These kinds of videos are amazing. I get bored with my style often and I feel I am always on the hunt for new pieces. I know it's not good for my budget or the planet to be constantly buying new things and many influencers will lead people to think it's the only way to stay in style. Please keep making this kind of content, it is really inspiring :)
I've been binge watching your content for the past few days and you really have such an eye! Your content is already inspiring me to try new things I hadn't thought of with my own clothes and also to explore more when it comes to accessories. I've never been super into shoes and bags but recently I've been getting excited to style outfits with them.
So so happy you have been enjoying the content! Thank you so much Kaila, happy exploring the accessories, they can make a huge difference to so many outfits :)) x
Your restyling videos are absolutely stunning, the way you reimagine your old outfits and make them better really amazes me
Aw thank you, this is so kind! I would LOVE to film a part 3 maybe in a few more weeks/month to follow up on this :)
The way you wear the blue cardigan the other way round is genius!
I love the idea of restyling old outfits. My style is definitely more classic so I always get stuck when it comes to shoes . I never know what to wear other than white sneakers to keep my outfits on the casual side.
Thanks Jess! Shoes has always been an area I've struggled with too - I think summer is easier as a strappy sandal/slide looks casual and classic. Whereas winter I tend to stick to sneakers/simple heeled boots (though this does dress up the look).
Lumiere d'Helen Thank you for always taking the time to reply to my comments and answer my questions! You’ve really made this a safe place for a lot of us to evolve style wise 💙
I highly suggest loafers, a pair of loafers that pretty minimal in design should suit a classic style when in a casual situation
LifeOnTheLedgerLines you know what, I hadn’t considered that. I’ll definitely look into it!
I switched to crop clothing a few months ago and I was buying any clothing -cropped- like crazy until I learn the simple trick from you to tuck in the cardigan. I have tons of cardigans which I seldom wore. I always thought cardigans had to be over the pants and wore mostly when I wear spaghetti straps dresses to cover. You learned me the elegant way of simple tuck in the cardigans. Since then my whole wardrobe is full of "cropped" stuff. Thank you so much. Also you colour palettes and ways of clothing makes me so excited about my wardrobe.
This is so lovely, thank you for sharing :) Sometimes just tucking/manoeuvring with a piece can make the biggest difference in my outfits and I'm glad it has for you too. Thank you for watching xx

Loving this series, and now I'm feeling inspired to start documenting my present-day outfits to see if I can not only improve my personal style, but someday look back and do the same! Thank you!
It's actually really interesting to see how style directly relates to our lifestyle/personal growth as well - for me, with every job change, lifestyle change, I can see it in how I dress and my outfits. I think it'll be a really fun thing to document it :) Thank you for watching x
What a great series! Inspires me to update my outfits with things I already have. I love your channel!
Thank you so much Renee! :) x
I found this channel yesterday and I'm watching everything! I love the ideas and the explanations, especially for the color combinations. My personal style is way more colorful but I'm about to start working and I want my style to evolve into something more proffesional, and I think this channel will help me a lot
That pink bag really was a mega boost to the outfit. It really made the look
Absolutely love this video concept! I hearing about your thoughts in the process of play in fashion
I think this is why it’s great to have a wardrobe of half beloved striking statement pieces with visual interest like patterns or unusual cuts, and half basics. Infinite matching possibilities, really, and keeps things feeling fresh without the need to buy new all the time.
Interesting about that black jacket. I always thought it looked like deconstructed Chanel. Very chic in a relaxed way.
A striking statement piece is my weakness. Though I'm learning that a balance is really important :) Thank you so much for watching! I hope this gave you some inspo for your wardrobe too xx
I’m trying to get more basics and it’s definitely helping me create more options!
I love your color combinations! Inspiring. Thank you.
Your videos are so informative and calming. It is absolutely soothing for me. I have been in pain all day and your videos are the only ones who calm me. ❤️❤️
Using an elastic band to push the sleeves up is such a good idea! I love your styling tips and unique color combinations (I especially love the brown and blue)! 😊
All these new outfit ideas are so fun!!
I love your styling tips! It's great to think of fun new ways to wear what you already have.
