- My surgery day for my V-line (jaw shaving surgery) and rhinoplasty / nose job has come! Here's my pre-surgery regrets and freakout + post-op thoughts on pain level and recovery.

Please refrain from comments like "you didn't need it" "why would you do that" etc., I am 24 years old, I knew what I was getting myself into. I do not wish to promote plastic surgery to anyone through these videos, my only hope is that this could provide more insight on what to expect with plastic surgery along with tips to help make an informative decision for those that are looking for more information on these procedures.
Daily Diary Post-OP:
Day 1: Nagging pain as general anesthesia wore off- swelling isn't bad yet but was told that it would peak days 2-3. Had a few hours of sleep- but sleep schedule still messed up due to jet lag so waking up every 2-3 hours, also rotated ice pack for face often so it worked out. I stayed overnight at the hospital the first night and was discharged at 11 am the next day after Dr. Oh's visit. I am just sore like after I got my wisdom teeth removed.
Day 2: Swelling like a little pumpkin & doing a lot of walking to help with that & it also makes me feel better. Throat is clogged up from phlegm that I can't spit up since I hate doing that so I'm just not talking much - walking with Shantea helps and is fun but it's the ultimate don't laugh challenge - so we don't tear our stitches and I try not to say anything funny to get her going. Pain is still same nagging annoying pain but nothing I can't handle.
Day 3: Peak swelling today- went to walk outside to help with that but it was so cold and incredibly uncomfortable and tedious and the phlegm in my throat wasn't helping much with my breathing- finally got 6 full hours of sleep feeling more rested
Day 4: Swelling peaked after waking up and went down as day progressed, incorporated facial massage and heat and ice pack alternating 20-30 mins per hour and massage in between. Finally able to poop again. (Sorry TMI) No pain at all today.
Day 5: Slept 8 straight hours woke up just as swollen as last night. No pain- just discomfort you'd get if your face was swollen like infected balls. Routine- Wakeup- drink hella water, go pee. Spit out hella phlegm. Wash face. Grab face icepack. Walk hella. Drink more water. Breakfast. Meds.
Day 6: No pain or anything new to note
Nose job local anesthesia sedation was brutal. Could not swallow water easily that night bc the gauze pack in my nose. Everytime i swallowed it was a drowning sensation. Pain is only behind ear where they took cartilage and it stings
Day 7: Removed stitches for hairline incision. Didn't feel a thing. Removed nose gauze- can finally breathe- it was horrible swallowing water and feeling like you're drowning. Removing the gauze was horrible like it was removing tubes from my mouth after v line surgery. Nagging sting around ear. Cleaning 10x a day quite tedious but important. They took my blood. Gave me an antibiotic shot. Quick visit.

Here's what no one gets. They spread body positivity and "you should love the way god made you" and shit but even they know they are lying to themselves. It doesn't matter what everyone else thinks, if you don't like the way you look period then there's no way you can be happy. You have to love yourself before others do. So if she chose plastic surgery let her. No one would understand but her because that's her body. Plus I think she looks good. Whatever you can do to love yourself more id say go for it.

The god damn truth. I hate it when people who already pretty or people who aren’t self conscious say that yoh are pretty just the way you are, everyone is different and I think you should have have the right to do what you want to you body
totally agree. i lost 70lbs and had surgery. at first my friends were all like 'u look beautiful the way u are blah blah blah' but obviously i was unhealthy and unhappy. after my weightloss they r all like'omg u changed so much u are so much prettier!!!' . and a few months ago i had my nose job, my parents and my boyfriend were all so supportive, but my friends were like 'omg r u retarted blabla bla they tricked u etc'(my nose was quite flat and short). now they look at my face and be like 'wow you look so good and natural!' seriously, do what you want to do dont let other peoples white lies stop you. because at first my friends didnt think my weightloss would be successful, i felt ashamed of dieting and hid at home so i didnt have to go out and not eat junk food being the odd one out.
.......... I......... D-dont.......believe in God 😶 but Its true that you should not do a plactic surgery

I just don't understand a lot of the hate you've been getting. The many comments berating you for altering your physical appearance are so hypocritical since they've let a physical change alter their opinion of you. Getting plastic surgery does not mean the person getting the alterations is weak minded or destructive.

Personally plastic surgery is not my thing, but to each their own and I hope you are happy. For those who are considering plastic surgery, I hope you know that plastic surgery won't necessarily make you a happier person, because insecurities are internal, not external. But for some people, maybe it helps boost their confidence and give them a different experience when interacting with the world. We all have insecurities, and I understand we all deal with them differently. My only hope is that I hope people don't forget that your self-perception and acceptance comes from within. It doesn't matter how many people tell you you're beautiful if you don't believe it yourself.

llangel314ll unfortunately for some people like myself who were really confident as kids, you grow up noticing a couple things about your appearance that make you really uncomfortable with yourself. For me, it is facial assymetry. I noticed it one day and gazed at myself in disbelief: the level of assymetry in my face was shocking. If surgery could fix that for me im sure itd mske me much more confident about myself. I do understand your point of view though

j you should look into deems rolling! It's amazing for lightening & getting rid of scars, shrinking pores, reducing wrinkles & overall boosting your skins collagen. Also look into bha exfoliators, Paula's choice makes great ones. Rosehip oil is also a great oil to moisturize with and lightening scars as well

I am genuinely interested in getting rhinoplasty so I have a few questions:
- What was the cost of the surgery?
- How long did it take for you to recover
- I assume you work, did you have to take a whole month off for recovery?
It depends on what kind of rhinoplasty ur going into ..NDddddd ...it takes 2 months probably or more than 2 somewhat 3 months most probably for full recover.
im in my first year of pharmacy school and i really look up to you as a role model! that being said im glad you were open about this whole thing :) a lot of people tend to keep these details private or something to be ashamed of (ive also thought about surgery but ive been super hesitant to look into it because of what people might think of me). but since you posted this i feel like youre helping to get rid of the stigma.

