lifting usually happens if you don’t fully prep the natural nail.. this includes doing a fresh set or a fill. Try using a cuticle bit to remove the dead skin, then a medium grit sanding band at a low setting around the cuticle area.. that removes shine and any extra dead skin on the nail bed around that area. Then use the dehydrator to get rid of any excess oils, It helps me & I don’t experience any lifting on myself or clients.

One mistake I used to make is doing the base gel on all my nails then curing it. Then doing my polygel one nail at a time then curing after each nail. I realized my base gel was curing too much between each nail cure. Now I do base coat then polygel one nail at a time.
I put base on all of my nails then work one by one and I get no lifting and can wear them well over 3 weeks I honestly think it’s bc she’s using acetone as slip
Oh my goodness you are the cutest thing. I am new to doing my own nails. I bought a ‘starter’ kit of polygel, and a drill. I was looking for drilling tips as I am nervous to get started with it - but you talked me down off the ledge, lol. Anyway, I am jumping in and I really enjoyed watching some of your videos. Thanks so much!
I have used gel before but not poly so your video was very easy to follow.I just have one question do the nails stay on well or pop off after a week or two..thanks.
I’ve always wondered how to do a fill in with poly gel and haven’t seen a video that shows you that part. That’s why I have been hesitant to buy poly gel ( there might be videos I just haven’t seen them). I appreciate this. Your nails are soooooo cute btw !!
I love that you’re showing this. Not being a professional actually encourages me to try it too. You do a great job! Where did you find your sweater? I’ve been looking for that color!
I’m not even kidding- since quarantine I’ve ordered the same polygel, same gelish kit, the same foil glue anddddd the same butterfly transfers 👯♀️👯♀️ I swear it was before I saw this and I didn’t straight up copy 😜
I desperately need an efile I’m a week & a half out from when I did this set and like 3 of my nails have a little bit of lifting because I struggle with my cuticle prep 🙃 Does anyone have any tips?
Does the acetone help make the polygel more manageable to shape? I usually use 70% alcohol but notice that the polygel gets harder to manipulate if I take too long.
If you go on Amazon and type in base and tip coat anyone you find will work perfectly. The lavender brand has a set of base coat with 2 top coats a regular shiny one and a matte finish one. Both are no wipe and you get all 3 for around 10$. I HIGHLY recommend that set. Works flawlessly. Oh and they're full size bottles.
I personally don’t know of any salons using poly gel. As far as doing my own fill in, I was able to do it one time after my set grew out. After that I had to just do a fresh set.
hi, it is posible to learn throu RUclips tutorials without attending nail school. tnx in advance. I am always watching your videos so inspiring. Godbless
I am a nail tech, and commented on one of your videos a few weeks ago, and oh my gooooood you have come such a far way. And your nails look *amazing* But I see that u use the "Gelish foundation", which I personally hate:/ so I think that could be the reason for your liftings
I'm a diyer and I usually use Bluesky or Kodi rubberized gel base coats. I've also used non branded inexpensive base coats and I've never had a nail pop off and rarely get any lifting. It's really true what the professional nail techs say "it's all about the preparation". But under curing could be an issue also. I think that if a nail lamp is UV only, gels need to be cured for 2 minutes.
I used it because alcohol has been hard to come by due to the pandemic. And a lot of people were asking for a substitute. But I would typically use alcohol, and thanks for the tip!
You may not realize you said it, but you don't get fungus from an "air pocket". Air does not create it, actually it helps it! Fungus starts because that "pocket" as you call it has gotten moisture in there from the natural nail itself and the water that you can get into and it cannot dry out. That is what causes the fungus. Im sure you know that but just made a mistake. I just wanted to tell you just in case you were misinformed and did not realize that is how it grows.
Acetone is NOT supposed to be used as slip solution because it is use to soak them off and using it to mold the nails isn't good! ( not tryna be mean, just saying❤ )
Acetone actually can’t soak off polygel. To remove polygel you need to file down to the tip and then soak off the tip. And I only used acetone because it was requested. 💕

One mistake I used to make is doing the base gel on all my nails then curing it. Then doing my polygel one nail at a time then curing after each nail. I realized my base gel was curing too much between each nail cure. Now I do base coat then polygel one nail at a time.
Oh that is a great tip! I typically stick my fingers in one at a time when curing the polygel but thank you for the tip!
Does it make a difference? I put the base coat on all My nails then do the polygel
I put base on all of my nails then work one by one and I get no lifting and can wear them well over 3 weeks I honestly think it’s bc she’s using acetone as slip
......I literally just did that as my first set... and it took me 6 hours to finish it.... I- 😭

