Kudos to Spesh K; Dicord users Brenin, Erin and J-Bru; and RUclipsr COBYSUCKS for solving the case of one of the longest mysterious song searches!
I don’t know why, but. Lostwave is oddly very unnerving to me. Whenever I hear a lostwave song, I always picture that the song originated from an alternate universe and somehow mysteriously slipped into this one.
Thanks for the comment, Anon. The reason "Stay By My Side" didn't make the video is because, while it was recorded sometime before 2004, my records indicate that the search didn't start until 2008, which was after "Like the Wind"'s search began in 2007. Do you have any additional details about "Jewels"? I have no information about that one and would love to look into it more. Much appreciated.
@@CWSchultz The origin of this song has surpised us all...Well, the song itself has been put into WatZatSong by user abder45 (wzs-id:174) Must be one of the oldest posts from the website. I got interest in this song when JayKay uploaded it before his channel went down. We had no information, until in 2023 user Kurty found out that another user from a bodybuilders blog also searched for this song and there was a comment about it origin: A p#-movie named "Le mie prigioni" from 2001. Since then, we also got the longer version of the song, which i uploaded on my channel. To be honest, my thoughts were about Joe Cocker. But, it's seems just to be a partially voice similarity between him and the unknown singer. Ironically someone even proposed "Joe Cocker - Truth" on WZS. If I got your attention in this - Check out this song on my channel :) Appreciate your work!
@@seturan-z The research I've done indicates it came from Napster. Who and when was it discovered that "Tell Me When You're Gonna Leave" was taken from an adult film? Was it on Discord or Reddit, or somewhere else?
I can get why these three didn't break out like TMMSOTI. Two are from sources that no one really thinks about where it's from - internet memes, and mall ambiance music - while the third one was a little too generic that it didn't rile any intrigue. All three aren't nearly as fascinating as what we know of TMMSOTI
Also the fact that TMS is a full song. Everyone Knows That is another one of those short clips that I hope will be identified one day, but that's just it, we don't have enough to go on. If we had the full "tension rising" song we'd probably be able to identify it.
Tension Rising is a fucking BOP and I am SO eager to see it found ESPECIALLY if there's a full version....! It just screams toy commercial or cartoon opening as someone who is an animator and 80s toy collector and thus has watched more commercials from that era than I can count lol
I think that's just nostalgia and bias. Most of the other songs were just tracks by lesser-known artists. Tension Rising sounds exactly like any other high-energy song of the era in that genre.
I know this one is no longer lostwave, but I would like to mention "Union" by Starscreamer, a song whose first mention was on July 25, 1999 in google groups, and which was identified on July 20, 2023 by a discord user named simius. A song that is not currently identified is "Tell Me When You're Gonna Leave", posted in a forum on July 24th, 2005.
So glad "Union" was identified. Also, thanks for letting me know that "Tell Me When You're Gonna Leave" was posted as early as 2005; the source I was looking at only went back to 2021. Your help is always greatly appreciated, Sam.
"The Beer Song" also counts, that song has traces on internet since 2000 and nobody knows the artist (pretty strange considering that song is even more popular than "Like The Wind").
At that time, the Internet was much more chaotic with online music or rather, there was confusion, theft of music from various authors, music or songs with wrong or incomplete names, confusing and unreliable, verifiable, safe and orderly sources... So it's easy for everything to be like that and The Beer Song is no exception. By the way, 2 of the 3 songs in this particular video were identified and found in HQ or at least Osama Bin Laden's, the other, Tension In The Air, I want it in HQ but it is not on RUclips yet. :(
Sounds like Ruka Ruka Ali, he makes parodies of songs that are highly controversial and offensive to a lot of people so this subject matter is right up his ally + the voice sounds like his too
This was the wild west of file sharing, people would just tag things as any major artist they could to get exposure. The truth is it's probably just some kid in his mom's basement who thought it was funny to make a Bin Laden song to be edgy at a time when we all hated the man.
Yes! This is awesome. After reading your comment, I just listened to the full version for the first time out of the countless times I'm going to loop it. lol. The video's pinned comment has been updated with this discovery. Thank you for reporting the good news!
Now that I realize it, "Your Eyes" would also count because the first trace of that song on Internet was on a chinese compilation of 2003. "Eastern Wind" could also count considering the first first mention of that cover was on 2004. And the last one would be "My Epic Ascension", which is the oldest unsolved wzs sample (posted on October 15th, 2006 by oliver7).
Interesting! Thank you for sharing. This particular video focused more on the date of the oldest searches, opposed to the date of the oldest recordings. So, even though "Your Eyes" appeared on a Chinese compilation in 2003, sources trace the start of an actual search to be December 22, 2009. Regardless, that's still great insight, and might inspire me to make follow-up videos on these older recordings and searches! Much appreciated.