The only plastic surgery procedure I'd ever get done is a tummy tuck after I have kids, but major props to you for posting a video of your facial plastic surgery journey. It can't be easy knowing that the entire world will voice their opinions on a personal decision you made. Your happiness with yourself is all that really matters, so you have my full support.

I just read some comments and I wanted to say ... For the majority of us, we all already find you beautiful and gorgeous. But as you said, it's something that you wanted, that you meditated. And at this point, I see it as you made a piercing or a tattoo : it's permanent more or less the same way. That is why I think that some people's reactions were maybe a bit "too much" and almost hurtful (but I understand and respect them).

the thing is, if you compare her old face with makeup on to her new face with makeup on, there will be 2 huge differences. its not like makeup does what surgery does. she wants to feel more confident in her appearance WITHOUT having to cover her face with makeup

Jasmin T Beer well for me I'm getting a rhinoplasty for my nose because my nose has been crooked really bad after a fight with my friends also making one of my nostrils blocked now I could have gotten it when I was 12 but I was told my body was still growing so I couldn't so I'm waiting till I turn 17 so I can have it you could say my reason is so I can breathe and fix the shape of my nose at the same time
she looks like a different person with no makeup like some people just look different she looks like a totally different person it's crazy! Hi lili! I've been a follower of yours since 2010. Damn! Korea looks beautiful and the doctor you went too seems really good. I think you're so brave to be posting this. I know the hate can be brutal. Don't let it get to you. But I am glad you are happy! These are very helpful to me as well. When I was little, I had very bad torticollis in my neck. So my placement of my ears are asymmetric, and I hate the way my face looks uneven (it is especially noticeable to me when i am at a heavier weight..like now..because the eating season passed and now i gotta work out AAHAH). The left side of my face is much less refined and more flat, whereas the right is more refined and shapely. It is very minimal, as my parents put one of those "helmet" thing on me when i was a baby to help it grow into the correct shape. (One guy wanted to do a huge skul surgery on me when i was around 2, but there was a risk i'd lose a significant amount of IQ points). Most people can't tell at all, but I am a perfectionist and am very hypercritical about my looks. I'm not interested in any sort of the skull reduction or jaw reduction or however you call it that is popular because of the "heart" shape jaw line, but I hate how my face shape is because of the torticollis. Im 19, but ive been having face surgery in the back of my mind since i was 15. This is really helpful to me. My best friend from Seoul is hosting me next summer, so I am thinking deeply about if i really want to go to this extent or not. (it is also a money issure for me, because it can be pricey). Would you give any advice to someone else considering this? How did you know you were sure you were going to go through with it?
I think you were really pretty before but i guess i understand. this is what you want and you only live once.. make the best of it and just do what you want
Is this why recovery is so fast in Korean plastic surgeries? I've seen plastic surgery shows here in the U.S and never see it include trips to the dermatologist. I'm amazed how they house you and make sure food is provided for your surgery recovery needs.

One of my biggest concerns about getting v-line surgery is potential damage of the nerves or sagging. So far, have you experienced any side effects post surgery? Also did you have to take any precautions? for example I would think that v-line surgery thins your bones, thus making it more prone to serious damage to the jaw if one gets into a car accident or something. I really want to get it but I'm so scared ;-;

I wanna get mine done as well. Both nose and jaw. My face is asymmetrical (one side is fatter than the other) and its annoying me. I also wanna get this big bump on my forehead removed.

I’m interested in the vline surgery just cause I* feel like my jaw line isnt flattering. I just had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed about a month and a half ago and the pain wasn’t bad so to hear you say it’s not as bad as getting wisdom teeth removed, i’m relieved lol. The part I hated the most was not being able to chew!

Same along with v-line surgery and make my eye shape upturned and more almond shape/feline and lip fillers. But I don’t have to travel to Korea for lip fillers but I’d definitely do surgery there because they’re very good at it there and always give such amazing and natural looking results and I think it’s safer to do it there.
Dang these RUclipsrs make a lot of money it seems . I can barely afford a fraction of all the stuff I see in their videos and can barely afford a weekend vacation but they are living it up .

hi lillisimply, did you experience any sagging in your jawline area. I heard v line can sag your skin? i want to take the leap with this surgery but this is holding me back.
If surgery is something that will make you feel better about yourself then do what you got's to do (no hate).However, I've always thought you were absolute stunning and beautiful just the way you were before.

I assume she went to Korea since it is the plastic surgery center of the world and is more practiced with asian faces. In the USA rhinoplasty is more focused on reducing the nose not implants/fillers like she got
