Hi mam, I had short cervix. So doctor suggested cervical cerclage and I underwent for cerclage 15 days back. Now iam 16 weeks of pregnant. “Accumulation of fluid” in head - my ultrasound doctor said there is a spot of fluid in my baby’s brain, but he then also said that would go away. If it does not go away, still no worry.
I don’t understand what does that mean? Should I be concerned? I’m 22 weeks now, the ultrasound test was done 21 week. Should I ask for another ultrasound soon to see if the fluid goes away? (They schedule me another one in 28week, would that be too late?)
I’m very concerned. Also, should I do a “Amniocentesis” due to this observation? (My DNA test of genetics showed negative.)

Hello Vijaya Laxmi , sometimes doctor might not see some of the organs clearly due to excess fat but they will suggest the repeat scan after some time. So nothing to worry.

Hello dear , anomaly scan detects anatomical defects . Amniocentesis detects genetic abnormalities. If amniocentesis is normal then it’s a positive sign to continue pregnancy

During Anomaly scan on May it was 11mm... and on last scan on June it was 13-14mm

Hello dear , it’s very rare to see any cardiac issues coming to 32 weeks . If it was there then it should have detected very early so go for Echo to clear your concern once . Stay calm as there won’t be any major issue

Hello Shubhangi , if the spine is checked carefully and there are no further visible signs on the spine. Then the lemon sign may be because of the angle of the probe and the position of the baby. This will get cleared in next scan. This sign is associated with disorders like spina bifida but cannot confirm with single scan. So stay positive and hope for the good. Take care

Ultrasounds are diagnostic and amniocentesis is a confirmatory test. Many a times the risks seen in dual marker and USG are not seen in amniocentesis so go for it to know the correct diagnosis .

@@kuldeepbujarbaruah6459 after that you need to go for Doppler tests at regular intervals along with the scans to see the blood flow patterns. Your doctor will suggest you about that . Rest pregnancy will be continued same as normal.

Hello , repeat scan after a week to confirm the diagnosis. Sometimes it might not be visible if it’s empty . And other abnormalities are associated with non visualisation of stomach like low amniotic fluid , swallowing issues with atresia .

Hello, stomach bubble is your baby's stomach. Your baby swallows some of the amniotic fluid that she lies in, which is seen in the stomach as a black bubble. Absence of stomach bubble can be a physiological emptying as well which is for some time so you can repeat scan again to confirm the same
