How in the hell did you get your cover out so easily??? Mine is caught under the metal of the cavity frame in the front and under the hvac in the rear. I see no other way other than to get a big pry bar and hope the plastic flexes 😡 Been at this for about 40 minutes now
Why why why under the front seat. My bettle's was under the rear seat very easily accessible. Yes closer to the engine. But 3 more feet of cable!! Vs hours extra in labor to replace it under the front seat. Yes
The reason for battery acid Is that there is a vent on these batteries on the sides. There was a vent tube at the front that goes outside that appears to have disappeared.

Older T1 models also have a gas tube to take away any off gas away from the seat area to the exterior underside of the vehicle.

I'm guessing adaptation is needed when you replace the battery with another type or AH rating. I'll find out in a few days!

This battery and the previous one did not have a provision for a vent tube.
