FORCING My Boyfriend To Run His First Ever Parkrun In Embarrassing Halloween Costumes!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 30 окт 2022
- It's Halloween weekend.. so running the local parkrun dressed as an inflatable pumpkin and forcing my boyfriend to come with me seemed the obvious thing to do. Daniel is not a runner, so forcing this non-runner into his first ever parkrun was kind of a big deal.. aside from the fact I also surprised him with his very own embarrassing Halloween costume so we both looked ridiculous. Ever thought about running a parkrun or race in fancy dress? Find out how much it slowed us down... and whether Daniel and I would still be together by the end of it!

"You don't need to breathe really, just imagine that you're breathing. It's all about mindset." 😂🤣
It’s true! Ask Wim Hoff 😉
😂
Daniel was able to hide his embarrassment of accompanying a pumpkin quite effectively😀
It's quite easy to hide it when you are under a bed sheet 😉
@@themiddlebro111 but I can hardly believe you could run with your mouth effectively covered! That must have cost you quite some effort. Well done.
@@CNCTurboStep I surprised myself! Well keep your eyes peeled for my second park run attempt hopefully without a covered mouth 😂
@@themiddlebro111 That was a real crucible! They can literally only get easier, assuming you're not asphyxiating yourself in future runs!
Huge well done to Daniel!! Sub 30 for your first 5k is epic! Pumpkin outfit was pretty special - who knew my legs were bigger than a 5 year old’s!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Late to the party here, but been consuming all of your content as I JUST started training to run a 5k/10k/half and eventually a full next year. Just wanted to say that your positivity, love for running, and outright inspiring way of taking on challenges is helping me a lot. I'm so glad the algorithm landed me on your videos!
Daniel being a) willing and b) able to run his first parkrun as a ghost accompanying a balloon-pumpkin scores him major points in my book! Laughed at that woman who said "I heard you!" as you passed by - that costume was NOT designed for sneaking around in, clearly 😂Daniel must have enjoyed editing this video at least - the revelation that you were legitimately being slapped in the mouth the entire time by your costume must have made his suffering a little more bearable 😁
Sub-30 for your first ever parkrun is mega though, Daniel, congratulations! And being effectively draped in a bedsheet the entire time, no less 🥰And that final training fartlek - it's easy to forget how quick Phily really is when she's unencumbered by a massive pumpkin costume. Great video, you two!
Haha I also laughed every time we watched that bit when editing 😂
Thanks for such a lovely comment 😊
Philly can run near twice as quick as the pace she did in the Parkrun... her 5k record is 15:44. It's rather insane.
Watch out Phily - first Daniel starts sharing the driving, now the running, you'll have to rename the channel soon 😉
In all seriousness, huge respect to Daniel for doing his first parkrun in fancy dress, without being prepared for it! That really is the parkrun spirit, and to get sub-30 (unofficially) as a first go would be amazing even without the sheet that looked like it was very hard to breathe through!
Don't worry I'm workshopping some new names as we speak 😉
Way to go Daniel! I started running 8 yrs ago and still chasing the sub 30 min 5k.
I was late to 2 starts because I couldn't get my laces tied correctly. 😂
Literally could not stop smiling and laughing the whole video! Your dynamic is amazing! And you guys carved out a good time for Daniel looking dead at the end lol
aha thank you, glad you enjoyed watching us idiots!
06:46 "...it's just a small detail, you don't need to breathe, really..." 😂
...poor laddie 😅
HAHA, Hilarious. I love the way your pumpkin leaves bounce up and down. Kudos to Daniel for playing along. The reason you didn't see any witches is they were all flying overhead on their broomsticks. 😂
I could do this every week it was honestly a blast 😂
Tremendous video Phily, "Age 5-11" had me howling. Hats off to Daniel, what a great sport, and a decent first entry - onwards and upwards. PS - the constant shoe re-tying, definitely a thing
Should make it easy to smash his PB first attempt right!
Brilliant Phily your facial expressions when Daniel saying he is only run/walkin at the moment 😂😂
"The time might not be accurate". That would be so important!
I’m catching up on all your old videos and loving them! Daniel is such a good sport haha
That laugh at 3:23 😂😂 Oh .. ! Poor Dan 😂 doesn't even know what's coming.....
