Unironically this game changed my life. Played it when I was 16. I stopped being a cringy loner with no friends in high school and actually started studying, working out and spending time with people like a social link. Literally just acted like Yu and became a chad. Thanks persona 4!
Chad Narukami would be proud of you
It's so lovely how games can help us ...
FOR REAL! THIS GAME HELPS ME
To become a chad, you must be taught by a chad. You were taught by Yu.
So you have your own persona or not?
love the golden opening, but man this opening is just so insanely good
Which is why I’m glad they included this one in Golden as well.
Agree.

I remember walking into a game stop and picking this game up cause it looked interesting, all with no prior knowledge of the games that came before it or anything from Atlus (aside from Snow boarding kids on the N64...) This game really changed my out look on life and got me through the hardest times growing up, Persona 4 will always hold a very special place in my heart.
I feel you, man! Same here I bought the game because of the same reason and it changed my view on many things in life.
It made me improve my English as well as a non native speaker.
For me this is THE most important game in my life
I haven't even finished it yet and it holds a special place in my heart.
I bought this game after 5 ( yes I’m one of those people) but I’m glad it introduced me to these games personally I think 4 had the best characters I just finished persona 3 two days ago so persona 3 has the best story and persona 5 has the best atmosphere music etc. I used to be very suicidal and funnily enough persona series helped me have a different look on life each game I took something to fix my own life with it. I owe it so much I’m still a teenager but I am living the best life right now and I am successful currently. I didn’t know what I was getting into when I played these games.
I saw joker in smash and thought he looked sick and so but persona 5 wasn’t on pc so I bought persona 4 and holy shit was it amazing to play
The gold think about persona games is that you can pick anyone you want WITHOUT losing much. I stopped persona 3 because it was kinda boring (the story was amazing but the mechanics kinda meh) and then skipped to persona 4 which was MUCH MUCH more developed (and take in mind Im talking about p4 for PS2 ) persona golden is obviously much much better but for PS2 standards persona 4 is fucking great
I love how this opening is just a perfect encapsulation of the 2000s aesthetic. Even the little silhouette part in the beginning very reminiscent of the iPod Daft Punk ads of that time.
たしかに!!iPodの広告はこんな感じでしたね〜!

You mean the silhouette ads? Those are my favorite ads ever!

I really like this opening. The music is catchy, and the visuals complement the themes of the game nicely.
It's not like the golden opening where it just spams the word "Truth" at you like an angry paranoid spouse.
"Pursing My True Self" easily is one of- if not the best opening in Persona.
Don't get carried away, it's one of the best.
Nothing beats Burn my Bread
Eh, I personally preferred Dream Of Butterfly, the EP PSP opening, Soul Phrase, Shadow World and Colors Flying High
Then again, all Persona openings are top tier

Honestly prefer this opening to Golden. In most cases I think the vanilla openings for the mainline entries do a much better job at embodying the tone, narrative and aesthetics of the respective games compared to the openings on the re-releases.
Yep. Usually the first openings are basically introducing you to the world through artistic symbolism, while the openings of the extended versions are more of a 'welcome back you already know what's going on' than anything else.
@@Gxmwp yep. hit the nail on the head. The original opening are usually your first experience with the game too. I think in every example i prefer the originals. i can enjoy the new ones though too.
I like more the P5 vanilla opening than Royal as well
100% agree, absolutely hate the FES opening in all honesty but I love both Soul Phrase and Burn My Dread "equally" (probably, still not sure).
For the most part I agree. I’d say the only exceptions are Soul Phase and and EP Portable’s opening
Anyone else think this is way better then the golden intro
A lot of people do, yes.
Way better, shadow world is the cheesiest intro next to royals.
i think theyre both great
I thought so once now I prefer shadow world

At a young age Persona 4 helped me accept the parts of myself I hated. I was able to overcome all of my self loathing and grow to be a better person because of it.
I Remember nearly giving up on Yukiko's castle because i didn't know Gohom's let you return to the floor you used it at. After that it became my favourite game. Listening to this brings me back to the days I first played it. Incredible game. Just mind blowing.

