First time of hearing this song its haunting and is influenced by Marc's sound and it is brilliant just wish you could make out what he is saying rest in peace Steve and Syd
There’s a professional recording of this song that’s more upbeat where you can make out Steve’s lyrics easier. The actual name of the song is “Beautiful Deceiver”. That’s what he’s singing in the chorus.

This is pretty good. It's a shame that Steve couldn't handle drugs, never got over the hippy thing and didn't take music as seriously as Marc Bolan and June Ellen. They could've made some really epic music together.
I'm curious about the crashing sound just beyond the 2:50 mark. It sounds like maybe a mic stand was knocked over or Syd fell off his chair. Oh to be a fly on the wall.
@@marcstevens8576 How do you know this? Is it a personal account of a witness? I've read a ton about Syd over the years yet I honestly only know the basics about Took.
@@cdkilo77 It was written about in the inlay story in the CD. Also from Steve's Appreciation Club. He is worth looking up. Also look up Shagrat & Steve Took's Horns for more of better quality solo recordings. No, I never met Him.
@DavePocklington The title alone sold more copies than if it was just a Took track. Always be wary of marketing. No one can disprove that Syd played on the track because you can't disprove a negative. An age old question: if a Syd falls in the forest and no one can hear it, does it make a sound? If you can't hear Syd on a recording did he actually play on it. A cute way to say be skeptical. Still, definitely include it in your Syd playlists tho, coz Shagrat doesn't get near enough love these days.
Steve Peregrin Took was a total genius & this incredible song & his untimely end make me dream of what could have been.
👍
I also enjoy Steve’s music. But he wasn’t a genius. Very few people are.
The chord progressions of his songs are always striking.
love it...true Tyrannosaurus Rex magic
RIP Steve, and RIP Syd whether on it or not.
God I love this song so much
Genius.
Que coisa linda! é quase um tranquilizante
Mia Paboplanes Eu diria que é melhor! Esse som é muito da hora!
07.07.20. Steve Peregrine Took 💪

So sad that Steve was haunted by his addiction to hard drugs.

It's Steve Took falling off his stool
@@mlucifersam I'm sure they were both hopped up on mandys.
The crashing sound was Steve falling off his chair.

This is some drugged out shit! I dig it.
Is there a.chance Syd is on this ?
I don't hear it, but he could have been in the room. Seriously. The song was released on the Shagrat comp, but no Syd there I'm afraid.
@@jordil6152 Syd was there but no one can remember what he played on. The title alone leads credence to this.
