Actually considering this for either a Perkins or dt360 swap in my highboy. Found a 3053 it's attached to the multifuel engine still but don't know if it overdrive
if 5th gear is towards the rear, its overdrive, if 5th gear is towards the front its non overdrive (talking about shift pattern). Also, once the transmission is removed from the truck and engine, you can turn the input shaft by had with it in 4th. If the input and output shafts move at the same speed, its an over drive. Put it in 5th it will turn the output shaft faster than the input shaft. Those are the sure fire ways to know. That being said, if there is a letter A after the 3053 on the data plate, it is an overdrive unit.

@@nathan00campbell numbers are worn off shift knob. It's a huge transmission was seeing it there was a way to know before removing that huge beast lol
