- review of world's most selling permanent jewelry Argon M pulse welding machine. also accessories, its working performance, build quality, sizing/dimension and its weight.
I have "Amazon" version and although it somewhat works, it is defective by design. It does not control arc current well. What it is inside is a 42V 130000mfd capacitor bank discharging through 0.1-0.2 Ohm resistor through stylus. The duration of the pulse is controlled in steps of 3ms up to 30ms. Since resistance is very small, it is comparable with that of wires, so it is really not predictable what will be the actual current. There is no choke (inductor) and there is no smooth current rise or regulation. As the result, the arc spot is uncontrolled while the stylus moves, and the current is larger than optimum for the used electrode diameter. It creates burns on materials that easily evaporate or meld (like bronze). It does somewhat weld stainless steel and copper. I did modify it to make it work better, but certainly it is not correct design of arc control. One can reuse some components like stylus, transformer, capacitor bank and argon valve.
The "burn" is due to you not using argon...inert gas can be important
@@mr.perfect1er Thanks for reply, but I am using argon in enough flow (as I am doing a lot of TIG welding). The problem of this welder is in un-controlled current and wrong timing. The correct implementation starts with nearly zero current when there is a contact, 2-3A when the arc length is ~0.05..0.1mm followed by programmed pulse of 10-100A after. This welder does not have this logic, it applies maximum current even ~3ms before the arc starts sometimes. And since maximum current is applied at the very beginning, some of non-noble materials splash and burn. This is the design defect and it can be fixed by adding current profile regulator circuit in the same way as in more expensive welders. If you are interested, I can send you the plots of current and voltage vs time when welding. So while this welder "can" be somehow used, it is defective by design.
Hello, can you show us your modification on your welder, with the addition of your regulator. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for making this video. Can you use a different gas other than argon? aragon is expensive and hard to get where I am
You welcome, i have rechecked the user manual there is only argon gas mentioned. also the regulator comes with it is made for argon and gas hose connector at the back of welding unit connector is build same like those 6mm and 8mm on its regulator.
Yes argon is expensive and There was no smaller tank in our area so i had to buy big tank approx. 5 feet tall. but now i can exchange empty tank free with only gas refill price which is equal to US$:30 I bought good quality tank equal to $125 plus $30 for a gas and its regulator was $25.
Also Argon is a shield gas "Non-Flammable" which helps in reducing burning of a weld area and electrode tip. its regulator is made to handle only argon gas.
Warning: any flammable gas will burn everything.
@@video-viewers Thank you so much!

Have you connected an argon gas tank?
Yes sir, @14:15 an argon gas was connected because there were 60 globes to weld with hundreds of spots. Argon helps weld area do not burn so much also electrode wont burn quickly with the help of argon. but it also works without argon but electrode sharp tip burn quickly without argon and we have to sharpen an electrode after 5-10 spots depending on the power we select.
@@video-viewers thanks for your tour reply!
I have the same welder,i have connected the argon but it is leaking,i have connected the provided regulator.
I was wondering if you had any issues and if so let me know.
Indeed it is a good device!!
@@OroaMano i have a large argon tank which also have a regulator with flow meter where i open it till stainless steel floating ball of a flow meter reaches at number 5 not more, Then 0.1mpa/15psi on a regulator of welding machine. The main tank regulator controls the flow maybe thats why i do not face leakage issue. I have also bought both separate pipes in longer lengths according to my space which are blue in color. i have not uses those short in lengths black pipes which comes with it.
@@video-viewers thanks!!!
I want to weld without argon gas, does it still have to be installed or does it work without installing the gas? thank u
Hi, Gas is not needed to run a unit. it works without argon gas. Gas is just to help sothat tip of an electrode wont wearout quickly and welded area wont have burn mark when weld on high power.
Thank you for visiting.
@@video-viewers thank u. I will weld orthodontic appliances and dental orthopedics.
Need help, I also purchased from Amazon and connected all parts except argon gas, everything lights up accordingly including pen needle retract then pulls back to original position when turned on, however there's NO spark from needle at all...what am I doing wrong? 🤕
Hi, have you connected tweezer or aligator clamp to a welding machine and hold a workpiece which needs to be welded with one of them?
@@video-viewers Thanks for quick reply, aligator clamp and tweezer are connected to each of two outlets and yes I connect either to metal before touching the pen needle....all light up yet no response from pen. It's quite frustrating when company doesn't even have website to aid help!
@@SK-wp6vh yes you are right.
there are 2 lights Wait and Ready. sometimes wait indication light takes a long till light of ready lit. when ready light turns on then it starts working. also check my video of its user manual maybe you could take some idea from there which we are missing here. do let us know.
@@video-viewers Light's always on Wait mode, have never seen on Ready mode like yours, I even left it 30min few times but still on Wait mode only! I'll return it and order same but other brand will cross my finger! 😬
@@SK-wp6vh Hi, Sir there should be some problem with a unit they sold you. if there is any chance to replace it, kindly do.
More like a set up video and not a review...just sayin
Well noted Sir.
crap.
