Vincessant is a great peach player from Washington who last time we fought online mopped the floor with me. I knew I was in for a tough match.
This bout was much better than our last and I'm proud of how much I've been improving as of late.
Was a great set and I have nothing but respect for Vincessant as a player.

had to mute the video starting at 9:45 till the end cuz the commentators started going on some weirdo ass, unhinged they/them tangent about Link's sexuality and identity like wtf?
Aside from that tho, fire set homie. Your progress/innovation with Link is growing exponentially. You're literally the aMSa of Link mains

aMSa is an absolute legend and I always thought of myself capable of doing what he did with yoshi but with link.
These commentators need the mixes taken away, asap, and never given another seat at the commentator spots.

I love how item zoning like this in ult would be really obnoxious but in this game you REALLY gotta work to get your projectiles out. Good stuff, Redx.
I thank you for the praise. I'm trying more and more to turn Link into a zoner character rather than a projectile spammer cause I believe that's actually what he is.
It's been 23 1/2 goddamn years. If people haven't "solved" mid/low tier matchups now, I think it's pretty clear that it's not a matter of "solving" matchups, and instead a matter of playing them
That's my take to. Melee is blitz chess. Even if you know the answers you may not have the muscle memory or speed to deal with everyone's options. We aren't robots as much as some people seem to want to play like that. Melee has the human factor in it. It's so awesome.
I pray that all the perceived low and mid tiers rise up and even the playing field! I want to see much more char diversity in melee.

It definitely is. Peach gets rocked in the mid to long range game but link gets rocked in the close range so its heavy whiff / baiting out each others moves. Peach is too good up close and aggro. I enjoy it though cause it really pushes the footsies and how we each use our drift to its limit.
This set was sick! People really love to complain about commentators riffing at a local 😂 Is it all great? No but the bit about link being “c**ty” was hilarious. Your link sets will be worth watching regardless of comms, don’t sweat the comments.

It's pretty hard to be honest. Peach destroys link close range so most of it has to be fought mid to long range. Vincessant played it pretty well. Was a fun and challenging set!

@@RedXLinkif they just commentate what's goin on in the match bruh. Everything else they were saying was irrelevant. Their commentary was so left field that I'd rather listen to Bobby Scar talk about himself in another Top 8 to GF set all over again. It's nothing on you tho, you're doin great overall in terms of the gameplay and your channel
Some of it was cute and enjoyable, but it could have been more focused. Some really interesting stuff was happening while they were taking on the noble discussion of which link is cuntiest.
Okay, further in now and yeah, waayyyy too much time not talking about the match. Fun people, I'd hang with them, but this MU is kind of a treat and I think the critique stands.

Lotta moments I liked in this set.
The zair to snipe float is such a good idea, I feel it just needs the proper follow up edge guards to make it as threatening as it should be vs. peach.
And the part where you created a missive shark wall of return rang, up b and bomb on ps made me exited for the future even if it didn't get much.
There are just so many ways link can set up stuff and take advantage of it. Also liked the ideas of trading percent via purposeful bomb det interrupts to create safer offense. Though i will admit it's deff still in the early stages of usefulness but even if it is the fact all of this is showing promise already is a good sign.

if the commentary gets a bad response you could commentate your thoughts, interesting moments etc during the match. would love to hear you explain your decision making in these
@@memele4991 That is a good idea, but not quite the same as watching the match uninterrupted. He could do an analysis video for that because you'd probably have to pause a lot.

Yo red, ive got the up B bomb recovery on lock, which one should I learn next? That down throw fast fall one you did looks neat.
yo milpy thanks for the question! I would say the 3 key bomb recoveries to learn are
- The bomb jump ( which you said you got down. Great stuff! )
- The bear jump ( with bomb in hand, zdrop bomb, double jump, single bair to explode it )
- Courage drop ( zdrop while maintaining steady drift and try to detonate the bomb with the first hit of reverse aerial up B . The back swing of aerial up B )
The RPG Dive as it's called ( the bomb throw down dair tech that comes from Project Melee days ) does work but it's not as consistent as the big 3 I've told you about. Still working on that one and how it can be added into link's recovery kit

So you'll have to do comparisons, but I genuinely believe that bad commentary pulls ppl better than none at all

Commentary aside I'm glad you enjoyed the gameplay! I actually felt Vincessant played the matchup really well and it was a fun challenging set.
@@RedXLink for sure. And just to add something productive, in these situations where commentary has to be muted, I for one would enjoy your analysis. You could drop some Link knowledge bombs here and there, that’d be helpful for me personally since I’m learning Link and I bet some others who end up at your videos are in a similar situation.
