Hey Victor, you can feel free to keep those cottage cheese recipes coming, because I always have a bunch of it in the house. 👍🏻😄 This looks wonderful, & I’ve been wanting to make it ever since you topped “whatever it’s called” in your ice cream video. 😂 And I’m shocked, but I all ready have the psyllium husk powder-Yay! Cocoa Crumble Cottage Pie is the exact name I thought of, but someone beat me to telling you! 🤷🏻♀️ (when you snooze, you lose!LOL) Whatever you do officially name it, I’m excited to make it this weekend! 😊
Well, I've been experimenting with making all kinds of stuff with it, so chances are good 😁 Sounds like that needs to be the official name for it 😁 I hope you enjoy it!
I totally loved all these cottage cheese recipes. I think cottage cheese is a great healthy ingredient and it is so versatile, you can't make too many cottage cheese recipies for me.❤❤
A dessert with, (by my calculation) only 5 net carbs for 1/8 of pie AND an amazing 14 grams of protein and 6 grams of fat. Your mileage may vary depending on ingredients used. Such an awesome recipe. In the oven now.😊
Here's a trick to make a perfect parchment liner. Fold the paper into 8ths. Turn your pie dish upside down. Lay your paper over the dish centering the point. Then mark and cut the paper to size. Perfect every time.
Yes thanks for the help. Also I would recommend everyone use the salad spinning, my cottage cheese had a little liquid in the container but when I spuned it in the salad spinner wow alot of liquid. Thank you again for the help
I am back for the last time on this video. I made this pie again (using ricotta) but unlike the first time, I remembered to keep half of the chocolate mixture to add to the top. The first time, I combined everything. I did use Dutch chocolate rather than a lesser powdered chocolate, no Hersey's here in Ecuador. Both my husband and I said there basically was no difference in taste between the flub mixing everything as opposed to holding back a portion for the topping. The major difference was in visual appeal. Your method is definitely more attractive. My experiments are complete; I now have a great dessert in my files.
Hey! Come back as much as you want 😁 I really appreciate you experimenting with this so that I can help people that don't have access to cottage cheese. Yes, just think it looks better myself. I'm so glad it worked great with the ricotta and now you should try my cake recipe with the ricotta. To me, it's even better 😁
Looks great! You can use the leftover liquid in smoothies, scrambled eggs, quiches or omelettes. When I have to drain yogurt or cottage cheese, I try to plan to fix something I can use the leftover in.
Just hopping on from the UK to say a big thank you for all your hard work! This looks delicious, and I even have cottage cheese! (I'll have to make a half batch, not enough cottage cheese in the fridge...lol)
Hello Victor Made your cottage cheese pie and it is awesome my goodness. I added 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract to the filling, I think it was delicious to add it in. Could I add some peanut butter to the filling? If so any idea how much? Thank you and your recipes never disappoint 😊
Hey! 👋🏻 Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed it! I think peanut butter powder would be better, texture wise. Maybe 1/4 cup? Not sure They peanut butter would work without adding some additional liquid. I'd also get a wetter cottage cheese if you use the peanut butter powder. Hope that helps 😁
Cottage cheese... i loved it before keto...and lots have been riding the wave of "higher protein" by using cottage cheese in so many new ways just like they did cauliflower. i dont mind it, personally. my son works for Daisy brand, so we always like to support local. (their world HQ is 20 min from me, same as the world HQ for smuckers which also does jif, folgers and meow mix lol) i look forward to more...how about a cottage cheese cheese cake? or some muffins?
I really hated it, because back in the day when I was doing personal training I used to try to choke it down by the pound to get extra protein. I couldn't even look at it again for many many years 🤣 Now, I enjoy messing with it as an ingredient. I'm working on of those 2 now 😁
You can get pressed cottage cheese that is as dry as your spun version. It’s Polish style. called Twaróg. Protein count is 27 grams per 125 gram serving.😊
Thank you! I have never heard of that. Pretty sure our grocery stores around here don't have it, but I will check next time I'm in the bigger town over. ours are the same old ones you would expect
@@southernketoTwaróg comes in a shrink wrapped block, not a tub. I would expect Wegman’s to have it or any ethnic Eastern European grocer. I made this pie today with about half cottage cheese and half Twaróg. It was kinda dry so I added enough full fat whipping cream to soften it up a bit. I used the full amount of psyllium. The Husband didn’t like the jelly texture of the finished pie but I love it. More for me!
I'm totally guessing, but I think it would come out maybe even a little better, because of the higher fat content. I would definitely make sure it's the same consistency as the cottage cheese that I showed in the video. Again, I'm totally guessing because there's a lot more fat in ricotta, but I think the psyllium might help absorb a lot of it and give it the correct texture. Please let me know if you experiment and how it comes out 😁
That would probably work if you cut the psyllium in half and added some protein powder. Or just add vanilla extract to that part of it, maybe 2 teaspoons?
What was the butter for in your video ingredients? It is not listed and you didn't use it in the video. I don't like cottage cheese, but i have made a couple other things that i couldn't taste it, so i will give this a try. It is really pretty looking!
Thanks, I fixed it. It's just too grease the parchment paper in case you don't want to use cooking spray.. Some people hate the spray 🤷🏻♂️ I don't like it either, but I love it as an ingredient 😁 Buckle up! There's more coming 🤣

Thanks! Well, it's mostly carnivore carnivore... Well, other than the sweetener and psyllium. Oh, and the cocoa . Actually, it's not. Well, the cottage cheese is, at least. 🤣
I found huge containers of cottage cheese at Gordon Foods if you have one close to you, think it comes in 5 pound containers. I love Cottage Cheese, could eat it all by itself!
just keep an eye on the ingredients, some have starches and such in them (for no reason imho) if you need to mind what you put in your mouth (im T2 so lots of things affect me)
No, the butter would go instead of the spray. I just didn't like it as good as the spray. I'm going to try to edit that part out. Then, if someone wanted to grease it with butter, they could just replace it
You could actually add it to the cocoa crumble and it would be delicious. I was just trying to help out people that don't like to use spray, but I think it's better to use spray after trying both..
I think too, it depends on the cottage cheese. It seems to kind of a little differently depending on brands. If it's too gluey ( I think it's a word... seems like one 😂), you can definitely cut it in half. It's just for a crusty feel
I always recommend that you use an app like carb manager or something similar so you can put in your exact ingredients and brands that you're using because it can vary so much
I didn't drain the liquid out of it... I added it back in. I was just showing that In case people had some that was super wet. Walmart cottage cheese is bad about that...
