ℹ Automatic level crossing on the minor road leading from the populated area of Toton to the Attenborough nature reserve and nature centre: it's a massive and beautiful place so I highly recommend visiting it! This crossing is equipped with quiet E2S alarms, alongside its SPX Rail Systems barriers from 2009 and LED lights. Attenborough station and its adjacent level crossing are about half a kilometre to the northeast from here.
In this video, we see a Class 170 heading towards Leicester on a local stopping passenger service. It had stopped at Attenborough before passing this crossing, so the barriers were down for longer than usual. Why there isn't a distinction in the system for stopping and passing trains I don't know.
