- Novec 1230 fluid, (also known as "Dry Water" and "Waterless Water"), is an environmentally friendly Halon replacement for gaseous fire suppression manufactured by 3M. It is generally used in situations where water from a fire sprinkler would damage expensive equipment or where water-based fire protection is impractical, such as museums, banks, clean rooms and hospitals . 3M™ Novec™ 1230 fluid does not deplete ozone (ODP 0) and has an atmospheric lifetime of 5 days and a GWP of 1.It is also known as "SEVO 1230" by SEVO Systems, Inc. Chemically, it is a fluorinated ketone with the systematic name 1,1,1,2,2,4,5,5,5-nonafluoro-4-(trifluoromethyl)-3-pentanone and the structural formula CF3CF2C(=O)CF(CF3)2, a fully fluorinated analog of ethyl isopropyl ketone.
It's absoulutely safe for health and nature.
and just to add, the novec discharge time is 10 sec at maximum. Meaning fire extinguished extremly fast and effective... water mist will damage your equipment, meaning you cant use it for art galleries, server room, archives etc etc... I've seen this stuff working, I have sertificate for working with it and trust me, it's the most effective and friendly solution.. not so cheap tho.
I want some of that in my fridge
So will the vaporized Novec asphyxiate you if you're trapped in a room when it goes off like Halon suppression systems? Is it heavier than air?
so its the same enviromental impact as Co2?
What will happen if this gas will contact with air humidity? What kind of acid will be generated and how harmful it is for birthing?
yes you can drink that,, and nothing will hapeen,,, it is one of the most clean agent i have seen one guy drinking that liquid
