When he just looked at the camera and said, "I knew this would happen. You knew this would happen, didn't ya?" My heart ached and i felt a painful pit in my stomach
I finally got to see this movie after Lennon’s assassination. His last scene in this film has haunted me ever since. So unintentionally prophetic of what happened to him in 1980.
Y'all should watch the last two scenes with John in this movie. He stares right at the camera and you really can't stop looking at his brown eyes while he's talking. He's also super hot in those bits:3
On this day in 1967 {October 18th} the John Lennon movie "How I Won the War' had its world premier in London, England... Paul, George, and Ringo attended its London opening... Five days later on October 23rd it had its U.S.A. premier in New York City... R.I.P. John and George...
but not at all as father (for julian)..people tend to forget about this fact. how can so. declare himself as peace-sharing and not see his own child for years! all show biz bullshit..no real content.
süchtig nach Sprüngli Pâtisserie How can they forget when people like you keep bringing it up out of context ..... he himself grew up fatherless so we can't really expect him to be perfect
FreeBird0964 Yes I know that which is why I said it ..... like how people sitting behind their computer screen thinks that a celebrity has to be perfect and if he/she is not they think they're allowed to judge them
Thank you sooooo much for this montage! I remember seeing the movie YEARS ago just to see John but thought the rest was horrible. So to see it this way with only what I care about it perfect :) :) :)
OMG THAT's John Lennon! Almost forgot we was also a movie actor in addition to all his other talents. Got high for the first time and listening to 'Helter Skelter' - they seem to fit perfect together;)
Great to see these clips. I vaguely remember seeing this film on TV. It must have been either late 1980, or '81 when they were paying homage to John, after that bastard murdered him. I would have been 10, or 11. Thanks for posting this up.👍
Man I REALLY wanted to talk Shit about Johns acting but, I can't. I mean it's not great, but he's not bad either. WOW no wonder he is my FAVORITE BEATLE.........I LOVE YOU JOHN, R.I.P. 🎸💚❤💚
Kelli Gallagher That scene was right after they landed on the beach - not near the end. The Corporal ordered Musketeer Gripweed (John) not to let the officer (Micheal) catch him with his feet wet. John drove the truck shouting out "Sir! Me feets wet! Me feets wet Sir!" Seriously though. Trench-foot still plagues people whose feet spend too much time in water/mud. See here - www.foot-pain-explored.com/trench-foot.html
*John walking by a guy with milk* *John steals the milk* *John goes off and does his John thing :P) "HAHAHHAHHAHAHAHHAHHAHHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHA" *Yupp, John Lennon did his thing :)*
Does a guy almost get genuinely crushed at 3:02? that ain't cgi and his reaction to jump looks so real and its such a close call 😂 Oh my god I've just realised that's John Lennon jumping out the way
Sitting On A Froot Loop Ten years later and people are still watching!😉 I'm pleasantly surprised every time there's a new comment. And it's my only video so I guess I baby it a little!
LOL his laughter at 6:40, sounds like his voice from later Beatle albums (for example at the end of "Everybody´s got something to hide except me and my monkey") :-D
Watching this again makes me wonder if Alan Alda watched this movie and John's performance more when preparing to play Hawkeye in MASH on TV than Donald Sutherland's movie portrayal. It was a lot of slapstick in the early years of the TV series. Perhaps this even inspired the MASH movie as a whole?
I know this question is 3 years old, but no, this was not all of his scenes. I can't say for sure how much more he was in, but I specifically know my favorite line from this film was not in this clip. There's a whole boot camp section where someone asks if he's married and he replies, "No; I play the harmonica."
The person who thought of putting the round glasses on John for the movie didn't realise they were gonna make history
That would be Richard Lester. He also directed ‘A Hard Days Night’ and ‘HELP!’
Weren't they the NHS glasses?
Glasses already in the soup in Help!
Mr. Lester followed the same program
I saw a film today oh boy
The English army had just won the war
He blew his mind out in a car
gonzalo diaz omg I never thought that befour
Someone else gets it too
A crowd of people turned away...
One of my most favourite songs
But i just had to look
John and Ringo were just such naturals on the screen,
true
They were the 2 most animated members in the band😊😊😊
It's a shame they didn't do more serious acting, with a bit more of experience and training they would've been fantastic..
@@defaultc00kies63 nope because John are more comedian than drama and you hate beatles
But always remember Beatles are better than your idol
I agree
When he just looked at the camera and said, "I knew this would happen. You knew this would happen, didn't ya?" My heart ached and i felt a painful pit in my stomach
silent biotch :'(
is that because he actually died from getting shot and this scene was meant to be different at the time but now its just creepy yes i can agree
I know what you mean that last scene where John says "I knew this would happen", is disturbing to see now.
same.
Me too :-(
John lennon wrote strawberry fields forever during the shooting of this movie.
John looks very handsome.
Water is wet.
(✷‿✷)different images.
Especially the first run up to somebody scene!
He always is handsome

