There is a RUclips channel (Tanner Leatherstein) where the guy takes apart Designer bags and it's horrible how cheap they are. Take the same money and go to a craftsman who will make you something "special" and individual for you with 10 times more quality. And you will give to small businesses - not a mega conglomerate. Love your videos.
His channel is amazing ❤ 99% of high end designer bags the materials & craftsmanship are less than 10% of the value. Other brands like Coach have a similar level of craftsmanship for so much cheaper. Tanner’s company make bags and he even has some made from Togo leather which is what Hermes’ use.
My thoughts but apply this to literally any mass produced item from plates to shoes to clothing 😄
Justin Leconté, a young designer, recently did a nice series of leatherbags in different colours. Might be my next one.

It's so nice to hear other people mention your favourite creators! I love Justine's work, I had a T-shirt from her a couple of years ago and it was so well designed and made from great materials. I almost regret not needing a new handbag, because I would definitely get one from her :D

Good for you for fast-tracking the outfit experimentation and contemplation so you could send it back straight away. When you know, you know - it just wasn't right for you. Too often I keep things thinking I'll find a satisfactory way to wear them and I don't, and then I've passed the return window. 🙄

I bought my Burberry dream bag more than 16 years ago after years of dreaming...ended up with a flaw in the coated canvas that the entire style line had, returned it for another style ....not my dream, but a beauty....I still have it. But I wasn't impressed with their customer service, had to fight to get that flawed bag returned at near full price. It was a huge lesson in how designer goods are perceived as perfection when they often aren't. I wasn't impressed with the Burberry experience but I will still buy select pieces if they reflect the quality they boast of ♥️ good for you for not settling for the reality vs the dream!

@patriciamycyk I feel the same about this style of bag for myself. It is a beautiful bag, and I love (and always wear) a cross body option, however I've found the top handle options a no for me personally. They feel too high overall on my small frame and make me feel like I'm pretending to be lady-like with the handles. I was thankful I'd purchased a second-hand (non-Saint Laurent, it was a black leather Coach) version first to try out. There are a couple of YSL bags I lust after, but none have a top handle. (There is a bit of serious lust for a particular LV bag with a bit of a top handle (Capucines), but I've avoided buying that too 😅).
Its a lovely bag but for that price you need something you love straight away xoxo

I think i'd also rather this leather over the current version even with the gold bits on front. They add a bit of interest and extra texture plus they work with the gold detailing on your boots and the gold jewelry you usually wear. I'd probably try to find a retailer for the current version to do a textural comparison of the leathers, pictures are nice but they don't tell the whole story. Especially if the gold bits are the biggest issue.

If you love your new handbag, thats all that counts. For me, I am fairly minimal and a budget shopper. I don't need really expensive items to feel well dressed. I agree with one of the other comments; I loved your blundstone era, and the style of clothing that went with it.
For that price range, if it's not 100% love, then good riddance.

I thought it looked a little on the small side for a ‘day bag’. Rigid smallish bags can be difficult in practice, when you’re reaching in for things. Especially when you only have one hand free, as the cross body option doesn’t work when the strap is too long (I’m petite too).
First world problems, I know, but it’s important when you’re investing a lot of money. It needs to be perfect. You made the right decision xx

Does the coat leave lint on the black outfit? I found I have to make sure when shopping for layers, that if it's light colored, it doesn't shed on my mostly black tops.
