad to google it too, « scenarii » is a mix between french and italian usage of the word and i’m french so that explains it 😅
@@sharkofjoyohhhhhh that’s interesting! didn’t thought about that at all
I've been in love with this show and watching it on youtube for years. Last week I went to London for a conference. I learned stuff, I went sightseeing, I met great people. But the highlight of my trip was definitely the possibility of watching this episode on TV. Best feeling ever 🥰 If I ever visit again, I need to somehow find my way to the studio recording 😁
Julian's low key disses and gentle disinterest are amazing 😂
I genuinely feel like once Lucy was asked to imagine where all the cutouts were, it became fact in her head. I don't know what that says about her (unlike insisting she didn't touch Wayne; i know well what that says), but i know i adore her for it.
Lucy made a very subtle joke at the very end, blink, and you'll miss it:
Greg: Go collect your items that make you groan!
Lucy: *grabs the golden head trophy*
Greg: Not that.
I think it was an intentional joke. Does anyone agree? (Some people aren’t sure if she’s playing a character or not)
@@sherryxia8362I thought she was going to kiss the head. She did it the previous time won an episode
Oh haha thank you for spelling out "groan" here, I'm only now understanding the prize task. 😂 I'm not English and I thought they said "grown" which made absolutely no sense and left me very confused
@@jk_originalTurn on the subtitles. They are not automatically generated, so they are very accurate and often help with understanding weird British accents as well. 😂
@@jk_original I am a native English speaker and I initially interpreted it the same way as you 😂 It wasn't until like halfway through that I realized it was "groan"
This one is by far my favourite season so far. I love this group of contestants, there is no weak link, all of them are greatly entertaining and have great chemistry!
I love your userpic
I wonder how Julien will demolish Alex with a "withering word" in this episode.
Gentle brutality, delivered perfectly every time.
@@NICHOLSON7777 It pains me in ways I didn't think pixels on a screen could. xd
He's savage.
"Looks like Alex without his beard" is an early entry.
Subtle roast already in the prize task lmao
"Confident and Alex. Two words one doesn't associate."

Ohmygod sue appeared like a bomb on julian 😂
The editors of this show 👏👏👏
“Flicking themselves silly” Don’t we all when we watch this brilliant show?!
The way the Wayne task was edited is top notch!
Hard to be Alex in this episode, first running botox joke, so beautifully supported by the gang, then Julian's demolishing impersonation, lovely :)
Sue's my favorite contestant. So funny in every aspect. Just like Susan, my favorite contestant because she's so cheerful. And Sam, my favorite contestant because of his wildly fantastic sense of humor. Lucy's my favorite contestant for how silly she is, and her moments of shock at her own profanity. Julian is also my favorite contestant, so funny with his dry wit and sarcastic attitude towards Alex.
Alex breaking character for Lucy - actually anyone who breaks because of Lucy - makes me laugh so much
I just knew Julian was gonna be awesome this season and he has not disappointed.
Speaking of Brian Blessed, that man needs to be on a TM Special.
He needs to be a full contestant.
Can you IMAGINE the bullshit he'd spin up in the studio?
@@stargate525I would DEMAND a directors cut of the episode.
Sam Campbell is just unbelievable. He wasn't impressionable to me at first, but then he kickstarted an incredible mix of childishness, fast thinking and that ''je ne sais quoi' of don't caring about the tasks at all. And on top of that, he still cares about the others more than his own success. Well, that sure is a fine lad.
6:30 ...a perfectly "on brand" high five between Lucy and Sam! 😂😂🤣🤣
Susans "I trained at RADA" in the intro has the same energy as Lee Mack, shouting that he's got a BAFTA 😂
This is one of the first series where I love every single contestant. They are all amazing in their own ways.
The Wayne task is the most beautiful/aesthetic task in the entire series. Total vibe.
Makes me sad that they cut out the commercial bumpers on youtube now cause nobody who watches it this way is going to see Alex singing his favorite hymn
Hats off to the crew having to keep track of all those switches.... my goodness that's a chore. It's like a live performance!
28:55 "My enthusiasm for the dance has Wayned." Lol, I sure hope he intended for that pun.
41:38 Sam about to cooperate until he realized it would hurt him, and then Lucy giving the win to Julian was pretty funny karma
This show is truly a Global phenomenon.
This show is so quaint yet entertaining.
Makes you wonder why the budget is so tiny.
@@pipster1891 What? Do you think those Party Poppers come cheap? 10 for a Pound! That's practically the Craft Services budget.
One of the best things about my Fridays. Can’t come soon enough!
The Sues are really good at the Wayne dance!! Somewhere Joe Wilkinson is cackling with joyous Glee at the sight of toes on the red green! Lucy just hit 100% adorable in the final task! I hope Lucy rubs this in Jons face every day, twice a day!
