Nice hack on the bracelets and nice review! I really like your Silver-dialed blue Panda but for myself, I went with the blue dialed silver Panda and really love it! The bracelet is really nice as well! FYI, the movement is a Swiss Mecaquartz but I'm not sure which type it is for the Swiss. Seiko has the VH31 variants as their mecaquarts - Wolbrook and Newmark are doing great things with that movement in their vintage World Timer Skin Diver and 52 Field Watch (respectively). Bulova is also using their mecaquartz in their Lunar Pilot (The Other Moon Watch) which I think is an awesome watch in the bead-blasted case. All are great versions in their own while not being an homage but rather a re-issue of the original or a new version of an old classic. I love the mecca quartz since it's one that is a nice grab and go and not have to constantly set. Plus, despite the cost of the battery, their isn't any long term service cost associated with them!
Just bought the GRANDRALLY that has the blue face (normal panda) and steel bracelet and cannot wait to get it and wear it a ton! Funny thing is that I almost pulled the trigger on the GRANDRALLY that you bought with the leather strap but I HATE that strap, luckily held out and will soon add ZO9601 to my collection. Edit, got a great deal on it too. $270 shipped.

I totally agree worth you about that leather strap. I mean as I mention in the video I bought a whole other watch just to trade them out so I didn’t have to wear the leather one lol. Thankfully tho found a buyer pretty quick for the other watch/leather strap combo. But enjoy when you get this!
Yeah...I'm gonna need an update video out of you after some time. Great piece. I'm looking for a funky, 70's style rally chrono but not so 70's that it's cheesey. Something along the lines of the Tudor Monte Carlo or the Monaco. This has it. I'd wish they'd make it in mechanical, but then it'd be too thick.

Yeah I agree this has such a great look there 70s looking but still modern at the same time. You know what’s interesting I learned (I think) after this video is that it’s actually pretty much the same design as 70s era Heuer Carreras. Check out the Heuer 1153 and can see how similar and can even find this same color scheme. Apparently zodiac had a deal with Heuer back then and pretty much manufactured the same watches only under Zodiac branding. So it’s almost like a quartz reissue of one of their old watches/vintage Carrera! I totally agree tho don’t know why Zodiac wouldn’t make an automatic version of this at a higher price point. Think it would be a huge seller for them! Similar to what they do with the Sea Dragon (automatic) and the Grandhydra which I also own and have a recent video and is basically the same watch in quartz. In any case if you decide to pull the trigger hope you enjoy and thanks so much for watching/subscribing!
@@mgmodern7630 Yeah, I actually did know about the Heuer 1153. Heuer would basically just give Zodiac the watch and either Zodiac or Heuer would slap "Zodiac" on it. There are even vintage examples where one can start to make out the Heuer logo underneath. And that, my friend, is bloody cool! So this $500 watch has legit Heuer DNA from Heuer's glory days. What a well known little horological secret. I own a couple of luxery mechanicals and can say whole heatedly that I'm glad this is available in quartz. Chronos are so expensive to service and it's harder to notice the smooth sweep on a subdial. Plus it would probably be too big as an auto and only minimal WR.

Hi Matt! I recently bought the bracelet version that you have there but had to return it due to the clasp being almost impossible to open with my finger or nails. What has your experience been when opening the bracelet clasp? Thanks
Guillermo Sugasti hey there, thanks for watching! So I think this type of clasp was a little awkward for me to open at first since I’ve never had this type of clasp before. But I think I’ve gotten used to it and don’t mind it at all now. I usually can open it with my finger alone but sometimes gotta get my nail in there too. But not too much of an issue. Sorry to hear been a little tougher for you..I know from experience a tricky clasp can suckkk
