I just wrapped my Yardistry greenhouse this afternoon. I found the instructions were great. Couple of warped pieces o needed to manage through but no issues. I’d suggest building all four walls in the garage if you can. So much easier, nice and flat. Keep an eye on the yellow vs black pan screws. Otherwise a simple build.

I agree with you on building in the garage!! We have been using it all season. It leaks but I love it!! Please check out more videos full of seedlings!!! Thanks for watching and good luck with yours, I hope you love it!

A TIP FOR UNPACKING THE PARTS!!! As step one it says check off the parts are you are unpacking them - but they are listed in random order. So half your time building this thing will be spent looking for your next part! I created a spreadsheet and sorted them into numerical order along with what step they go with. Make yourself 24 cards to number them for the steps in the process. As you check off the parts, sort them into piles according to what step they go with. It will save you TONS of time later!!!

I put it together on a flat concrete pad, think it's easier than staging above ground. The fit is no worse than a Tesla, go easy with a hammer or millet to force a fit, the wood is soft you might dent it.

and thanks for the really helpful videos!

You're very welcome. We used the extra long decking screws into the greenhouse base, down into pressure treated once we had it level and square on the pressure treated. We later added hurricane ties. I thought we covered that in one of the videos can't remember which one, but it's somewhere in that Playlist maybe in, installing the floor, or adding shelves videos.

Hi Arlene!! Thanks so much for the request! We definitely plan to. We are having some issues with a warped door so I haven't planted anything yet. But things are about to get interesting! We have done several videos of progress as we work so please view our library and also enjoy our beautiful sky along the way!!

Question, how would you rate it as far as wind resistance? I live in a windy area and I'm curious if it would hold up

    • @ourbackyardgarden

Thanks for watching and commenting! Actually it seems very stable. We did screw it in to the base with very long screws. And that bottom base we built is secured to the ground with rebar driven in, in opposing directions. There are several videos on this we did. Also we added hurricane straps. We just had a big wind storm winds up to 50 miles per hour and it was just fine! We do have another video where we show the connection points here if you would like to watch.

In this video we use hurricane straps and 10" Timberlok screws for securing our greenhouse.

I just bought this and bought the 4 x 4's to attach greenhouse too... but I noticed there are no instructions or details on the exact dimensions that these should be assembled. How did you figure this out? Being they only have dimensions for the concrete pad if your were to use one. I don't want to be hanging over either side and find that they have been put together slightly off. Thanks

Thank you for watching. We did a dry set up and took the units base pieces out. We did 4x4 for front and back and 4x6 on the sides for wiggle room. But what we cam to realize was the rendering that shows inside the basecand outside of the dimensions is accurate. We did not cut the side 4x6x8 pieces I left them long. We cut the front and back to fit inside them. When you pull out the base pieces you will see the fit. We talk about it in the install videos in the Playlist. I hope tha helps its hard to explain but we were perplexed initially then realized it was easy.

Thank you for watching! With ideal conditions I'd plan for 2 to 4 days of work. I wouldn't even begin to know what it would cost for hired labor especially a skilled carpenter or framer.

    • @ourbackyardgarden

Hi, congrats!!! We had to order replacement parts that caused several delays. We feel that with a completed parts list an experienced person can knock it out in 2 days with a helper. Inexperienced could take more. A helper makes it all go quicker as well as working on a level space. Plan 4 days. Good luck, please tell us how it goes!!

Thank you for watching. We have a greenhouse Playlist with all of the stages. It's pressure treated timbers 4x4 for the front and back and 4x6 on the sides. We anchored them in to a level foundation by striking them through in opposing directions. It's critical to properly mount and anchor this structure!! Please see our Playlist lots of info!!

I've been wondering how long one of these will last before wood starts to rot. That is my only hesitation from buying one.

    • @ourbackyardgarden
      @ourbackyardgarden  Год назад +1

Hi Eric thanks for watching. We wonder the same. I think the key is not building it in a low spot and having a good drainage foundation for the base. No floor just gravel and or pavers. I'll be happy if I get 10 years with annual sealing maintenance.
