Me too. I get convicted when I cuss. Even when I'm angry or I hurt myself. Not only because there should be no darkness, Even in our speech. But also because the anger or whatever emotion was the source, isn't an attribute of God then it isn't from him, then where is it from? Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. And if the heart is accompanied by these words then how is the Holy Spirit to live there. Looking at me you would not expect this to be my view on this, but I believe it is the truth and the new Testament is saturated with how we should speak and conduct our selves if we are to be ambassadors; imitating Jesus Christ.
Yeah that was beautiful and tbh they helped convict me too. Hearing their testimony of their experience with swearing and eventually coming to the realization that they shouldn't and all that touched me and made me reflect on myself as I from time to time have sworn since becoming a Christian as well, but hearing this convicted me and now I care a lot more and want to avoid saying swear words ever again. This is so great. I love that God is moving in all of their lives. I’m also glad that these girls were bold enough to shine a light on this area of sin. It was scary watching him squirm trying to justify this area the devil doesn’t want to let go of. The good news is that Jesus is the answer! 1) “George I VOW to quit cussing” 2) 2 minutes later: “*I don’t know how I’m going to attack this, but *I will fix this” 3) 1 minute later “I have a sexy neck” 4) 1 minutes later “I HATE THEM Christians” ”And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.“ Matthew 5:36-37 Seeds have been planted in George’s heart. That’s crazy that Angela brought up the cursing bc up until then I did cringe every time George cussed. It broke my focus every time. And I was very impressed with him being so understanding and vowed to try not to cuss anymore. That’s amazing.

@@duaneporter2061 The really Ironic part is the girls Biblical reference for "cursing" (meaning foul language) @ 1:04:09 they use Peter denying Jesus. But that section of scripture is not talking about Peter using foul words. Its talking about him breaking a vow he made in Matt 26:35 that he would not deny the Lord. "Even if I have to die with you I will not deny you". The ESV translates the later section where he denies Jesus as "Then Peter began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear "I do not know the man". Its got nothing at all to do with foul language. Its to do with breaking a previous vow he made - by breaking the vow he brings a curse on himself. The word used is: ἀναθεματίζω (anathematizō). vb. to invoke a curse, bind with an oath. Used to indicate a binding promise, with divine harm as the consequence. So weirdly ironic that the wrong understanding of this passage actually leads into the same type of sin Peter actually committed. Making and breaking of a vow.

I need to work on myself because I would’ve been so quick to point out his mistakes and there are some serious ones I noticed. He cusses, he slipped and mentioned his alternative response for his fiancée not willing to get in a car in an unsafe area as “bitch fine, get shot then and robbed” (39:37) and during the podcast he calls the women, “man” repeatedly. I believe it stems from his insecurity to not seem too eager or interested to chat with these beautiful and Godly women. When he asked them about what they wanted in a man and the girls mentioned they could speak “biblically” and he dismissed the value of God’s word for what he considered “real” for the women (36:04-36:06) “No! How you guys are”. (???) It really made me recognize that he has some work to go through and I’m glad he has a willing partner to do that with him. It’s difficult to unwind from the places he’s been and the people he’s been around. That growth is slow and steady but better than not at all. This podcast and hopefully this comment, makes him self-reflect on these things.

How much self-discipline would you have built along the way? (which positively affects other facets of your life). I guarantee you’ll wish to keep going. It’s the same with your tongue. But when i repented and i started praying and going to church when i was surrounded by these ppls everytime i was swearing they would look at me and i didn’t feel good or right. But slowly by the grace of the holy spirit i stopped. But honestly i still slip sometimes. But then ask for forgiveness. God bless you brother and give you the grace to help you stop. Angela is SO real for calling George out in regards to cussing. I used to think the same way but through the sanctification process, I know also cringe so hard when I hear cuss words. Ephesians 4:29 says “do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths,” and we are fooling ourselves when we pretend like the “f word” is wholesome in any circumstance.