I like this method! Makes things faster 😊

Girl help me out i dont have a primer do you think i need a primer for polygel , i have base coat. Do you think thats going to last without primer. ?
Man I love these videos!!
I desperately need an efile
I’m a week & a half out from when I did this set and like 3 of my nails have a little bit of lifting because I struggle with my cuticle prep 🙃
Does anyone have any tips?
ohhh i love this!!! great job!
The Destine Show is an American television series. It on Freeform from May 20 2020 to June 22 2022.
they look soo GOOD!!! if i were you I'd switch to alcohol instead of acetone, been there done that ended up ruining my brushes :(
omg i love it !
Thank you so much!
Does the acetone help make the polygel more manageable to shape? I usually use 70% alcohol but notice that the polygel gets harder to manipulate if I take too long.
What fonts did you use in your thumbnail?
I love it gonna try it on a client
Love these 😍
These are so boom.SLAY SIS❤❤❤❤🙂✨🙂☺😊🔥😊🔥☺✨🔥
great tutorial
Thank you
can u name a other brand for the top coats and foundation for the nails ? They are so expensive 🥴
Loved watching this video beautiful 💕💝
I'm sorry.. did you say you were using acetone for slip?!?!
amazing!!
How many times can you refill polygel on your nails? Or is it however long you want, like you would going to the salon to get them refilled?
I personally don’t know of any salons using poly gel. As far as doing my own fill in, I was able to do it one time after my set grew out. After that I had to just do a fresh set.
New sub and I love your content!! #newfav 🥰💜
omg yes please do more polygel vids
hi, it is posible to learn throu RUclips tutorials without attending nail school. tnx in advance. I am always watching your videos so inspiring. Godbless
Yes it’s possible, with practice! I didn’t attend nail technician school and I do my own nails.
thank u so much to your message im from Philippines im so happy to read your advice thank u. more video pls😘
Your nails look great! One tip...you shouldn’t use acetone as a slip solution. Use rubbing alcohol. 70% or higher.
I didn’t see the link for the e-file 😭😭
Oop- lemme go add it!
“Nail porn”. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am a nail tech, and commented on one of your videos a few weeks ago, and oh my gooooood you have come such a far way. And your nails look *amazing*
But I see that u use the "Gelish foundation", which I personally hate:/ so I think that could be the reason for your liftings
Yess agreed.
I've seen lifting with that foundation base and modelones base as well.
Which base is your favorite?
@@starhill6792 My absolute favourite is the flexx base from glory nails! I love it and never get ligting and the nails can last for months
I think you have lifting because you use acetone as a slip solution but you should use alcohol or an extra slip solution for polygel 😊
Aaand don’t use so much liquid that it drips of your brush !! This Leads also to lifting
I used it because alcohol has been hard to come by due to the pandemic. And a lot of people were asking for a substitute. But I would typically use alcohol, and thanks for the tip!
Acetone is exactly why you are getting lifting.
They're called nippers (the cuticle cutters)😊
You NEED base coat if applying polygel to ANY natural nail. Period. Dehydrator isn't necessary but base coat IS!!! 100%
not gonna lie i’ve watched this video at least 30 times😭
Muitooooooo muito lindasss🥰😍🤩
New subscriber 😁😁
Hey girl hey! Welcome welcome welcome 💕
I see you’ve got yourself the electric filer. I was thinking the same. It takes foreverrrrr manually.
It really does! I would definitely say it’s worth the investment if you plan on doing your own nails often!
You should try baby boomer nails
I wouldn’t recommend cutting the lifting away. With filing it, it will pop off on its own.
Wait? You can use acetone as a slip for poly gel? I did not know that lol 🤦🏻♀️ 😂
NOOOOOO!! Use rubbing alcohol. Acetone will give you bubbles and or streaky finish.
TFS 💅💅💅
Giiiirl ur struggling so hard omg. This must have taken u many hours. I hope itll get easier soon
Yes but practice makes perfect, so no worries.
❤💙
When you take them off can you film it please!!
Lovvvvvve, nails A1 💕
❤️
😍😍🔥
Dont need that glue...... Anything that leaves a sticky layer will work... Even the poly gel after curing if its sticky.. Then put ur top coat 👌
goodNice to meet a nice friend
I'm watching a nice, nice video
Always happy and the best video
Thank you.~^^403
Jasmyn Billie Cat Destine 😂

It’s beautiful girl 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😘🌸
Thank you hun 🥰💖
Omg I thought the tips were mint green 😂

You are completely right! That was what I meant 😌
Is it just me or she kinda sounds like Billie eilish sometimes 😂
Destin corona virus...😂😂😂😂😂
You sound like Doja Cat
she sounds like doja cat
Acetone is NOT supposed to be used as slip solution because it is use to soak them off and using it to mold the nails isn't good! ( not tryna be mean, just saying❤ )
Acetone actually can’t soak off polygel. To remove polygel you need to file down to the tip and then soak off the tip. And I only used acetone because it was requested. 💕
I take it you aren’t a professional?
She's not, she's self taught I believe
Nope not a professional!