Glad he had a good experience and to be honest I think your boyfriend really enjoyed it. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Well done to Daniel, poor guy, for being a good sport and doing the parkrun you forced on him.. plus for doing it dressed as a ghost. Pumpkin outfit looks brill
Yes, quite often tie and re-tie a few times to get the lace pressure correct, especially across top of foot. Well done on the Park runDaniel. Great to see, and looking forward to another one in some normal attire!
This is what I’m saying! Especially in flats or race shoes! Stay tuned for some more Daniel challenges 😉
This is no doubt the funniest youtube video i have seen in like ever! please make another one for halloween this year!!
Amazing!
I think we can safely say he DID love it!
Love the transition @4:27
What a great sport Daniel is. He’s definitely got a half in him.
Tying shoes more than once - myth!
I think he did too!
“Pumpkin coming through” 😂😂 so good. Bless Daniel, I would have left you there. Best video ever guys, hilarious. Next park run will feel so easy without a costume Daniel 🙌🏻
God I hope it does! The ability to breath properly will be nice 😂
In a word - brilliant. Love the 🎃👻 duo.
All in for the shenanigans and we all look forward to "Daniel running content" in due course. 🎉
Just got back from my run, psyched that I get to start my recovery with a new Phily video 🤩
Ah thank you, a special Halloween gift!
Love this ❤❤ penny drop moment "what are those doing here, why have you got my running shoes" 🤣🤣👌🏽👌🏽
Great dynamic duo! Kudos, Phily for getting him to do it and to Daniel, getting after it in good “spirits!” 🎃👻❤❤
Awesome video, the costumes were fantastic. Would love to see more running by Daniel, its great getting to see you both run.
Well done Daniel on your first parkrun, you guys looked fab, would love to see more parkrun videos, its just the perfect outlet for exercise that is all inclusive 🤩
Ha ha that was funny! Lovely to see Daniel do his first parkrun and well done Phily running as a pumpkin and still doing a session afterwards! 💪🙂
I tie my shoes once, then once I realize they are too tight, I have to retie them. Usually only twice. But they did come undone in a race once. So that sucked. Big props to Daniel for being a great sport about his first parkrun!
Omg absolutely loved watching this video. Didn't stop laughing from start to finish. Keep up the great content always love watching your videos. 👏👏
Imagine being involved in a sprint finish against someone dressed as a spooky ghost! Thays genuinely one of the funniest things I've seen recently
It was quite the spectacle 😆
Epic! Both for the costumes and for the effort Daniel put into this. What a great sport he is! 👏👏👏👻
Love it, credit to Daniel for being such a good sport!!
WooHOOoo Daniel!!! Awesome work!!!
That evil laugh tho Philly!!🤣
Yup, I’m always adjusting & readjusting laces!!
i don't think i laughed so much in my life. this is soooo funny. you don't need to breath it's just a mindset. 😂. do you still love me.....yeah i guess. i just can't cope.
Glad we could provide some entertainment!!
LOL - I like that he's willing to do it, even though he really doesn't want to. Daniel is a keeper. He's a really nice guy. Go Daniel!
He loved it really 😉
Great to see @Phily Bowden embracing the trick part of Halloween!!! And congrats to Daniel for his first parkrun.
Haha tricks always get less coverage for the treats these days!
Dude, you need those shoe laces with the toggle thing, they're the best. No more tying.
Thanks for the laughs, you guys are fun 😊
I love how happy Philly was planning and springing her scheme. Daniel, Get yourself a girl like that!
Well done Daniel, you both looked good. I do have to retie my lases before a run.
Thank you!!
Imagine getting passed by a running pumpkin! I think I would give up and retire
Great video, I love parkruns as great for all abilities. Am on nearly 300 parkruns but would never get near your 5K times. Well done to Daniel on his first parkrun of many more to come. Running as pumpkins needs to become an Olympic 5K event.
Yes, I have to retie my shoes multiple times, but it's getting better -- I no longer worry about them being too tight because they loosen up pretty quick once I start running. But too loose is annoying. Thanks, great parkrun...
You owned that pumpkin costume. Great video, thanks for uploading ❤
100% true, definitely need to tie your laces once just as a single knot and then after walking round the house before leaving tighten them more once your feet have settled into them properly and do a double knot! 👌
Thank you youtube algorithm- just found your channel. 3rd video I've watched now and love your attitude to everything and this is hilarious. I love how you turn up late, my daughter and I have a stampede of park runners running at us each time as were late and trying to get to the start line when it's already started 😂🙂🏃♂️🏃♀️
This was brilliant! Well done Daniel - Harry would be proud. PS Phily looks fit even as a pumpkin.
