    Great vid, great knife too. I had no idea how amazing a handle that is black with thick white liners would be until your vid. That is classy and beautiful.

    Oh man! You’ve already made me buy a Bark River JX6. It hasn’t even arrived yet and now I have to get one of these, too. RUclips is expensive. Great review.

    Literally got the same exact knife as yours. 3v Black g10 with thick white liners on saber grind. Love it.
    I️ have a 3v spearpoint forest trail in scandi which is like the big brother.
    Amazing blades. Thanks for the review.

    Lol....you did talk me into it. Ordered it the next day and got it a week ago. 3v in saber grind. Have been a big LT fan for a few years. This is now my new go bag blade. Great all purpose type blade that can handle many knife tasks

    I like how the edge extends past the handle so you can cut on a flat surface

    Bushcrafter 162 seems similar in blade, drop point instead of spear but the high saber grind makes it a strong slicey blade. Well done Cedric

    • @CedricAda
      @CedricAda  7 лет назад

      oh hey it does have a heaps similar blade. I've been meaning to try the 162 - I like the looks of the handle color and design

    • @Outcaste153
      @Outcaste153 7 лет назад

      Cedric & Ada Gear and Outdoors I love my 162 its my go to knife. I will warn you the handle is a bit boxy and it has a large swell in the handle which works out great for me my hand gets fatigued with most other knives as I can only use 3 and the thumb for griping my pinky doesn't work due to injury when I was younger. with other knives I have to use a piece of scrap leather to ad grip and swell out the handle.

    I've paired the Small Northern Hunter aeb-l flat grind with a GNS 01 Scandi and it seems pretty super . The Small Northern Hunter is soo nice in hand and otherwise I'd to get another for EDC but also a Large Northern Hunter just because the small one is soo good I'm needing to find out what I've missed with the large . Their products seem well refined and I'm very impressed . Dude ........ that onion money shot !

    I do like that knife. If I didn't already have a Cudeman MT-5, I'd be tempted. Sadly, I only have a finite amount of room on my belt to hang things, and nowhere at home to safely store or display more knives.

    Just got this one in scandi from dlt trading, the handle is unbelieveable, beats any bark river in ergos in my opinion, came sharp as a razor! also sharper then any bark river ever came.

    Nice review of a fabulous knife. I’ve got 3 lt wright knives and am trying to resist getting another. Sure they cost more, but I get a small thrill every time I use one. Not the same with a Chinese knife, although they work ok. Many people would be happier with one lt than a drawer full of cheaper choices.

    Ok so my question is how does the LT Wright CPM 3V match up to Cold Steel CPM 3V and the Bark River CPM 3V?

    • @wrjames38
      @wrjames38 6 лет назад +1

      LT wright can be trusted that the material is DEFINITELY 3V....not so much Bark River ..if your to believe the Internet. Just saying.
      Cold Steel does a great job with 3V IMHO (have the master, pendleton, and SRK in 3V)

    Nice, I was just looking at these yesterday, but I've already got a GNS and the Outback is too similar. I'm getting mighty tempted by those Frontier Firsts DLT just got in tho.
    How do you like the Outback compared to your old Genesis?

    • @CedricAda

      subroc genesis always felt a bit more 'woodcarving focussed' rather than a do all camp blade. This is in the S1 / T5 / Master Hunter 'general use' vibe

    Did LTW ever make a GNS with a hollow grind? A buddy of mine recently bought a large lot of camping/sporting goods and there is a knife in there with LT Wright's tang mark but it's got what looks like a factory hollow grind. Not sure if he ended up with a fake or if it's a really unusual custom version.

    • @chrisp1598
      @chrisp1598 29 дней назад

      I know early on (Pre Blind Horse), LT did a fair bit of hollow ground hunting knives. But I’m not sure if he was still doing hollow ground by the time they designed the Self Reliant (aka GNS).

  • @Airik1111bibles
    @Airik1111bibles 7 лет назад +4

    Thats a nice knife ....pretty spendy though, gotta have front row seat funds for that one, my knife budget keeps me in the nose bleed section😁
    Have you seen the new $49 SRK ? They took away the crazy inch of wasted space made it a slight convex grind with the same steel as the Hultifors HD. Its a definite competitor with Gerber's Strongarm now and the SCHF 42, Gidionstactical reviewed it the other day.

    • @wrjames38
      @wrjames38 6 лет назад +2

      The SK5 version of the SRK is amazing for 40 bucks on Amazon (day to day) . I have that, the VG1 , and the 3V also...best bang for your buck going IMHO.

    • @jasonallenwise

      It's branded as Hultafors but is made by Mora. It's a copy of their 511 basic. You can find them around under the Hultafors name or just by a Mora. Either way, they should be $15 or less. Amazon is a good spot.

    Just found your channel today and I really like your reviews! Watched a lot of DBK for a while but they just get a little more ridiculous with each new video. But hey that's just me. Anyways keep up the good work you're doing great!
    Oh and if you're in the market I'd like to recommend a fairly new brand for you to try. Hyken Knives. CPM-154 blade, scandivex grind, and really sweet handle ergos. Got mine from knives ship free. I think they should still have some of the first run left. And Bark River is building them for Reid Hyken so you know it's a good knife.

      I think DLT carries these as well.

    • @rodrigoteresa7944
      @rodrigoteresa7944 7 лет назад +1

      JiG Ls That's the best part of DBK. I'm always weirded out when I see their old vids and they're so damn serious.

    • @jasl7358
      @jasl7358 7 лет назад +2

      Like I said, that's just me. I liked it for a while, but lately it seems to me that they are concentrating way more on their acting than the knife they are reviewing. I guess it's okay if you're looking for a comedy routine, but if I'm looking at possibly spending a lot of money on a new knife I prefer something a little more serious.

    • @CedricAda
      @CedricAda  7 лет назад +1

      DBK are having fun. Theres so many serious channels that I think theres definitely room! I try and walk the line a little closer to the middle though! I'll check out that knife - DLT have a good shipping service to Australia so happy to use them more.

    • @jasl7358
      @jasl7358 7 лет назад +3

      I know you're right. And I do still watch DBK. Maybe I'm forgetting forgetting that having fun is what's most important! Hey I'm starting to get old what can I say. Now to this knife. I really, really want a LT Wright. And I also really, really want a Lon Humphrey. Too many decisions lol. Maybe I'll flip a coin.
