Awesome Diane! Love these simple wholesome unfussy recipes!! Thank you! Xx
You are very welcome, Miss Lucie!
Putting Burnning Love on the menu this week. Thanks!
I am making this tonight! I'm really enjoying your cooking videos, I love trying to make food from different cultures and countries.
How sweet you are to share your regular family cooking! I, too, love butter, cream, mashed potatoes and bacon. How good your house must have smelled with all that cooking of onions and bacon. Off to the grocery store :)
Thank you Diane!! You make it look easy and tasty!!
I'm vegetarian so I am going to try this with smoked temph. Looks so yummy!
Yay, I have all these ingredients, even the leeks. I'm going to try this tmrw. Today's is already planned. Thanks Diane.
Thanks for sharing the comfort food recipes!!! I always think much to complecated when I sit down and do mealplanning!
It is finally sommer, and then I found this recipe... omg! Looking forward to make it!
Oh, my, that looks so good!! I will definitely be making that!
Yummy!! Thanks for sharing this recipe!
As someone with Scottish ancestry who graduated from Glasgow university, I adore your Scottish references and enjoy learning all about Denmark. 😀
Definitely gonna try it....with the extra veggies too...yum!
1.5 semi skimmed. You brought back funny memories of my mum again. My sister is a weight watchers leader and mentor so told my mum not to get full fat milk. So one day she proudly told us, "I've managed to get that semi skilled milk." So funny. Another great video. Thank you Diane .lol Margaret in Wales
Was going to look for a recipe for a cake for my Accessories Swap Party next week .
so I'll just make this and decorate it with fun things for the swap. Maybe some flowers for spring!🌹🌷🌸🌺🌼 Thanks, Diane! once again you came through with what I needed! Go you !!🎉🎉
take care,
Reggie
This is an inexpensive good tasting simple dish. I like it!
Loved your explanation of Stovies and also the joke. Love from Glasgow
Sounds delicious. With autumn beginning here in New Zealand, I will definitely be serving this one up.
Hope you enjoy it, Julie!
Thanks Diane - what I’d give for a plate of my Mum’s ‘Stovies’! I know my DH will adore ‘Burning Love’ and I’ll surprise him with an Easter Marzipan Cake - he raved about the one I made at Christmas.
I'm with you, there is nothing like mashed potatoes, especially with cream and butter! Yummmy! Well, lol I wasn't even close on the pronunciation, Danish is complicated. 🤓 Have a blessed Easter!⛪️🐣🐇🌼💐. I don't think Marzipan is easily available here in the States unless it's called something else. It seems like most of our cakes have buttercream or whipped cream toppings. Some are covered with thin layers of fondant but even those have buttercream between the layers. Maybe it's just because I live in a rural area, maybe city groceries carry it? I'd be interested if other Americans 🇺🇸 have the same experience? Looking forward to trying your dinner roll recipe. 🇩🇰 Thank you again for all your videos!
Looks delicious 😋 I was afraid you were going to use the canned fried onions from the grocery store. Streaky bacon 🥓 is so good and the fat from it could be used for frying the onions.
Oooh looks good! I want to try the marzipan cake again, my last one was a tasty disaster 😂 it didn't want to cook... 🤔 Thank you! 😊 x x x
Oh no, I wonder what went wrong? It can take a long time to cook so maybe try it in a bigger pan...it's best fairly flat and thin as opposed to small and chubby because it IS a very heavy mixture. Good luck, Kathelle!
Diane in Denmark it was an 8 inch springform tin... I started it before church and it wasn't cooked by the time we left (it had had the time you said on the video) and I just left the oven on timer and guessed how much extra it needed. The outer 2cm was cooked, the rest was half raw 😂 tasted good though 😉 x x x
Then I'd definitely try a bigger tin next time or turn up the heat and give it a wee bit longer. Sometimes the size of the eggs can make a difference, the type of butter, etc.
Diane in Denmark good plan 😊 DH loves marzipan so I'll definitely try again, thanks! X x x
Sounds delicious 😋
Burning Love (brændende kærlighed) is traditionally served with pickled beetroots either sliced on the side or cubed and sprinkled on top
I had to laugh because that is such a common phrase here in the US.."...and who doesn't like bacon?!" Me. And my husband too! We are not vegetarian or anything, we both just put bacon in the category with licorice. No one understands our disdain for it, haha But, Mmmmm the potatoes look so good and I leave the skins on too for the same reasons as you do ;) Also, I love how you use carrots so often to fry up. I never cared for carrots that much until I decided to saute them with other veggies.... they taste so good that way. Thank you for the hapPy recipes to keep us going because really, food does evoke feelings of joy! Who can describe what leeks tastes like? I thought I might try them soon :)
I meant the cake! Not the" burning love"😉for the swap!
Burning Love is yummy-yummy
I love how you said "Who doesn't love bacon?". It's literally the worst food in the world to me.
LOL! There's always an exception to the rule!
Dear Diane, you talked too much during your cooking in this episode. I had been so interested in that typical Easter menue, but in the end I couldn't write down anything. Finally I got headache. Normally I like your videos, always trying to copy sth in order to improve my housework step by step. Maybe it would help if there were some notes on the table to "spy" from time to time.
