I had two sets of great uncles and aunts who went to Boston (Somerville) and Great Uncle Jerry (an Irish tradition in Boston) became a cop. My Dad visited in around 1943 and there's a story of them talking in Irish with each other. This is something we never did here in Sasana and the story was the spur to learn a little about the language myself.