This cast is so crazy and fun. Sam during the contestant introduction in the studio 0:54 looked simultaneously confused and like he was being blinded by a personal headlight.😂
And I thought the Wayne task would be the funniest thing of this episode - tubemen like those are always fun to watch - but then the cardboard cutout task came around and... just the way it began... everyone reacting to "themselves" was so funny I genuinely started crying tears of laughter. And of course, the way it played out was hilarious and exciting as well 😂 simply fantastic episode
“You may not leave this room” was not on the switch task. . .I am floored that no one went to the lab to see what was happening!
True! But also they didn't even need to touch any switch either lol. I think I'd have just done nothing. It said the task is in the other room
Yeah, I feel like at least one person had to have asked and was told no, but they just didn't show it
@@nehamaw I'm pretty sure I'd have flipped everything but the don't switch for ten seconds on then off at the beginning and then sat there boring the audience for the rest
the fact that every just help each other at the end was the best.
the Wayne task and studio banter had me in stitches. I adore this group!
Thank you TM team for sharing this with the world 💝🥰
This is one of my favourite casts in years! Bravo on picking such perfect guests!
This group is really funny, cooperative and absolutely fun. I love this season a lot.
7:20 those hour glasses just broke my brain watching 2 drain sand to the bottom while the middle one is in reverse
"Confident and Alex, two words one usually doesn't associate" 😂
No Alex is never confident. He has to ring the Taskmaster and get his approval instead
Great editing on Wayne and the cardboard cutout task. I am a simple person, I like it when they make it look like everyone is in the same scene. Interested to hear a few things hopefully discussed on the podcast, like whether Sam's torn off head counted - perhaps it didn't matter hugely. Sue normally gives off a quite competent vibe even if she fails at something, so it was very funny to see her get too flustered to function in the live task - even though she was the one who suggested working together!
I can’t bear the thought of this series ending - I love each & every one of them!
I love that the contestants have just decided the live tasks are cooperative now. It's fun
Susan bringing in all her previous prize tasks reminds me so much of Victoria in Season 12 bringing in her Mr. Men plush from the previous episode only to get 5 points in the next!
Every series I think 'this is the funniest group they've had' only to be absolutely delighted by the next group.
Well now we know Lucy Beaumont is definitely not acting being deranged bc she had no idea what to do when told to act weird. While Sam Campbell ripped his own head off and threw it on the rack of an antlered animal, proving he definitely knows what weird is.
This is my favorite cast of all. Just the way they help each other out and lift each other up while still being incredibly entertaining
Sue Perkins found a humdinger of an autobiography title if ever she writes one:
"Farting in the dark to the sound of my own name"
Ready to pre-order my copy!
The way that Sam was running and jumping around the red green while attempting to cream pie Wayne, I thought _for sure_ that he had stepped on it at _some_ point. So imagine my surprise when it was revealed to us that only Lucy and Sue had stepped on the red green! Of course I’m happy for Sam that he didn’t disqualify himself, but I’m still genuinely kinda shocked! lol.
Little Alex Horne out there saving lives through his genius and hard work. ❤
I absolutely adore this group. Regardless of it being a competition, the amount of comradery warms my heart so much.
I think this is one of the rare crews where I really like everyone. Normally there is always a favourite and one I don't enjoy but not this time.
That high-5 attempt between Lucy and Sam solidifies a theory that I have had all season. I want to see the 2 of them host a game show together. Or anything in which they can interact with each other as the main focus of the show.
Apparently there's a podcast hosted by them coming out in 2024. "Lucy and Sam's Perfect Brains" is the name
I love how kind this season's cast are to each other!
Auction Gel sure got the short end of the gavel this week.
Pie Wayne might be my favourite task of all. Certainly a love letter to the format. Simple, messy, surreal, lets contestants compete while making fun of themselves while having fun, and all the lo-fi / gopro footage looks sensational in the edit with the quirky music. So memorable.
By far one of the most unhinged and best episodes I've ever seen 😂
The interpretative dances in the pie task were a favourite of mine this episode
25:02 The modern dance I didn't know I needed in my life.
Happy weekly Taskmaster everyone! Gosh I love this cast so much. Everyone's helping out and being deranged together
i've loved all the contestants in the series, but all of these guys together this season have really been my favourite.
Alex's excitement at 25:46 when he shouts "I've stopped the clock" and "Yeah"... so endearing
Julian and Sue have been my favourite this season.
This is my favorite episode of this series so far. I laughed so much.
"Don't make me fart in the dark listening to my own name!" is definitely another one for the Book of Quotes. (17:00)
I love how bewildered Lucy is anything something actually works out for her
'What's a Red Green?'
Me (a Canadian): The bearded guy with the suspenders, fishing hat, and duct tape. But why would anyone step on him?
I remember that show sometimes came in on our fifth channel
The task with the switches has to be one of the greatest tasks of the show so far!
I never thought it possible for a cast to be more unhinged than series 7. I have been corrected