I went 20+ years without swearing in public or private without understanding why- it just seemed to me like Christians and “nice girls” shouldn’t swear. In the last year or so, I started using swear words in the privacy of my home and in my car- and to watch my slowness to anger shrink day by day has been really surprising. Anger has always been something I’m really disconnected from, but the more I’ve given vent to frustration or pain by swearing, the more skilled I have become at getting and staying angry. This was a very timely watch for me, especially as I’ve been preparing to have children and want to give them solid reasons for why we do or don’t do certain things in our family. And as I was reminded by a She Reads Truth podcast this week: even if my disobedience only affects me (which is almost never the case), it still matters. Obedience is a decision of the heart even when the head may not understand, and our triune God wants to sanctify His triune creatures completely; body, soul, and mind.

This is sooo crazy, I’ve been wanting to get closer to God and these past few weeks I’ve been in a funk , depressed,angry at the world and I didn’t understand why . Today the first thing I did when I woke up I read a verse of my bible and felt so much better . I wis there was more authenticity, and transparency. Angela has had signifcant work done to her face. Look up her transformation-- Angela Halili. Nose job, fillers, botox, and a possible brow lift. God is still good, despite how we turn away from him. She was beautiful then, and of course, now.
I’ve tried everything. AA for 7 years, relapsed cause of horrible mental health issues. Sober again for 4 months still horrible mental health issues. Raised Christian found an amazing relationship with Christ then a bunch of bad things happened and my faith dwindled. I’m trying to hold on and most days I want to die even after reading scripture even after watching sermons. I’m holding on for dear life and my children and wife need me. I feel like garbage every single day but I never give up. I’ve been in those moments of on my knees on concrete crying out to God several times and got no answers. I wish life was different all I want is to give and receive love but I’m afflicted. Thanks for the pod. Wish I could get off my meds and be like you guys but everytime I do I go nuts. I worry about finances too much and being able to provide. I chose a different career path bc I believe God led me to it, he is providing everything we need but now I can’t sleep and my anxiety and worry and trust has left. Can I just say this is the most value I have ever gained from watching a podcast. George is a great example of how to navigate a relationship with God and your spouse. Angela and Ari are both beautiful examples of what I want my future wife to be like, their walk with the Lord is incredible. That's great you enjoyed watching Christians but you need to know that your belief in Buddhism will not give you eternal life. Only Jesus can as he is the way, the truth and the life. This may sound off to Christians because of having One Creator and One God. But to your surprise, we have more similarities than differences . Like we are all sinners, reap what we sow, and having the way to eternal life, we respect and fear our own God, we give nothing but love, grace, compassion, empathy to all people. And knowing that it is most likely- meditations or being a monk- doesn’t give lasting peace and answers to questions like: “what truly happens life after death.” Reincarnation is a belief developed by humans and therefore not trustworthy. I hope you will find God one day. I always believed in God and prayed to him. It took be a while to find him. I pray that you will find God like I have.
I have realised the demonic side of Buddhism and idolatry. The statues are human creation. I hope you realize that the futile nature of Buddhism. For example, Buddhists cannot truly have a relationship with God. A relationship consists of a conversation. A conversation is not just praying but also listening. Do you hear the voice of God? How does he speak to you? This made me truly realize. Christianity is real not only because of peace and joy and the love I received from God and people but also my inner transformation in character but most importantly- discerning his voice. I having a conversation with my best friend- God.

Me too. I get convicted when I cuss. Even when I'm angry or I hurt myself. Not only because there should be no darkness, Even in our speech. But also because the anger or whatever emotion was the source, isn't an attribute of God then it isn't from him, then where is it from?
Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. And if the heart is accompanied by these words then how is the Holy Spirit to live there. Looking at me you would not expect this to be my view on this, but I believe it is the truth and the new Testament is saturated with how we should speak and conduct our selves if we are to be ambassadors; imitating Jesus Christ.

