- Remember this video earlier this year - • TurboDirect S.A - big ... -- well here is part2 - im sure you will be excited with the progress thus far. We steaming ahead and looking to release these turbochargers (yes we have a range of them coming out) by the end of 2021 - look out for the next video which im sure you will love when we assemble a test unit and test it on a test rig.

Yes two sizes actually - first the 62mm inducer turbine and a 60-62mm inducer compressor.

Wow wow wow Chris, I'm seeing this so late but just in time. I used to be stallion fan , I bought a few turbo chargers from them . But after seeing this you have won me over!! I'm actually in the market for a more powerful K04 for my edition 35.
Hi Sahiel - thanks for the compliment - this will help you sort out your Edition35 - there is no bolt on turbo that makes more power and offers the same low down response as this turbo - contact Yosh from DarkArts for your tuning requirements on this turbo.

This is so exciting. I cannot wait to see the final product. Not a Garrett or whatever else derivative but a truly genuine design that promises fantastic performance.

@@TurboDirectSA It's a bold step that I wish it would pay you back. People should realize that 90% of the manufacturers around started (and most of them still are) by making copies of Garrett and Mitsubishi, and by moving into evolutionary (if they are really an evolution is open to debate) derivatives was considered by themselves a big step.

Good job chris,i would assume that with all the major brands of turbo you sell, you have found various flaws that can be improved , hence the birth of your turbo...
Spot on - being a Garrett distributor for almost 20 years, we not only move boxes, but we upgrade, repair and do forensic analysis on the Garrett range of turbos, and what we see, learn and experience is what has driven us to our own design.
This looks fantastically promising. Looking forward to seeing the design og size og the turbine heads and compressor wheels. Dare I guess splitter blade design?
Thanks Finn. No sir will be a low number multi blade design. We decided not to re-invent the wheel here (punn intended) but try and improve somewhat on it. Software simulation is very tricky, but once you learn how, it helps you play with endless values, dimensions, shapes etc. We feel we onto something that will yield a positive result. Lets see in about a month or so' time.

Do you have plans of making twinscroll IWG turbine housings maybe?
Great question, we dont, the reason being that v-band is so much easier to install, less hassle however in the future we will definitely develop twin scroll housings. There is a definite gain to be had using them so we cannot ignore that.
Definitely looking forward. I hope to see new turbine wheel technology designs.

@@TurboDirectSA I assume the turbine will have a completely new blade design and nothing like the garrett I assume? Will the turbine material will be 713c inconel or something else? Other than BW I see very similar turbine blade design and same materials used which is a hasn't changed much in the last 10-20 years.
@@Tkz9000 Yes design is similar, but dimensions and a few other angles will be changed. They will not be interchangeable with any other turbine. Not even the bearing cartridge is compatible with any other brand. Material will be Inconel for now, but MarM-247 at a later date. Garrett designs are antiquated, and you are correct they have not changed much, even the newer G-series have not changed much - no real ground breaking design updates at all. The materials are stable and work exceptionally well, so not much needs to change really- BorgWarner are the true leaders here with their GAMMA TI -
@@TurboDirectSA Gamma Ti is tricky but done right it an awesome light turbine wheel compared to inconel in the same size. There are some cons as it's not as tough and ductile as inconel or mar M especially against foreign object damage. I was wondering would a slightly smaller turbine hub help with reducing weight while making the blades longer would be something you may consider designing for your wheels?
I hate garrett turbine wheels. All they do is take a blade out or make the angle less steep which has that clipped turbine blade effect. Taking a blade out helps with top end but sacrifices spoolup. I'm not a fan of some garretts turbine and compressor wheel matching. Sometimes the compressor wheel is too big for the turbine. G25-660 IMO is good example of turbine wheel too small for the compressor. The g30-660 is better matched.
@@Tkz9000 Only BorgWarner have got the Gamma TI wheel right - besides the low mass, the solid back disc design is brilliant and utilises a somewhat mixed flow result which is the only performance turbo on the market which does this.
I wont be able to give you too much info about the wheel design we have chosen for obvious reasons, but it is similar (but not exact) to something you have seen before.
Any chance to get Compressor and turbine map gas stand info on any of your bespoke turbochargers?
I don't buy turbos based on a HP range.

low down - not yet. Once the product is launched end of this year, and tested, we will post the videos on the tests and then we will release for sale.
Any dealers stateside ??
We have some end user customers who have been buying product from us for years, but we are in the process of setting up dealerships geographically. More to come on this in the future.
