He is wrong in explaining active and passive system. If the speaker is separately powered by an amplifier we call it as a passive system. The speaker system which has an amplifier with it we say as active system example underseat subwoofers. The high and low frequencies are splitted using a network board which is also powered by an amplifier. Just with a single capacitor can split the high and low frequency.