Daniel! Daniel! Hoorah! An inspiration to ghosts everywhere. Don't let being a dead person stop you from achieving your dreams
😂 he’s living inside
Holy shit you guys.... this is amazing! Daniel using the eyehole to gasp for air had me actually laughing out loud 😅 Daniel super mad props to you not only for doing this as your first park run, but for not backing out! Next year you guys should do something like Batman and Robin costumes, because at least you can get running shirts with those printed on them, then the only hassle is the cape :)
He smashed it! I like the Batman and robin idea… but I’ve got to say the bigger the costume the better, I can’t do small measures 😂
@@PhilyBowden I can respect that
The man, the myth the legend! Way to go Daniel.
Also - I loved "13 miles? Is that it...I've got 15 miles tomorrow." If that's not loving the grind, I don't know what is!
Haha thanks Stephen, knew I could convince him when it came down to it 😉
this video literally made my day🤣 absolutely hilarious 😂
I tie my shoe when I leave my room, then it inevitably feels weird, retie after/ during streching. Then One final retie post warmup, usually that one sticks for the rest of the workout but sometimes there is a fourth retie.
Double knots get it done. Enjoyed the video 😂
OMG ☠️🤣🙌 This is the perfect literal depiction of the struggle that is dating a runner.
Yes - I've have sometimes tied my shoes and then they are too tight, so I re-tie them then they are too loose and I'd have to re-tie them again. Also have to remember to double knot when running, because it is highly annoying when you have to stop, mid run to re-tie your shoe.
This is me a lot of the time!
Haha! One of your best videos yet. Loved the shot of the park run starting before you made it. Great effort from Daniel.
That was the lowlight… but it was a good way to make sure we didn’t start too fast I think!!
This must be worthy of a parkrun volunteer credit, as a run report!
Great video!!! Laughed the whole time. I started using a double knot in the 70's, haven't had to retie them since. 🎃👟
😂😂😂😂 I thought you were mean with Daniel with a costume that doesn't allows him to breathe, but after I saw a full shot of you running with this pumpkin hahahahahahah respect, lovely couple
Yes on tying and re-tying shoes.
WTG Daniel! Racing is addictive. Glad to see you catching the bug. xD
Has to be done
I give your bf credit that was impressive and props for actually running it
Hi Phily, not often I laugh out loud but this was hilarious - you're an inspiration too, even to runners like myself who are over 50. All the best to you at NB and welcome to the North (and btw the weather is nowhere near as bad as people say :) My next competitive event is the Geneva 10K and really working hard to put in a new PB at that event:)
That was the funniest parkrun I've seen! 😂😂👍🏻🏃♂️
Aha thanks Mark! Hopefully it brightens a few people’s day!
Philly the great pumpkin and Daniel the friendly ghost! Awesome, happy Halloween all!
Well done Daniel total respect young man ! I'm with Daniel never need to retie ! Loved the video what running is all about having fun !😂😂😂
The re-tying issue is dividing these comments! 😂
Oh Philly 🤦♀️ 😂😂 ur hysterical …… well done Daniel 👻 ur a good sport …… Philly ur pumpkin helmet 😂😂 Omg too funny ❤
I've been binging all your videos recently, but this is my favourite. Keep the Dan content coming!
(And if he doesn't know about it in advance again, even better)
I feel I have permission to do these stunts more often now!
Thanks Phily. Ran my sub 90min HM PB thinking "Love the grind". Got myself a 1st place age group.
Ay that’s awesome!
16:30 ...yup Philly, consider yourself corrected 🤣
Brilliant video, so funny, great to see an elite athlete keep so much fun in running
Best moment was Daniel casually stating "we forgot the mouth hole, I'm kinda struggling to breathe..."
Minor details! 😂
Love you guy’s loads. Absolutely awesome laughed so much it made my day. 💙
🎃 👻 👟 Nice job Daniel! I am impressed with your time. My first parkrun is in a week in Portland, Oregon.🎉. I would be so impressed if I could come in below 30 min -nice job again!!🎃
Well done Daniel on your first park run, and for being such a good sport!
