It is not news that Sigma has made great lenses for many years! It is nice to see a company focusing on the fundamentals. Focus on great products, great company to work for with long term vision. I can’t imagine that will not result in a profitable company. Too bad Sony won’t allow. Teleconverter for Sigma’s telephoto products. Wait! Wonder if that is true for a built-in teleconverter.
But it wasn't $9500 either. It's offering focal lengths we need, but deliver great results at an affordable price. A wow lens can't deliver mediocre results. Canon delivers the best of the best which has a market, but the larger market is under $2000
back when I was on canon I used that lens a bit and what a lovely focal length it was, if sigma updated that old 120-300 f/2.8 I would pay any amount for it lmao
The sad part is whatever telephoto lens they come up with will only be available for E-Mount and L-Mount. I guess RF is going to have to wait for a 3x the price L Lens :(
@@OrdinaryFilmmaker I hope they eventually open it. More competition means better value for the consumer. At the same time I get why they don’t, but it just sucks for everyone else
Didn't hear any hints about RF full-frame lenses, but I'm still holding out hope. Off topic, I thought this channel was going to have a drawing to win an R5. What ever happened with that? I'm not getting another RF lens from Canon going forward. I already have what I want from them as far as what I can afford goes. I may sell one of my bodies, and maybe even a few lenses that don't get much use, but I won't be buying from Canon as far as lenses. Should Sigma start making full-frame lenses, I may take a look. It sounds like a very reputable and respectable company, and I've owned their lenses before. I think the quality is outstanding for the price!
Why doesn’t Sigma make their newly designed RF lenses in an EF mount that can be used with an RF adapter until Canon actually allows them to make it in an RF mount? Canon did this with their own 400mm f2.8 and 600mm f4 L lenses and just switched the mount latter on. This would give us the Lenses from Sigma we are desiring now and being able to enjoy them now instead of 5-10 years from now when I may no longer be around! Time is precious… 🙏
Ive got my Rf100-500 so I would like a 300 - 800 or bigger F5.6 would be good enough to keep the price down. LOL when you cue Ryan Up you should have yourself with a hat on LOL

That’s a real CEO
135-300mm f/1.8 is my guess, at 8500€ MSRP...
Have decided to have a more hands on approach, we shoot digital and film. Framing, matting, and presentation.

I want to see a 1000mm f5.6 lens.
sigma had 120-300 f2.8 sport that was as good opticaly as rf 100-300 f2.8 but it was not the best seller

Hi I own the 105mm f1.4 and the20 mm f1.4 Art series for F mount still waiting they the get permision for FF Z mount
Oh and I had for ten years the 120-300mm f2.8 OS F mount traded that one in for the 105mmf1.4 Bokehmaster
Most likely it will be a 120-300mm f2.8 or 500mm F4 (unlikely because of 500mm f5.6) .Since they already had these for the DSLR range.
Modern version of 200-500 f2.8.
Or just 100-400 f4
24-135 F2

How do you know that Debbie Downer? ;)
That's why people are leaving Canon. You can get better for much less money.

Why not for Nikon?
Not much point producing a telephoto E mount lens when limited to 15fps. I have an A9 iii and wouldn’t buy it unfortunately…
