Great video. I just tried the dupical + Me Laiton 10% and I agree with you that it comes across like a white sandalwood note to me. In fact it reminds me very much of Affinessence's Santal Basmati. The sandalwood note is very similar to this accord. I'd love to see more, Sam!
Hi! Would be great if you could do a "By The Fireplace " Style perfume. It Would be great to understand the proportions and how to apply smokey notes in perfumery. I just orderes Valspice 4 Methyl Guaiacol, and I want to use it in many perfumes with this style.
Hi Sam! I just received a few of your precious raw materials! Oh my goodness 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 All of them are just wonderful, top quality, and beautifully packaged. Thank you so much!!!! Next step- buy your perfumes!!😁 😊 💚
Glad to see your starter sets are sold out (and back in stock soon) Looks like your hard work is paying off! Would you ever consider doing micro starter sets like 1 G of each? Would that be cost/ time prohibitive for you or? I live in Canada and shipping can be a pain if you don't know what you're ordering. I would love to see a video where you go over not just what common materials are used, but what *quantities* of what common materials are used. (So you're more likely to get everything you need on the first order) You could do a video series with a 'starter kit' in a few different styles? Anyways, that's just my feedback, sorry if I'm repeating and you've already addressed this. Cheers
Thanks! The out of stock wasn’t due to being sold out, rather the partner company being closed for Christmas. Yes I have considered 1g starter kits but you’re right; the problem is it’s not much cheaper than 10g after you run the numbers since it’s mostly labour cost. And yes I’m considering changing the quantities in V2. Starter kits in different styles could be cool for the future, although for now I want to focus on a core one.
@@sammacer thank you for replying. Shipping can be expensive. Perhaps you could make a list of ingredients you should get *more* than 10 G of? (It would be annoying to run out of something you could have just paid an extra 20 bucks for if shipping is $80) I think this anxiety stops a lot of people from making their first purchase.. Perhaps that is a sign that I need to study more and if I'm not educated enough to make my first purchase, I probably shouldn't? I respect the process, your feedback is appreciated, from my perspective I would love to see a video of you going over which ingredients you should get more of to avoid having to repurchase right away, or a starter set with this in consideration. Cheers from Canada
I believe, that a coconut accord could be done by blending Methyl Laitone, Aldehyde C18 and Heliotropin, maybe also some Coumarin and Vanillin could be useful.
Thanks, Sam!! Adding a Third material that would work with all the rest would be nice so you could construct an accord combo you liked. I purchased my 54th formula from Creative Formulas and am making a spreadsheet of similar materials to learn how to construct an amazing fragrance. That's the goal anyway! Cheers!
A crayon accord you say... 🤔 I found that some of that smell actually came from the paper label wrapped around the crayon so it fits! Great vid Sam. Definitely would love to see the other combos!!
If you havent already done one, i would love a video about all the legal aspects of seeling perfumes, the process and the latest legal maximum procentages of different common ingredients and essential oils, it gets confusing after some time and the ifra ammendments are damn annoying, also i was thinking about how much premade bases you can add without getting over the limits since you dont know what s in them and at what procentages etc, it s very useful info for beginers plus i have a big dilemma on one fragrance oil that i adore and i cant find a replcement for no matter what i try and id love using just that one but since you dont know what s in it or how much, how would i be able to use it safely and would it even get aproved (i know they are not good but i literally am in love with that one and i dont know what to do), just stuff like that
Great video as always I definitely always been in love with molecules scents and lately been been into Galaxolide and was wondering where someone might find/ purchase Galaxolide super and ambrostar I have regular Galaxolide and Ambroxan but can’t find the newest versions of those in the raw form unless they are under some other name. Once again thank you for your videos always learning 💥🔥💪
I'm thinking kephalis + dupical probably smells like sun-scorched grass on a hot summer day that was freshly mowed up along with some gardenia flowers, but I haven't tried it yet.
Hekserij is the main one I know of in the EU. Not sure what shipping is like for you from the UK, but Pell Wall is the big UK shop, and of course Sam's own Fragrance Foundry
Hello Sam, amazing i finally have in my hand some ficus carica absolute. Cost for production is really high and extraction is very laborious, anyway it is funny to use. It is prohibited to use, true?
I am reading the book Perfume by Jean Claude Ellena and he mentions a software that helps in the formulation process, do you know what that software is?
I have a question, why do perfumers look unhealthy, sometimes sleepy and kind of darkish under their eyes, I'm new into the industry but I'm concerned about the health risks
Don’t worry it’s not that 💀 dangerous 😂. It could be if you’re not safe but I think what you’re seeing is hard work. This is Sam’s business so it’s late nights every night. At the very least that’s what I suspect that trend is.
@@letsgetitgaming3812 yeah possibly but what raised my concern is that perfumery and perfumes is the least tested and watched product for endocrine disruptors and no one knows what materials put into it
I love how light and humorous yet super educational your videos are
Thanks
Your content is so refreshing
Thank you
Kephalis - mid note that’s perfect for sandalwood related formulas along with javanol and ebanol. Thanks for the vid mate.
No worries!
Enjoyed it very much! I'd love to hear more of your descriptions of their synergies!
I’d like to see you do more of these. I’m gonna try a few of them. I’m actually putting together a list for more raw materials.
Will do
do it, make a second video about that, I did just get a lot givaudan materials this week. so its super cool watching this.
I will soon
Really really interesting, thank you Sam!
Thanks!

Cool - yeah I’ll have to experiment some more with that one sometime
I do not just like your videos, I love them bro 🤩🙏🏼
Fantastic news
This is such a great vid! So many great insights.
Glad you enjoyed it

Valspice is present in By The Fire Place, but only at 0.005% of the formula. It isn't the basis of that fragrance.
I don’t know anything about that perfume
Keep at it vids like these are helpful
Thanks, will do!
Hey Sam, I love youre videos you are always a huge inspiration to me please continue doing what you do
Thank you! Will do!

Yes for sure
Thank you, that's cool

That sounds spot on to me, not so sure about heliotropin but then again I haven’t tried it so maybe you’re right

Wow that’s a lot of formulas, sounds like a great project!
Amazing channel and info. Thank you
Can you make a video about oriental accords

Oh really? That’s interesting
Please do the other synergy accords
Will do
Thanks Sam. Ultrazur is a base that is similar in character (but not identical in aroma) to Scentenal, if that helps your next video
Thanks - I do have some scentenal. I’d probably rather wait until I have the correct thing though.
Great work
Thank you
Kephalis is definitly one of my favorits but it tempts to get a peelike smell in wrong combination
We are waiting second part, please
Will do
Sounds like a Vanilla Wood flanker is coming up! ;)
Haha well maybe ;)

Any ideas regarding a good chemical to replace dupical?
You could try any lily of the valley note
Can someone help me whe is good palce to order good quality ingredients for perfumery beginner in eu?

I order a lot from perfumiarz, from Poland I believe. He almost always give also some samples with the order, and the shipping fees are pretty good.

do you make perfumes with EOs?
Where can we find that pdf?

Hi is it possible to get a link to the pdf?
Annoyingly I forgot where I came across it, it was a while ago
Also, Is it possible to make an amber accord with Labdanum Clear and Vanillin? or that type of Labdanum too strong for this types of accords?
That’s absolutely fine
One question, do you ship the oils to Mexico?
No unfortunately
