This is my first time to your channel. I am now a subscriber after this video!! Im sitting in my garden harvesting lettuce and arugula watching your video😁 Life is good!!! I never had success growing this before especially from a seed but prayer changes things friend, now I have so much I am on overload!!! This is an amazing tips!! Thanks for sharing!! Take Care, God Bless
So with these romaine lettuces I harvested them completely at the base of the stem. Certain lettuces tho you can cut off the top section of the plant and it will grow back. They call those “cut and come again” varieties. Some lettuces you can just harvest the more mature leaves and let them keep growing new leaves. But don’t harvest all the leaves off a lettuce plant or it will stunt it. The plant still needs some leaves for photosynthesis
I liked everything about the video but I wanted to let you know that the volume of the in between music is a bit startling, its very loud in comparison to the talking parts
Um you WASTED lettuce! CUT THE LEAVES OFF WITH SCISSORS it’ll GROW BACK for more harvest. Leave stem in ground, but don’t cut at the solid! It’ll grow back lol
Interesting. Never thought to use that
It works incredibly well
I remember on my families farm in canada we spun the greens in a big towel in the garden
That’s awesome! There are so many ways to do it!

Very nice!! I would like to know, the way you harvested the lettuce, will it grow back for another harvest?

The lettuce is always soggy after I put it in the ice water then into the spinner. Any tips?
How do you prep lacinto/dinosaur kale?
Our process is a bit different now. We grow kale in the greenhouse so we don’t wash it because it’s super clean
I do not wash until ready to eat.

Yea this was one of my early videos and my video editing wasn’t the best at the time. Sorry about that
….and all the while I’ve been thinking a little moisture/water was good for stored lettuce.
Well some moisture is good but I’ve found keeping things on the dryer side has kept greens the longest vs allowing moisture to build up

lol very true. I find second cut to not be near as good tho