Absolutely, thank you Lira! Happy re-styling your wardobe xx
I absolutely love this video series idea of yours! It happens so often that an outfit i loved in the past no longer feels like my current style and often the pieces in those outfits get used less and less, I'm going to follow suit and challenge myself to reinvent some looks with my less worn pieces. Can wait for your future videos :)
Yay, so glad Anika! I hope you have fun with it xx
Love this type of video!! Thank you for the inspiration of looking through older outfits and updating them. ❤️👏🏼👍🏼😊
Thank you Claudia :) x
Really enjoy watching your styling videos and listening to you talk through the outfits!
Yay, so glad you enjoyed :) Thank you so so much!!
Going back to watch and rewatch all of your content! 🎉👍🏽
Man I love your videos. I'm always looking forward to your uploads.
Aw thank you so much!! This makes me so happy xx
I’ve never felt great in a one-size garment. It might work better in countries where there is less diversification of body sizes, but here in the US, it’s probably best to pass on these.
Completely understand as in Australia we're also used to having 5-6 sizes in a range to choose from. But for certain countries, since they do it like this, I imagine they've got a system that works which I'll love to better understand - e.g. potentially tailoring is more affordable/accessible.
I just felt like some of my items are too old and outdated... some really old items might be out of style but I can't replace everything! So this video helps! I buy way less clothes since COVID and I like that, I save money and I can just style things differently!
I get your video in my suggestions and I think I'll subscribe!
Thank you so much! :) Restyling is a great approach x
I've been really enjoying this series! I love seeing how style has evolved for you.
The one sized item seems insane to me. There's so many different bodies of different sizes and we're all beautiful, but being inclusive in any brand is so important to me when actually buying new for me. ( Not that I've bought anything new in the passed few years , simply new to me. ).
Thank you so much! :) One size is a foreign concept to me as well, however I think because it exists, there might be some system that works there e.g. potentially more affordable tailoring/brands that are more specialised. Not something I promote but I'll just love to understand it from a curiosity pov. Thanks again, have a lovely week x
Love your videos so helpful. 👏🏻💖
in outfit 2.. i love how you styled that skirt especially the first. it softens up teh structure of the skirt making it POP.
Yess. I believe in re-wearing your favsss, or finding new ways to fall in love with your old gems again.
Glad you feel the same way :) I get all excited when I figure out a new way to wear something x
Hi! I just found your channel and I'm loving it! Very helpful and relaxing 😍
I like this video and gives us hope that we will fall in love with our clothes again! Keep this kind of video going
Great continuation of “updating style without buying” video ❤️ would love to see part 3 hehe. My favorite change/update was what you did with black contrast stitching skirt. It looked so chic ❤️
Thank you :) I'm more than happy to continue this series! Really enjoyed restyling that piece as it's lovely but just wasn't getting enough wear.
Love the examples and explanations. Great video
Thank you so much :) x
Love the burgundy, pink and black together: great tip! Thank you!
Thank you Julie! So glad you like the colour combo xx
The cardigan trick was GENIUS 🤯!
Aw thanks Lauren! I think because brands like Sezane intentionally do buttons at the back, I figured why not try with the other cardigans I own :)
loved part of this and so excited to see part 2 of this :)
Oh I would love to share more :) thank you!! x
@@DailyHelenJ love your content :)
Love the series!! Need to update my style
Thank you!! :))))
Nice way to change style without spending! Love the grey sweatshirt with the green skirt! I don’t usually like blue & brown together but together with the beige/off white it looks good; taking this idea.
I live in Japan and find most boutique clothes here sells sizes M and L only; bigger stores like Uniqulo sells more sizes. Most Japanese runs around these sizes, if not smaller. So one size fits perfect for L or maybe LL (XL) then runs a bit oversized for M sized people. Bigger people will find shopping in Japan hard.
These videos are awesome -- thanks for the inspo! I'd love more like these :)
Thank you Sara! More than happy to film more of these :)) x
So so good! 👌
i love your light pink sweater 😍😍 i dont really fancy skirt but your skirt collection really makes me wanna buy some
This is great, I’ve often felt exasperated staring at my closet - lots of clothes I’ve changed my mind about, and some which maybe don’t fit anymore - as not only does style change but sometimes the body shape does too 😂. I have many items I don’t wish to part with so it’s nice to see how else to restyle them instead of leaving them aside like a hoarder… love the black midi button skirt with the figure-hugging top - elevates the look a lot!
