@@mariacristinadiazdiaz8436 Dear Maria, yes to start with it is confusing, but you need to slow down the video and run it a few times. These Balinese pants are very easy when you get the gist of it. Remember there are 4 folds of fabric, so you're cutting all 4 pieces at the same time. When the crotch is sewn and opened up you'll see the back and front all in one piece now. They have a pleat on each side, confusing at first but make total sense when you really concentrate.
So please give them another try, they are worth it. Hope this helps you😍🙏

Lol, that was exactly my thought! I had the same issue with jumpsuits years ago. Loved wearing them but when you were out ir at work and needed to use the restroom it meant you practically had to strip naked to go! And it was even worse in the cold weather season, brrrr

I have throughly digested this pattern and found the illusive extra length on the leg. It comes up a bit later. Thank you Mia, apologies for not quite getting that.
Also, the pleat measuring is nothing but brilliant. I wish I knew this when making a skirt a long time ago, laboriously measuring and pinning and ending up with slightly scew pleats, what a fiddle because I'm the ultimate perfectionist. So thank you so very much dear Mia, you are a genius with your designs. I love them all.
Hey, Greta, were you able to figure out the waist measurement? I'm having some trouble with it. Is her waist 23 inches, or is that a divided measurement somewhere?

Starting at 1:19
I had to do a bit of (surprise) math to understand how she got the measurements, but this is my understanding:
On the pattern shown, there are 4 measurements (done originally in cm) to get the lengths and the pattern's curves
1)
She asks you to make 3 measurements of yourself:
L = inseam /pant length from crotch = 70 cm
W = waist = 60 cm in her case
H = hip = 100 cm (which she didn't write down, but I got from H:10 & H:4 + 5 which based on those I take it means the hip measurement divided by 10, like a ratio, and also hip divided by 4 plus 5)
The overall fabric as a rectangle has:
width = W + H:10 (hip divided by 10)
length = H:4 (hip divided by 4) + 5 cm + L
I do wish she had written out the W, H, and L measurements plainly instead of just the calculations.

@@NataliyaMAL я думаю нужно сложить 2 половинки как одно целое и потом вставить резику сначала пришить пояс.
Наталия Мал , обрезаете завязки, вставляеете резинку , а по бокам сшиваете сколько хотите .Получаются по бокам разрезы .

Потому что передняя и задняя выемка одинаковые,а задняя должна быть больше.Вот поэтому у всех штаны в задницу залазят. Все испоганили в шитье. Не соблюдают технологию пошива.

Was just thinking that. Passed through 2 airports today with cubicles with urine on the floors and droplets on the toilet seat. These pants would be a nightmare.
I have a pair of wrap pants that I love, because they're super comfy. But yeah...public toilets are a challenge. There's a lot of holding a wad of fabric in my lap while doing my "business" & being very careful of getting to that point. I usually only wear them if I'm going where I KNOW the bathroom is clean...

I was just a bit puzzled by the further measurement down from the 70cm mark for the leg length. You didn't mention what length to take there, but I suppose one mus add in one's own length for that.😊💕
Trouble is you spoon feed us so well with your patterns that our minds turn off a bit.

I would recommend measuring the lenght of your legs. For me, 70cm isn't enough. I would increased the width proportional, that the look is the same. I'll tell you how it turned out.