1:05 RIP rise's knee
I love how both this and the Golden opening perfectly capture the tone of the game just in different ways
True crime and fun time with your friends
As much as I like Golden's opening, this opening best fits the theme of the game. Golden was just a bit too cheery for me. This more serious looking yet so simple. I really liked the sequence at 0:57 and 1:08 as it more or less reflects how we meet the majority of our team-mates and our victims/would be victims - through the lens of cameras (like Yukiko's interview or Rise as Risette) and TVs.
Am i the only one that the Golden version fit for P5D or PQ.
Well keep in mind that the Golden intro is kinda of like a welcome back to the returning players who have already played the original game & know how things would play out in the story sorta like how in P5R they show everyone's Personas, Phantom Thief Outfits & have Akechi in the intro since they know people who already played P5 knew everything that is on screen so their isn't really a point in hiding it. But to a new player who never played the game & just heard from their friends or through the Internet to "Buy Persona 4 Golden/Persona 5 Royal that's the best way to play it" this seems like just spoilers & the intro just being corny.
@@ricniks4619 to be honest I feel like the persona 5 royal and persona 4 golden intro is just fan service and not very memorable
@@KousakaHonoka12 Because they aren't really meant to be memorable they are welcome backs to the players who already played the original game & got the remaster to experience the game again with the new content.
@@ricniks4619 it just feels like over done fan service compared to the original
I think I like this one a lot more than the golden one, it feels a bit darker and mysterious, really feels like a 2000s murder mystery
Whenever I start Golden I skip the intro and go to TV Listings to watch the original intro
This takes me waaaay back, so much nostalgia. Running home, working on assignment for school so fast just so i could play this game. So much nostalgia. Master piece.
2008,its been a long time since Persona 4 released, but it still remain in every P4 fans heart to this day, like a bond through the strength of heart
This opening, both song and visuals, is such a damn good introduction to what Persona 4 is. We see a little bit of who each of the characters are, but on the surface. For a game where the main theme is literally to pursue your true self, it's such a good way to establish everyone
One of my favorite intros, definitely in my top 3
Persona 4 has NO bad openings. Seriously, in all of the mainline games and spinoffs, the openings rocked
Started with 5. Cherishes 3 with all my heart. Just started this one, and I know it will be a great time
Have fun!
Same sequence I played the games, I just started p4 too.
How was it???
このどこか切ないメロディが絶妙だなぁ…

Persona 3 intro: you will die
Persona 4 intro: you will groove
This opening really give the mystery vibe, I never skip it once when playing ps2 P4 it’s just too good, at the front it reveal a bit of your teammate and before the end it’s just give you how they act in their daily life which represent them in tv and in real life both way
And Chie smile in elevator get me everytime
The Golden intro stays in my head longer but this one certainly hits my nostalgia in the way Golden can't do.
0:24 that transitions are extremely good
This is my favourite game of all time, i played it with the Vita Golden version but i love this intro too and the music is still FIRE, the characters, story and music just had me so invested, the characters felt like they could be my real friends, it's kind of hard to describe but hopefully you understand why i love it and why it's my favourite game of all time :)

Used to question why everyone loves persona 4 so much, I played 3 and skipped 4, I would ask “why do people like it? It’s to bright and cheerful” and then I played it finally and beat it 2 days ago and my my my have my impressions changed, persona 4 has to be THEE funniest game I’ve ever played, it’s humor is what stole my heart along with the fact that the characters all have personality, I also loved how even though the protags personality is up to your choice they still made Yuu ease towards the funny side of life, drawbacks though are that the dungeons are both huge and short, coming from persona 3 and 5 I appreciated the small but long dungeon crawling, I generally do all my dungeon crawling and grinding in one sitting so I can focus on social links but the dungeons in 4 had huge floors but the dungeons were short, that’s my only drawback, this game stole my heart and it’s on my recommended to play list for anyone

This game helped me in so many aspects of my life. I first played it on the ps vita back during a time where I was at peak happiness--I'd just moved to a nice house and things were looking up. The game soaked-up all that happiness and cemented it as a source of good vibes.