Yeah that was beautiful and tbh they helped convict me too. Hearing their testimony of their experience with swearing and eventually coming to the realization that they shouldn't and all that touched me and made me reflect on myself as I from time to time have sworn since becoming a Christian as well, but hearing this convicted me and now I care a lot more and want to avoid saying swear words ever again. This is so great. I love that God is moving in all of their lives. I’m also glad that these girls were bold enough to shine a light on this area of sin. It was scary watching him squirm trying to justify this area the devil doesn’t want to let go of. The good news is that Jesus is the answer!

Seeds have been planted in George’s heart. Let’s pray that it is not rocky soil, but good soil.
George thinks he can change himself, but that would not be fruit of the spirit. The answer to George’s cussing problem is to *abide* in Jesus.
That is how we are transformed. We must abide in Jesus. The Holy Spirit can change our hearts like these girls said. While filled with the spirit and abiding in Jesus, the desire to cuss is defeated by our love for Jesus.

@@duaneporter2061 The really Ironic part is the girls Biblical reference for "cursing" (meaning foul language) @ 1:04:09 they use Peter denying Jesus. But that section of scripture is not talking about Peter using foul words. Its talking about him breaking a vow he made in Matt 26:35 that he would not deny the Lord. "Even if I have to die with you I will not deny you". The ESV translates the later section where he denies Jesus as "Then Peter began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear "I do not know the man". Its got nothing at all to do with foul language. Its to do with breaking a previous vow he made - by breaking the vow he brings a curse on himself. The word used is: ἀναθεματίζω (anathematizō). vb. to invoke a curse, bind with an oath. Used to indicate a binding promise, with divine harm as the consequence. So weirdly ironic that the wrong understanding of this passage actually leads into the same type of sin Peter actually committed. Making and breaking of a vow.

I need to work on myself because I would’ve been so quick to point out his mistakes and there are some serious ones I noticed. He cusses, he slipped and mentioned his alternative response for his fiancée not willing to get in a car in an unsafe area as “bitch fine, get shot then and robbed” (39:37) and during the podcast he calls the women, “man” repeatedly. I believe it stems from his insecurity to not seem too eager or interested to chat with these beautiful and Godly women. When he asked them about what they wanted in a man and the girls mentioned they could speak “biblically” and he dismissed the value of God’s word for what he considered “real” for the women (36:04-36:06) “No! How you guys are”. (???) It really made me recognize that he has some work to go through and I’m glad he has a willing partner to do that with him. It’s difficult to unwind from the places he’s been and the people he’s been around. That growth is slow and steady but better than not at all. This podcast and hopefully this comment, makes him self-reflect on these things.

But when i repented and i started praying and going to church when i was surrounded by these ppls everytime i was swearing they would look at me and i didn’t feel good or right. But slowly by the grace of the holy spirit i stopped. But honestly i still slip sometimes. But then ask for forgiveness. God bless you brother and give you the grace to help you stop. When Ari talked about one foot in one foot out and letting her old self die reminded me when i finally fully gave myself to god i remember mouring the death of my old self I cried until the Lord spoke to me and said "you have done well you are on the path that is life and you have lost your old self there will be much struggle and you will miss it" and then he asked me "is this worth it for you to give up?" and with one final powerful cry I said yes my Father I give everything to you and since then the most tiny things to the most biggest things the Lord is guiding me to fix and heal in my life and is blessing me in all measure!

Angela is SO real for calling George out in regards to cussing. I used to think the same way but through the sanctification process, I know also cringe so hard when I hear cuss words. Ephesians 4:29 says “do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths,” and we are fooling ourselves when we pretend like the “f word” is wholesome in any circumstance.

