In today’s world of cookie cutter cars, engines and tires, the horse is still the most important part of the team. In my opinion, the trainer is second and the jockey is third. If you need proof, then you need only to review the records of Karl Kinser and Davey Brown. Karl was at the top of his game with three different drivers: Gaines, S Kinser and M Kinser. Davey Brown has won at least one race, every year, since 1954! His roster of drivers is legendary: Mackison, Gearhart, Tobias, Williamson, Paxton, Wolfgang, Jacobs, Eash, Kreitz, Dewease, Pittman and Wagner. My point is that although all of these drivers were very good, there are only a handful of crew chiefs or mechanics who can consistently put their drivers in a position to win many races and championships over the long haul.
I like to see the A- main’s be a longer race so the entire field would have at least a chance to finish inside the top five. It seems to me the most important thing for the Drivers is to qualify well . The heat races and the dash are pretty much just a warm-up session for anyone from the second row on back, The front row wins 95% of those races. They need to extend the amount of laps for these races or come up with some kind of remedy for this very predictable situation. If you don’t qualify well, You’re night is most likely doomed.
Been wondering what if… They back up the driver sign in deadline by 15 minutes and use that time to arrange qualifying by points, highest in series points goes last ?
@@kevineakman8586 It’s definitely a complex situation, Im just getting tired of watching the heat races and the dash play out with the same outcome night after night. It seems like if you cure one problem you create another. I like your idea, But what if you go to a track where it slows down considerably toward the last part of qualifying, Or it does the opposite, It gets faster. I’d like to see Qualifying on a rotation basis, Every race you rotate your position, So that every driver runs in every position throughout the year.
I totally agree, no simple or perfect solutions. The majority of tracks do slow down as qualifying progresses so by making the faster cars qualify last it would make it easier for the smaller teams to qualify well thus at least starting up front in their heat. On occasion a track will get faster during qualifying but not very often.
Im not sure making the race longer is the answer either because The front starting cars still get a advantage of clear track at the first part of the race. A longer race just adds to more laps of everyone being in traffic, not neccasarily giving guys a chance to easily move forward.
All good points. It's no different than employees at any company.....in any profession. Sometimes you click and excel, something you don't. Common sense.
Prime example, Big Game Motorsports. This is supposed to be the year that they with David Gravel win the Outlaws championship. They have the money, crew that works well together, and a topnotch driver, but may lose the championship because of bad performances late in the season. I hope they get back on track, but you never know in racing. Unfortunately, with the huge amount of money spent in fielding a team, sponsors and car owners expect results and are sometimes impatient.
Most of the ex Allstars are not having great season. If Cory had a good car under his butt,he would be one of the top drivers. Example,Wise replaced him and if it wasn't for Sunshine's injury he might of not won the Allstar championship. He is not doing well at all this year. Definitely going to see a possible shake up in both series. Money and sponsorship are getting thin. Good luck to all the teams and drivers for 2025
Zeb Wise is a little different situation, was real fast using Chevy motors but then they switch to ford and there performance has not been that good every since the change now could it be the ford motor or is it the guys working on the car and motor ? I’ve Hurd it’s the same deal Donny Schatz has been using and my opinion Donny hasn’t been the same since the switch , yea heys fast on the bigger tracks but seem to struggle on the smaller tracks
They can’t run longer races cause of the fuel situation, methanol burns much faster than gasoline and you would half to go to a 40 or even 50 gallon fuel cell and that’s very dangerous plus a lot of extra weight and that kills speed !
Well said Jeremy! It always bothers me when I read comments about drivers that are based on opinion but make it sound like a fact.
Great point. It was the same for the 39m team losing there driver going to the 71 car. Keep up the good work🏁💪

I had the right horse. I just needed a different jockey .

@@bruinsfan9645 That is an interesting concept. One thing High Limit does do is equal out their flights so one isn't loaded compared to the other.

Who was a 15th place team that switched drivers and became a winning team ?

I wonder if TSR will switch now that SHR is history .
@@albondigas9549 I doubt it as Tony seems to be a ford man
Thanks
