Well, all we can say are BUTTER SWEATS are a THING. Since we typically disregard instructions ANYWAYS, we thought why not just go for it and try to bake a cake without a recipe. All things considered, this was a HUGE success and truly so much fun. Joslyn will be purchasing a set of mixing bowls for Lily so her one pot can stop serving double duty. We highly recommend creating your own sugar butter, but do be careful because too much will lead to a headache and sick stomach. Should we take this success and run with it and attempt more cooking in the kitchen with NO RULES?! Leave your culinary requests in the comments, and share this butter cake recipe with a friend.

Right?? Fiona shouldve read the recipe through and through first. Usually gotta cream sugar and rook temp butter together then add eggs and extract before even adding dry mixtures

As a baker, this is very stressful
As an avid baker, this was fairly painful to watch. Baking is literally math and science. Cooking can be a little more free flowing
It's funny that their comparing it to a specific recipe when different recipes have different ratios of ingredients and sometimes have different ingredients, some have milk some don't, some have water some don't and so on

Wholemeal flour needs to be sifted but plain flour does not require that.Joslyn and Lily you guys make such a dynamic cooking duo. You should try making such as bread, pizza, baked macaroni and cheese, baked lasagna, sheperds pie, vegetable pasta bake, cinnamon rolls, pies, swiss rolls, biscuits, coconut balls, brownies and many other things. It would be really fun for you guys to do other things without instructions such as sewing and designing clothes, building things such as toys and appliances, drawing and learning to dance. I would love for this series without instructions to be with teams of people competing in fun challenges against each other such as with Lisa, Renee, Meghan,Fiona and other special guests. ☺❤

I use recipes for cake but not for frosting I take the butter and whip it with vanilla, then slowly add the powdered sugar and then I slowly add a bit of cream or milk. I go by texture not by recipe lol. But yes any baking cookies or cake you cream the butter and sugar together mix all wet ingredients then add dry
Clearly they should not ignore Lily's ideas. Apple pie from scratch would be great. Also, a journey to the grocery store to guess the ingredients would be fun. Or how about a follow-up to the thrift store for "Best Friends Dress Each Other for a Week from Goodwill."

If you bake a cake. Always start with eggs, butter, and sugar then add the rest. Doing great for not bake very often. I still don’t have luck all the time after baking for awhile.

Oh my god YES you DO need to sift flour! You sift to get an accurate measure. Sift then spoon into measuring cup, never pack flour!

Her veterinarian could have recommended it. I always tell clients to listen to their vet as they know their dogs the best. You can never go wrong listening to someone with 8 years of intense schooling in veterinary medicine ☺️ if not, maybe her dogs likes it and it’s one of the few brands he eats😂

You need to be more positive when baking the happier and more relaxed you are the better it will taste. I literally dont allow myself to be mad or be negative when baking for my bakery. I literally put on disney and sing along and I think of how sweet my husband is and it makes the food taste better. I also am horrible at following written recipes I go with my heart which means noone can make cookies brownies or cakes like me lmao