I went 20+ years without swearing in public or private without understanding why- it just seemed to me like Christians and “nice girls” shouldn’t swear. In the last year or so, I started using swear words in the privacy of my home and in my car- and to watch my slowness to anger shrink day by day has been really surprising. Anger has always been something I’m really disconnected from, but the more I’ve given vent to frustration or pain by swearing, the more skilled I have become at getting and staying angry.
This was a very timely watch for me, especially as I’ve been preparing to have children and want to give them solid reasons for why we do or don’t do certain things in our family. And as I was reminded by a She Reads Truth podcast this week: even if my disobedience only affects me (which is almost never the case), it still matters. Obedience is a decision of the heart even when the head may not understand, and our triune God wants to sanctify His triune creatures completely; body, soul, and mind.

This is sooo crazy, I’ve been wanting to get closer to God and these past few weeks I’ve been in a funk , depressed,angry at the world and I didn’t understand why . Today the first thing I did when I woke up I read a verse of my bible and felt so much better . I’ve tried everything. AA for 7 years, relapsed cause of horrible mental health issues. Sober again for 4 months still horrible mental health issues. Raised Christian found an amazing relationship with Christ then a bunch of bad things happened and my faith dwindled. I’m trying to hold on and most days I want to die even after reading scripture even after watching sermons. I’m holding on for dear life and my children and wife need me. I feel like garbage every single day but I never give up. I’ve been in those moments of on my knees on concrete crying out to God several times and got no answers. I wish life was different all I want is to give and receive love but I’m afflicted. Thanks for the pod. Wish I could get off my meds and be like you guys but everytime I do I go nuts. I worry about finances too much and being able to provide. I chose a different career path bc I believe God led me to it, he is providing everything we need but now I can’t sleep and my anxiety and worry and trust has left. Wish life was different but it’s not. I appreciate listening to this and wish I could get back to fully turning my will and life over to Christ

And if you really find out more about Buddhism, you will know we do have our way to paradise and eternal life, who is the great Amitabha Buddha. And there many Buddhas and Bodhisattva, who served different purposes in the different realms & dimensions or universe we called, like the west it’s called angels and archangels.
This may sound off to Christians because of having One Creator and One God. But to your surprise, we have more similarities than differences .
Like we are all sinners, reap what we sow, and having the way to eternal life, we respect and fear our own God, we give nothing but love, grace, compassion, empathy to all people.
But whether it’s Buddha or Bodhisattva or Jesus or Prophet, we can share that they are all sent by God to serve and help people with different cultures and ethnicities. 😇
The reason I chose Buddhism is because it’s beyond eternal life, it’s enlightenment. In the west spiritual master can reach highest form of consciousness, pure light/love, but Enlightenment is beyond that. And in Buddhism there’s a lot of truths about laws of universe, even science are studying it , as well as a lot predictions were accurately predicted throughout history.
As Buddhism, we love and embrace all religions as long as they are have faith in their own God, it’s a beautiful thing to watch, and we wish them nothing but the best in their spiritual journey. 😇🤍

@@victortan4069 hi. I used to be a former Buddhist, but even Buddha doesnt claim to be God- he was a prince from India seeking God. So Buddhism is a philosophy.
And knowing that it is most likely- meditations or being a monk- doesn’t give lasting peace and answers to questions like: “what truly happens life after death.” Reincarnation is a belief developed by humans and therefore not trustworthy. I hope you will find God one day. I always believed in God and prayed to him. It took be a while to find him. I pray that you will find God like I have.
I have realised the demonic side of Buddhism and idolatry. The statues are human creation. I hope you realize that the futile nature of Buddhism. For example, Buddhists cannot truly have a relationship with God. A relationship consists of a conversation. A conversation is not just praying but also listening. Do you hear the voice of God? How does he speak to you? This made me truly realize. Christianity is real not only because of peace and joy and the love I received from God and people but also my inner transformation in character but most importantly- discerning his voice. I having a conversation with my best friend- God.

Going to be completely honest: A lot of it feels like an act. If they really wanted to be wives they would have found an actual good man. I think they're holding out hope for the 10/10 Chad to wife them up, but that will not happen.