This movie marked the first time Lennon that wore glasses consistently in public.
they looked great on him!
They were a prop for the film which liked and carried on.
Johns laugh at 6:40 gets me every time lol

That last scene is frighteningly haunting, seeing as we all know what happened to John on December 8th 1980...
IMAGINE IF THIS WAS HD😭😭😭🤧
Imagine if he was still alive/he had made more music and movies etc??? Would be dope bcuz he's such an influential artiste imo👏👏
Imagine there’s one 4K
It’s easy if you try
Put on your NHS glasses!
I kinda think lennon was imitating Ringo's manner of speaking for this film alla Hard Day's Night, and he is devastatingly handsome here as well.
Haha!! Maybe at 6:22...😊😊😊
And ringo's awesome too, chill guy😊😊👍👍
I actually thought Ringo was speaking at 6:22 for a second lol
What a pleasure just to look at him, and hear him also, with that great accent.
The final scene..And his final words...i don't know how to explain it... It ...chilled me..my heart Just cry..

Kevin Smith - I agree with you on missing John Lennon.
yeah, the ending was freaky when he said " I knew this would happened. You knew it, didn't you," :( Very sad
He wrote Strawberry Fields Forever while filming this.
*steals milk* EH HE HE HE HE HE HEEEE

Its so weird to hear him say so lines. Makes you think i wonder if he thought about those lines the day he was shot.
Thank you sooooo much for this montage! I remember seeing the movie YEARS ago just to see John but thought the rest was horrible. So to see it this way with only what I care about it perfect :) :) :)
Lennon and Crawford look like brothers. Lithe and fit. Two geniuses in different ways. Roy Kinnear was a really great acting talent.
.. yes, loved Roy
@@imemine6494pity he couldn’t drive😁
Breaks the window with his rifle butt, and knocks over a flower pot. "Nice place you've got here." Classic.
Great line.
Wow! John Lennon and Michael Crawford together!!!!! The best musician and the best Phantom!!! LOL
Quite agree...peace and love from Merseyside
Wow ok that last sense made me cry my eyes out I was not expecting his to say “you knew this whould happen” like my face is wet with tears 😭
I think he knew what was really going to happen. A great loss to the world, not only in music but in every way.
Wow, that last scene.....my heart.❤️❤️❤️😢😢😢

The scenes in which John is speaking to the camera is so very much like Ferris Beuller isnt it?
Afrojack THAT'S a movie I would've killed to have seen.
Maybe that was inspired by this film? After all they did sing twist and shout
Yeah. Like Einstein is very much like Homer Simpson.
Kinda shallow, but this is probably the best John looked before he started growing unflattering facial hair.
-sunmask- his look in strawberry fields looked pretty wizard
@@los_mochissinaloa7807 lol I actually like his Sgt Pepper's look

Isn't that the same guy from Charlie and the chocolate factory?
Who knew John Lennon could be a funny badass
John: *looks at the milk suspicously and take it* EHEHEHEHEHEHEHEH!!!!
Jesus Christ, they way the video ends just after his words. Abruptly.
Very funny Film. Be good to see it on TV again. Happy 76th Birthday John.
I wish Lennon had been in more movies!
The last scene.. Good god I miss him.
John was surprisingly brilliant in this movie. And I wished he did more. His last scene moved me to tears because of what happened to him.
I love John Lennon💖💖💖
honestly, john and ringo were actually great actors.
*dont forget their amazing humor*
.. They weren't great actors
@@abcxyz53.. Now, I agree they were very funny, but that does not make them great actors... Lennon admitted it..

John had to get that brush cut for the film but didn't cut his hair again until 1970!
I doubt that. Started growing his hair in India in Feb 1968

Yep, for sure.
Maybe an understudy for Art Garfunkel?
yeah terrible film but who cares, John's in it. plus Frank Spencer! ;)
he has brief moments of comedy that is just so modern and surreal feeling, fascinating
truly good movie
and john lennon is good
This was filmed a month after the Beatles did their final tour in the U.S.
Somehow John is still hot in 244p quality videos 😂
"WW2 must've been terrifying! I'm just glad no one got hurt." - John Lennon
At the time John getting shot was easy to watch because well he was still alive and it was just acting , but watching it now just breaks my heart

Where can I find the full movie?
