Hi Cynthia! I'm so glad that you are feeling better. I read Unearthed last year and it still haunts me. Disturbing is great way to describe this book.

Thank you! I found myself just repeating the word 😅

Yikes that you both came down with covid at the same time, and that it hit you both so hard. I'm glad your grades were submitted beforehand, though! And I'm with you on struggling if one of the characters in a romance book does something that feels unforgivable to me - even if the other character forgives it, it makes me disinvested in the relationship.

My next goal is to not get covid again but it might be hard because we are now regularly making visits to an assisted living facility 😔

There are so many lapsed lawyers in romance, I have to wonder if Mea Monique is one of them 😂 Booo sketchy consent, though! Not cool.
YAAAAAY Brotherless Night! I agree with everything you say here, so so good. I'm hoping it makes it onto some prize lists, maybe the Women's Prize? 👀
This may just be because I'm watching your videos back to back 😁but it sounds like several of the romances you've been reading lately have a power imbalance at the center of them. That, or a "we can't be together because it would look really bad", whatever that conflict is. I recently read a boss/employee romance that handled this well, so it may just be at top of mind for me 😆
I am so sorry you both went down at the same time, that really sucks! 😷 At the same time, I'm glad that you were able to rest and recover completely. Be well over there 💗

That's is definitely the theme! I'm trying to actually read things I've had on my Kindle for a while so this might reflect the mood I was in 5 years ago 😅😂
