    that repurposing of old songs to make them fresh, wouldn't that be considered copyright infringement ? because the songs have been written by someone else or even taken lyrics from someone else's work even if it's just a few words.

    • @THERAPCOACH

      Yeah if you blatantly bite it but if you make a reference you can’t be sued

      @@THERAPCOACH I’m sure those artist that have used it have got approval or paid to use it. I’m currently taking a music business class and this is one of the things my professor talked about. Without the artist approval you can be sued for it.

      You can be sued for anything tbh but there are cases where there is no trouble. There are millions of rappers that have referenced other rappers and you have seen any lawsuits for it. There will always be exceptions but me personally idgaf if I like the line ima reference it 🤷🏾‍♂️

    Wont it be considered Copyright to sample the lyrics of another rapper like don't it need to be cleared?

    • @THERAPCOACH
      @THERAPCOACH  4 года назад +6

      To “sample” yes to reference no.

    • @NolyJ
      @NolyJ 6 месяцев назад

      You only need to clear it if you use the audio. If you don't use the audio that its not a sample it's interpolation
