Wikipedia says dragonforce was dragonheart and became dragonforce before dragonheart existed which would kinda imply dragonforce inspired THAT band dragonheart lol.
The line in the newer version "we feel the firepower of the nightwarrior" sounds a lot less like being on a battlefield, and a lot more like an advertisement for a new type of battle droid. Kinda cringey compared to the old version imo.
It's likely at least partly due to the far superior dynamic range on this one. All of the instruments, while sounding rougher and lower quality, also sound much more distinct. The drums cut through the mix in a more organic way, and it's less produced overall, making the whole thing sound more organic.

This version sounds great. Definitely more traditional power metal, like Stratovarious. That being said, I do still like the final album version better. It sounds much more refined to me. That's just me though.
I lovethis version, BUT I LOVE THE ALBUM VERSIONS LYRICS "We fight the battle on the field toniiiight." Without that part in this one it feels like somethings missing. But I haven't finished maybe it's at the end 🤞

Oh my, I remember this was how this song sounded when I first heard it back in 2006. I didn't know it was their demo version. The Dragonforce one is great but this version is sooooo much better IMO. The chorus melody is beautiful. The solos are better too. (Slight differences and tone.) I like how they didn't add whammy stuff before the chorus in this one. (At least for this version) Also, Herman's part at the end of the main soloing section is cooler too. Definitely in my top ten Dragonforce songs!! Thanks so much for uploading this!! :)

I don't think it sounds autotuned, because there are little places where his voice barely reaches the right note. I guess it's just the timbre, the tone, sounds odd, maybe because he was using other region of his voice to sing. He was young, maybe inexperient singer, probably because of that, his voice got wasted so quickly. The using of incorrect singing techniques has doomed so many voices over the time... But I can be wrong.

Always found it funny how depressed the lyrics are and how happy go lucky the music is.
Kind of like the Offspring singing about getting cheated on yet the song is upbeat.
