IKR, I remember trying all kinds of tricks to get past the intro screen, only to find out that the solution is this easy.
In window 8 serial key cannot be type in because there is no enough space to type in

Hey, there is no intro.slf in my directory. Not under data, not anywhere else in the whole JA2 folder. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks.
Where did you install it from, CD, GOG, ISO..?
CD. It is not the JA Gold CD, but JA2 + Wildfire. Your trick worked for Wildfire, but the game ran very slowly and unstable.
+chri2453 If it's a compilation, I'd suggest finding a vanilla version and getting it to run first, then add stuff to it separately
