About Itzy, I personally think about their lost members I think about girls who were with them during JYP Trainee Showcase 2017 (the one in the first EP of the Stray Kids survival show). It's Mashiro (ex-Kep1er, Maiden), Park Yejin (she's a stress now), and Park Sunmin (she left JYP in 2018, and nothing is known about her now so she probably has a normal, nonon-idol life). In my opinion, they couldn't lose Somi because she debuted even before them - in 2016 in I.O.I and after the group disbanded she left JYP Ent. In 2018 so before Itzy was announced. Even before leaving the agency, she had a solo contract under the agency so I doubt she would be in the group. Sieun was a child actor under JYP and a trainee at the same time. She left when all the actors were defunct. It was in July 2019 sfter Itzy's debut announcement, so she wasn't supposed to in this group. Chaeyeon (Chaeryeong's older sister) left JYP in 2016 after she didn't pass to the final Twice lineup (Survival Show Sixteen) and after she and Chaeryeong were told by JYP that he won't debut siblings because he didn't want them to be compared to each other who is better. It was her decision to leave so her sister could stay. Finally Lily, company was thinking of including her in a team but was left behind cuz they thought they needed someone with long training period in laters group (something similar to bang chan when he was supposed to debut with GOT7 but was left behind with BamBam to debut later - BamBam, debuted cuz he impressed JYP with his skills)
actually, for the blackpink and itzy one, it wasnt the previous lineup they were all just being trained to be in a group but no one knew who would be in that group and who wouldnt, but for itzy, somi was confirmed to debut but left because jyp was taking too long and was replaced with yuna, the original line up for these groups were always 4/5 members, but believe it or not alot of trainees get trained and are promised to debut in a group but only a few of them make it and the rest get discarded or put in other line ups
In regards to BLACKPINK, I remember seeing this somewhere so don’t quote me on this but one of YG’s original ideas for a new girl group was heavily inspired by Girls’ Generation which is why the earliest lineup of this gg consisted of 9 members, most likely including the 5 girls listed in the video along with the current 4 members of BP.