🫡
Haha I know I’m late but it’s takes me about twice to get my laces right😂
I'm impressed with that. I reckon Daniel is a natural runner, just needs some training, but I reckon he has the natural talent!
I liked the video before I started watching. I knew I would love it, but it was even better thanI thought. Well done Daniel 👏👏👏
Aw thank you! 😆
Well done Daniel! What a sport :)
Well done Daniel! Great effort sir! As always very enjoyable content 👍
This is great! My family started a tradition a few years ago where one person gets to pick a theme for everyone’s costume and surprises them on the day. It’s definitely interesting to see what everyone comes up with. Also, “aged 5-11”!!??? 😂 Just need Daniel to exchange his Texas hat for a Baylor one! 🐻 and yes, shoe laces are never right. It’s an impossible task.
Aha love this idea, might have to try this!!
Omg this is soooooo funny. Really made me laugh. Well done Daniel your a star 😁
Thats the Spirit Daniel !!
Dam it, I was at that TVP Parkrun! Wish I had stayed at the end 😅
Ah you should have!
I too tie and re-tie my sneakers before a run. Always do it too tight at first.
I liked when the curl of hair appeared through the eyehole and it made you look like you had a super villains dastardly monocle. 😂
haha. I couldn't stop laughing during the park run. you guys were great. tell Daniel that running only gets easier. its the very beginning of starting to run that is the hardest
He’s getting close to the part when some runs feel easy now!
Daniel! What a good sport. Also yes to retying shoes multiple times.
That was awesome, from both of you! Sub30 for your first 5k is a great time! Also the bit about tying your shoes multiple times is so true for me 🤣 I always feel like one shoe is slightly tighter than the other, so I have to retie one of them (usually the one that's too loose), but then that one feels tighter than the other one, so I retie the other one. I do that one or two times until I feel like they're even and still comfortable, or they're both so tight that I have to retie them both (am embarrassed to admit sometimes there's a third retying until the circle stops :D)
Great video Philly (Daniel), looked like lots of fun. I tie and re-tie at least twice, but more like 50 times before a run ! 😀
See I knew it was a thing!!
I tie my shoes and then usually re-tie them just before the race or first step of my run.
LOL. I need to send that boy a Bama hat. Roll Tide!!!
He's punching harder than Tyson Fury!
Great run Daniel, really enjoyed the video Phily 😀👏
I'm thinking about doing some park runs as I've just signed up for a 12k in September - can currently run 3k verrrrrrrry slowly on a treadmill relatively late at night in the gym. I don't look like a runner, and am definitely slower than actual runners, so I'm worried about people laughing at me. This has got me genuinely contemplating doing a park run in a silly outfit to help me conquer my fear...
Great seeing you both within the content, well done Daniel. I only did my first Parkrun about 3 months back and I'm well and truly hooked on the runs at the moment, training most days. As you are new to running watch those PB's drop quickly to a point. Look forward to seeing you on the channel more. p.s that Dog was definitely giving you guys evils, pause at 6:17! damn Halloween Hound! By the way, do you or Phily know, are there Cross Country races or meets for non-elite/club runners, I like the look of those.
I was worried the dog may have tried to attack the pumpkin suit! Absolutely there’s loads of cross country you can run as a non-elite! Assuming you’re in the UK - best bet is to contact your local athletics club and try out the league races they do- some offer you the opportunity to run as a guest (for a small fee) without having to join officially as well
@@PhilyBowden ah yes, true, a human sized squeaky dog toy… Brilliant thanks, yup I’m Derbyshire based so will take a look at athletic clubs in and around the area.
yes to re-tying your shoes multiple times before starting a session ;)
This is brilliant, love it!
So funny 😂
Well done Daniel Looks like Philly has a challenge coming her way
Maybe 1/2 Marathon pumpkin challenge? 🤔
I like your thinking 😎
Good job Daniel. This was funny and I sure enjoyed watching.
Face it Phily, pumpkins are not scary. Daniel, however, was genuinely terrifying, especially his breathing running towards the funnel. Hollywood calls?
Method acting at it's finest 😉
Congrats Daniel, great job!
Personally I leave my running shoes laced, so no I have to redo them only every few weeks =)
😱😱😱 doesn’t that ruin your shoes?!