Thank you so much! I completely understand what you mean, sometimes I have clothes hanging just doesn't seem to work anymore - but with some experimenting, it always ends up having a purpose - e.g. repurposing shirt as jacket, dress as skirt etc etc. Thank you again xx
i love your style 😍 your eye for great pieces is so amazing… wish I had that haha!! I’m in sweats or activewear all day. Love the video ❤️❤️
Aw thank you Jess! Don't worry same, I've been in activewear/sweats since lockdown 3 months ago ahaha. But excited to get back into real clothes! Have a lovely week x
@@DailyHelenJ hehe same here. Lockdown is finishing soon!! Time to revamp the wardrobe 😝
I love how you restyled your outfits! :)
Yay, thank you so much! x
I love your videos and it has helped me develop my own style as well.
Thank you so much :) so happy it's helped xx
I love this style of video!
Yay, thank you Kat! x
i wish i could do this but all my clothes were bought when i was into kawaii/lolita fashion and ultra feminine clothes, but now I've been much more into neutrals and wearig classic effortless pieces.
but i will try out wearing my sweaters backwards, that sounds fun
I used to live in Korea and found that while several street style stores only carry one size but many other stores and especially those in department stores sell a variety of sizes!
The low bun is beautiful hairstyle for you.
I just support u ,Never stop 👍💀
Your style ✨😍
Aw thank you!! :) x
I’m really enjoying your videos at the moment. I love that blue cardigan, where is it from?
Hi Helen love all your videos! Always look forward to your new ones..
May i know where you got the necklace in the video from?
Thank you ! :) the gold chain is a belcher chain with oval links from my local jeweller. Most jewellery stores should sell this style :) Thanks again for watching x
Helen is the best . 🥰
You are too kind!! Thank you so much for watching x
Really enjoyed this styling video. I'm getting into dresses more lately and I really like the examples you show with long skirts and dresses especially this time around. About the free size thing I'm not really sure actually. I live in Japan but I don't really shop at Japanese brands since the sizes are too small for me(I do buy shirts from Uniqlo sometimes and they tend to have more sizes). It could be that people get them tailored for fit though. The dry cleaners near my place also does alterations and stuff and I've seen a few places around like that. The other thing is that most people do wear quite loose styles where I live so maybe having a free size is more conducive to that too? I'm just making guesses tbh here haha.
Thank you so much for sharing - potentially the loose styles helps the sizing thing a little. I absolutely love Japan and cannot wait to be there again one day :) Have a lovely week x
Yea I think so! Although if it’s free size and a tight fit I’m not sure. Maybe only a few ppl can buy those items 🤷🏾♀️.
I hope you can get to visit Japan again! I live in Kyoto and I definitely recommend Kyoto or if you love art then going to Teshima etc is also a great option!
I hope you enjoy the rest of your week too x
Great video! I was wondering if you also have the SW lowland boots? If you do, would you be able to make a video about them? Thanks!
A great boot, but not one I've tried :) x
I could never feel good in a baggy, gray sweatshirt, that’s the kind of thing I avoid, trendy or not. I avoided buying those sweatsuits during the pandemic. Yes, they’re comfy, but I knew I wouldn’t feel good in them as street/day clothes.
Totally understandable! I go between loving and hating them but recently in lockdown they've been a lifesaver :)
Wish you could come and shop my wardrobe !! You really have the eye
Aw thank you so much Kat!! :)
♥️
👍👍❤️
cropped cardigan as sweater, smart! :)
Thank you lovely!! x
I would also love to know how the one-size system works in Asia. I know tailoring can be cheaper there
Absolutely, can see that being a potential way to make the free size thing work in certain countries. Thanks for watching Joy!
Hi Joy! I'm from Indonesia where many local brands use one-size system, so I have to tailor my clothes every now and then. I think it works but the extra spending for the tailor can feel quite like a pinch 😆
Can you also do legging outfits. Curious to see how you would wear them.
Hi :) I tend to not wear leggings except for working out etc. I generally tend to reach for looser fits which I feel more comfortable in. Thanks so much for watching x
You have an interesting accent! May I know your nationality?! (Just Curious!)
Your past is my future(hopefully)😅
I think the fantastic thing is that everyone evolves and looks back and realises how much their style/taste/lifestyle has changed :) Hope you find a style you love xx
I dont understand the trend of flipping the shirt/blouse/cardigan. It just looks forced, tacky, trendy, not classy. I guess it just doesnt go with me.
Not every style will be for everyone and that's perfectly ok. Imagine if we all dressed the same and liked the same things, it would be very dull.
